In a new video for Vogue, [1] Yara Shahidi [2] takes you through her makeup [3] routine, social media habits, and who she looks to for beauty inspiration — all while snacking on some french fries like the icon that she is. Shahidi shows you exactly how she preps her skin for makeup and applies her favourite beauty products. She includes picks from Bobbi Brown, for which she is a spokesperson, and a liquid lipstick that she uses in multiple different ways.
She also discusses the makeup looks that she posts photos of on Instagram. "When you see me on Instagram, I usually have the addition of a colorful pencil," she said, holding up a bright eyeliner. "On my page, when it comes down to what I like to share, I try to be most authentic to what's actually happening in my life, and so that means sometimes, you'll get speeches that have inspired me and essays that I'm reading. Sometimes you'll get selfies . . . It's about trying to be as authentic as possible."

SK-II Facial Treatment Mask
Shahidi starts off the video with an SK-II Facial Treatment Mask [4] ($95 for 6). "Starting with a face mask, partially because I like to take videos of me scaring my brothers while wearing a face mask." She lifts her curly bangs to to make sure the mask is sitting along the edge of her face and leaves the mask on until she feels serum get into her eye.
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base Priming Moisturiser
"Skin care is something that I do more on a daily basis whereas makeup is really more spontaneous and depending on how I feel that day and what colours I want to see on my face," Shahidi says about her routine, before applying the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base Priming Moisturiser [5] ($60).
Face Mist
Shahidi then spritzes on a mist like the Caudalie Beauty Elixir [6] ($18).
Foundation
Next, Shahidi holds up a foundation by Bobbi Brown like the Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15 [7] ($46). "This is my colour right now," she said about the bottle she was holding. "I am Golden, and my shade changes throughout the year because my melanin changes."
Beautyblender
Shahidi uses a brush to apply her foundation, then switches to a Beautyblender [8] ($20) to further blend it into her complexion.
Brow Shapers
Before applying the Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper and Hair Touch-Up [9] ($28) in an upward motion, Shahidi brushes her eyebrows with a spoolie. "It's the one thing I do everyday." As she grooms her brows, she discusses her beauty icons, which include her mother, her "Nana," musical artist Solange, and actress Angela Bassett.
Eyes and Cheek Product
