Will Tarte Release Shape Tape Foundation?

Tarte Just Teased a Potential Shape Tape Foundation, and We Cannot Keep Calm

Let's face it: New Year's resolutions for getting in shape can fall flat by mid-January. But getting our faces in Shape Tape, Tarte's bestselling concealer, is a habit we'll keep year-round. The cover-up damn near caused mass hysteria upon its release, and it's beloved for its wide shade range and blendable formula. Now, there's a good chance that the brand might launch a foundation version of Shape Tape ($27). Let's investigate, shall we?

It all started with a joint post on Tarte's Twitter and Instagram accounts. A short video showed off the telltale purple diamond design of the concealer's caps. However, these toppers looked a little bit bigger than the ones that grace Shape Tape — and we all know that foundation bottles are generally larger than tubes of cover-up.

Tarte didn't confirm what the new product is, but the caption cryptically read, "Are you ready to shape what your momma gave ya in 2018?" Indeed we are! And, if responses to the tweet are any indication, many makeup enthusiasts are on board too:

The hype is completely understandable. If you've tried Shape Tape (and if you haven't, get thee to an Ulta to experience it for yourself), you know that the formula is full-coverage (but non-creasing!) and amazing at hiding acne, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation. In short: if the supposed foundation does indeed come out and is as good as its concealer cousin, it's going to be totally game-changing.

Eagle-eyed beauty snoops probably know that this isn't the first time the brand has teased this product. Way back in January 2017, when Kathleen Lights asked for a Shape Tape Foundation, the brand responded, "We were thinking the same thing. . ." Great minds!
