16 Brands That Have Launched Into Boots This Year as Part of the Huge Beauty Reinvention

01/10/2020 - 09:45 AM

It's fair to say that Boots has really upped its beauty game [1] over the past 18 months. The health-and-beauty retailer has introduced a number of initiatives, including Virtual Beauty Consultations [2], to give customers better access to beauty experts, a partnership with The Hygiene Bank [3] to install donation bins into store in an effort to help tackle poverty across the UK, and most recently, the new "Makeup Exchange Policy" [4] to give people the opportunity to return opened products that don't work for them.

On top of all of that, Boots has added over 40 new beauty brands to its shelves (both virtually and in-store), with some of the most exciting additions launching this year. From Huda Beauty to Rituals, and most recently Nars Cosmetics, the retailer has been hard at work in 2020 to ensure its beauty selection is ever growing, and we're continually keep an eye out for what's next.

Read on for the full list of brands that've launched in-store or online in Boots, which you'll now find alongside your cotton pads and toothpaste — honestly, toiletries shopping has never been so fun (or terrible for our monthly budgets).

Nars Cosmetics

One of the most recent launches into Boots (and arguably the most exciting to date [5]) is Nars Cosmetics, the professional-level cosmetics brand started by makeup artist François Nars that has become known for its innovative formulas, high-performing textures, and cheeky shade names. "Following the hugely popular launch of Laura Mercier, we're really excited to welcome Nars to our ever-growing beauty offering on Boots.com. Celebrated for their inclusive and boundary-breaking approach to makeup as well as bold, long-lasting pigments, we're so pleased to be making another legendary brand accessible to all of our beauty-loving customers," said Joanna Rogers, commercial director and VP of beauty and gifting at Boots UK. If you're torn on what to try first, we love the iconic Nars Orgasm Blush [6] (£25) and the concealer that makes it onto every makeup artist's must-have list [7], the Radiant Creamy Concealer [8] (£24).

Laura Mercier

In June, Laura Mercier was announced as the latest brand drop on Boots.com, which made beauty enthusiasts everywhere very happy. "We're so thrilled to be bringing Laura Mercier's pioneering makeup artistry and French beauty aesthetic to Boots customers across the UK," said Laura Mercier's general manager, Helen Wood. Known for creating product that give a flawless base, we particularly love the Translucent Loose Setting Powder [9] (£32) and the Tinted Moisturiser Natural Skin Perfector [10] (£35).

MAC Cosmetics

It's not surprising that when it was announced that MAC Cosmetics is launching at Boots [11], people lost it — including us. As of 29 July (which just so happens to be National Lipstick Day), you'll be able to stock up on your favourite Paint Pot shades and Cremesheen Lipstick at Boots.com and in select stores across UK and Ireland. "This is an exciting time for MAC, as a brand we have always set the industry standard and by joining forces with Boots we are making prestige cosmetics and artistry more accessible to high street shoppers," said Fiona Sainty, vice president of MAC Cosmetics UK and Ireland.

Huda Beauty

Boots really got our 2020 off to a great start when it was announced that Huda Beauty — founded in 2013 by supersuccessful beauty blogger and makeup artist Huda Kattan — was landing online and in a number of stores in January [12]. If you're stuck on what to try first, we suggest the full-coverage Faux Filter Foundation [13] (£32), which comes in 30 shades, and the Rose Gold Remastered Eye Shadow Palette [14] (£56), which is one of the most beautiful palettes we've set our eyes on.

Wishful

In 2020, Huda Kattan finally stepped into the world of skin care [15] with her brand Wishful, which also launched into Boots this year. According to Kattan, Wishful is out to conquer the skincare world, starting with the Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub [16] (£34), which already has over 100 glowing (literally) reviews on Boots's website.

Boots Ingredients

Boots Ingredients is a new own-brand to launch at Boots with the mission to offer affordable skin care tailored to specific ingredients and skin concerns. The simplified, clinical-type packaging is reminiscent of successful skin-care brands The Ordinary and The Inkey List. The Boots Ingredients products range from £5-£7 with products such as Hyaluronic Acid Moisturiser [17], Glycolic Acid Toner [18], and Hemp Seed Oil. [19]

Givenchy Beauty

Givenchy Beauty, which needs no introduction, is another one of the newest addition to the beauty offering at Boots. There are plenty of Givenchy cosmetics to choose on Boots.com but we particularly adore the Givenchy Le Rose Perfecto Hydrating Lip Balm [20] (£28) (especially the chic leather tube case detail) and Givenchy Volume Disturbia 24 Hour Mascara [21] (£23.50).

