Addison Rae took the stage at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards not to dance, but to present for the category of the Billboard Chart Achievement Award (which ended up going to Harry Styles). Although Rae isn't new to being in the spotlight by any means, this was her first awards show and with the help of a fully stacked glam team, she looked completely at home on stage. Mara Roszak, celebrity hairstylist and Authentic Beauty Concept Advocate, had the all-important job of creating Rae's ultra-glam hairstyle to match her all-black ensemble for the event. "We decided we wanted to go with a bit more glamorous look – our inspiration was a modern take on the classic Old Hollywood wave," Roszak told POPSUGAR. "We put our own twist on it by parting her hair in the middle as opposed to the deep side part a la Veronica Lake." "I definitely wanted Addison's input," Roszak said. To prep for the big night, Roszak gave Rae a small trim which was key to making her ends look healthy and silky-soft. If you're recreating this Old Hollywood meets New Hollywood glam look, Roszak shared some tips for keeping the style in place for a long night: "Products are key — you want weightless products that have flexible hold or, in this case, high shine, as well," she said. "I used the Authentic Beauty Concept Working Hairspray throughout the curling process to help hold everything in place and create a great styling foundation. I also pin curled all the curls and let them set before brushing them out which absolutely ensures a longer lasting style." "The key to this style is shine and the Glow Touch mists out evenly in the hair and is totally weightless while adding the most beautiful shine," said Roszak. Keep reading for a how-to on Rae's glamorous Old Hollywood waves. Image Source: ghdhair.com Step 1: Start by blow drying your hair (Roszak used the GHD Helios Professional Hair Dryer ($249)) with a medium round brush to create a nice shiny base as the foundation for the look. Step 2: Part your hair in the middle and create waves in the hair towards your face on both sides using a GHD Curve Soft Curl Iron ($199). Step 3: After each curl, spray the section of hair with the Authentic Beauty Concept Working Hairspray ($25), loosely pinning up the curls after spraying them in sections to create extra hold. Step 4: Spray your full head with hairspray again before removing the pin curls and very gently brushed out the waves with a flat brush. Step 5: Lastly, spray the Authentic Beauty Concept Glow Touch ($25) all over for high-shine and tucked the left side of her hair behind her ear.
