Sheridan Smith showed off a dramatic new look at last night's TV BAFTAs, swapping her midlength hair (usually blonde, occasionally red) for a lavender mohawk with shaved sides. She's been trying out a variety of unexpected colours over the last few weeks, but there's a simple explanation behind her dramatic styles. She's about to start filming The C-Word, a TV film based on the life of the incredible Alright Tit blogger Lisa Lynch, who died of cancer in 2013. Sheridan is obviously eschewing the bald cap and shaving her hair off for scenes in the film. To confirm, she tweeted this morning "For those of u confused by my hair..u shall see...@LisaLynch".
She's not the only star willing to get into character in a big way. Natalie Dormer recently shaved one side of her head for her role as Cressida in Mockingjay), joining the likes of Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron, and Demi Moore in the list of stars who've shaved off their hair for a role.
