Anastasia Beverly Hills Is Donating $1 Million to the Black Lives Matter Movement

Many brands in the beauty industry have come together to show their support [1] for the Black Lives Matter movement in light of recent events, such as the killing of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police. Of all the donations by independently owned brands and major corporations, Anastasia Beverly Hills [2] joins Glossier with the largest announced donation [3] to date with its pledge to give $1 million (approximately £795,000) to the Black community and organisations fighting racial injustice.

The news of Anastasia Beverly Hills's large donation came on 1 June. The cosmetics brand announced to its followers on Instagram that it will be taking action in the "fight against systematic racism, oppression, and injustice." Anastasia Beverly Hills initially pledged to donate $100,000 to Black Lives Matter [4], the Innocence Project [5], the NAACP Legal Defence and Educational Fund [6], Black Visions Collective [7], and The Marshall Project [8] before increasing their commitment to $1 million.

"We are taking the time internally to discuss new initiatives that will financially support Black owned businesses and artists in the beauty industry. When the details have been finalized, we will announce the process for submission or nomination, and we will update you monthly on recipients. We vow to remain constant and vocal supporters of equality. We vow to use our platform and our privilege to amplify the voices of marginalized groups that deserve to be heard.
