The french manicure [2] has gotten a makeover more times than we can count in recent years, but the version Anya Taylor-Joy wore for the Screen Actors Guild Awards [3] on 4 April is one of our favourites. The nail art featured a black outline [4] on the tips of her almond-shaped nails [5], which complemented her cream and black Vera Wang dress perfectly.

The contemporary nail design was created by celebrity manicurist Julie Kandalec [6] using press-on nails [7] to get the flawless shape. Kandalec called them "so great for events" when asked about them in the comments on her Instagram post [8].

Overall, it's been a big award season for Taylor-Joy so far. The Queen's Gambit actress won outstanding performance by a female actor in a miniseries at the SAG Awards. "Oh goodness- this one really hit me in the feels," Taylor-Joy wrote [9] on Instagram. "Thank you SO much to my fellow creatives @sagawards for honouring Beth and I ... it feels surreal to even be able to call you my PEERS let alone this. Thank you."