XX Revolution

New brand XX Revolution launched into Boots in June, catching our attention and wracked up stellar reviews thanks to its flashy packaging, eye-catching shades, and reasonable prices. Out of all the fun products on offer we love the XX Revolution Eyeshadow Palette XXtravaganza [22] (£28)) and XX Revolution Glow Skin Foundation [23] (£15), which comes in a whopping 55 shades.

Rituals

Ever since Rituals dropped at Boots, we've upped our relaxation game. From foaming shower gels, to body mists, and even massage candles, you're sure to find whatever helps you wind down with Rituals. We can't get enough of the The Ritual of Ayurveda Fragrance Sticks [24] (£25) and The Ritual of Jing Bath Foam [25] (£14).

KVD Vegan Beauty

It's KVD Vegan Beauty's mission to make the brand more accessible to fans, so the fact it landed at Boots this year makes perfect sense. The launch into Boots [26] came a number of months after founder Kat Von D's departure from the brand, which is now fully owned by Kendo (who also owns Fenty Beauty, Ole Henriksen, and Marc Jacobs) under the new name KVD Vegan Beauty. The brand is known for its Tattoo Eyeliner [27] (£18) and Everlasting Liquid Lipstick [28] (£18), if you're stuck on what to try out.

Boots Glow

Boots Glow is another new own-brand from the health-and-beauty retailer promising glow-enhancing products for all skin types at an affordable price tag. All of the products are just £4 and include a Glow Essence Serum [29] (£4) and Brightening Mist [30] (£4), which are vegan and cruelty-free.

Sun Bum

If you've never heard of Sun Bum, well, let us introduce you to your new favourite sunscreens. Started in Florida by a group of surfers, the once indie brand specialises in both chemical and physical sunscreens that are vegan, reef-friendly, paraben-free, and smell like the beach in a bottle (a warm, sweet blend of coconut and bananas we'd say).

In June, Sun Bum arrived into Boots, which now stocks a few of the brand's bestsellers, including its Sunscreen Lotion (in SPF 30 and 50), SPF 30 Sunscreen Face Stick (great for kids), SPF 30 Lip Balm, and the Sun Bum SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray [31] (£18), which also comes in SPF 50.

Heath

Although Heath isn't as well known as the legacy brands that Boots has introduced this year, the quality of the products is just as good. After launching just two years ago, the London-based male grooming brand has now landed in Boots stores and online. Though described as predominantly male grooming, like many beauty brands, the products cater to all. The Heath Hand Salve [32] (£10) is a personal favourite of mine thanks to its ability to soak in quickly and leave my hands feeling incredibly soft; it also has the perfect balance of a masculine yet uplifting scent.

Cosrx

Cosrx is making its UK high street debut at the one and only Boots. The K-beauty brand combines high-performance ingredients with affordable pricing. The brand has quickly made a name for itself with some classic best-sellers, including the Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence [33] (£24), BHA Blackhead Power Liquid [34] (£26), and Ultimate Nourishing Rice Spa Overnight Mask [35] (£27).

Shiseido

The most recent brand to launch into Boots is the legendary Shiseido [36]. "Shiseido has long beenleading the way in shaping beauty technology and we are so excited to welcome the brand to Boots. We know that our customers are going to love these high-performance, luxury formulas and are pleased to be bringing another legendary brand to our customers," says Joanna Rogers, trading director and VP of beauty and gifting at Boots UK. To celebrate the launch, from 29. Sept, Boots is offering a free Shiseido Defend Kit worth £38.50 when you spend £50 on the brand on Boots.com.

Frank Body

Your favourite coffee body scrub just landed in your local Boots. Yep, Frank Body is the latest brand to launch at the health and beauty retailer and we're thrilled. There are plenty of coffee-based skin treats available online, but our favourite has to be the Frank Body Original Coffee Scrub [37] (£14) — you just can't go wrong with a caffeinated wake-me-up in the shower.
