January might be the month when we experience the darkest days, take down our festive decorations, and vow to stick to some New Year's resolutions (or affirmations), but there's plenty of good, too — promise. Luckily for us beauty-lovers, the beauty newness is anything but dreary and the product launches are here to keep us entertained.
Kicking off the new year with new goodies is beauty editor staple brand CeraVe, which has dipped its toe into the world of micellar water with a simple but effective formula to get rid of every inch of leftover makeup and grime from the day. Next up is none other than Charlotte Tilbury blessing us with my new favourite everyday foundation (with Kate Moss starring in the campaign). And last, but by no means least, another absolute joy that landed on my desk this month is the Jo Loves Fragrance Paintbrush in Cobalt Patchouli & Cedar, which has already made my days a lot brighter.

CeraVe Micellar Cleansing Water
It's very true that the simplest of products get beauty editors excited the most. That was exactly the case with the launch of CeraVe's Micellar Cleansing Water (£10). The brand is an absolute staple for editors, influencers, and dermatologists thanks to its efficacious formulas with affordable prices. The micellar water is no different. It removes every scrap of makeup and grime from the day whilst still being ultra gentle on even the most sensitive skin types.
Jo Loves Fragrance Paintbrush in Cobalt Patchouli & Cedar
There are now plenty of ways to use perfume that span beyond just spritzing (think: balms and brushes). One of our favourite British brands has expanded its line of paintbrush scents. The Jo Loves Fragrance Paintbrush in Cobalt Patchouli & Cedar (£40) is as elegant as it is unique. Simply use the clicker end to dispense the gel liquid and paint the fragrance on the areas you would spritz a regular perfume. The paintbrush is also refillable so you don't need to replace the brush tube every time you run out.
RoC Multi Correxion Hydrate + Plump Daily Moisturiser
The RoC Multi Correxion Hydrate + Plump Daily Moisturiser (£36) does a wonderful job at keeping thirsty winter skin hydrated whilst protecting against harmful UVA and UVB rays (yes, SPF is even important during the winter months). Its lightweight texture makes it a great addition for all skin types and it also layers well with other products.
Caudalie Premier Cru The Cream
Caudalie's Premier Cru The Cream (£85, refill £73.50) gets its magic from its TET8 technology, which is an enzyme that promises to reverse signs of ageing. In addition to helping reduce fine lines, the product is an incredible hydrator. Another bonus is that it's completely refillable.
Pixi + Hello Kitty Makeup Fixing Mist
What could be better than the original Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist? Well, the Pixi + Hello Kitty Makeup Fixing Mist (£16), of course! This adorable collaboration only landed this month but we already know it's one of our favourite collaborations of the year. The collection includes four skin-care products and five makeup products, each with their own unique nod to Hello Kitty.
Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation
The Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation (£34) has firmly made its way into nearly every beauty editor's makeup bag after testing it just once — including mine. It's a medium-coverage foundation that works for many skin types thanks to its ability to leave skin looking dewy without being overly greasy. It is the perfect everyday foundation for someone who loves a natural glow but without much effort or multiple products.
Ole Henriksen Strength Trainer Peptide Boost Moisturizer
The Ole Henriksen Strength Trainer Peptide Boost Moisturizer (£40) is on a mission to strengthen all of our skin barriers and I'm completely on board. I was lucky enough to test out the moisturiser ahead of its launch and found it to be an excellent addition to my skin-care routine, which is centred around keeping my rosacea at bay. It's packed with amino acids, ceramides, and niacinamide (to name a few), which all help to keep inflammation down and hydration up. It's safe to say this product has now found a firm place in my skin-care routine.
Maybelline Colossal Curl Bounce Mascara
Another beauty product that's the talk of the beauty town right now is the Maybelline Colossal Curl Bounce Mascara (£11) and so it deserves to be. The formula is specifically designed to hold your lashes in place without any curlers needed beforehand, which is all thanks to smart polymers used that mimic the effects of a hairstyling product that holds shape all day. As well as having incredible curl power, it's also smudge-proof, non-clumpy, and buildable — basically everything we could ask for in a high street mascara.
Byoma
Byoma is a new brand to hit the beauty scene and it's already impressed us massively.
Confusion in the skin-care market over the last few years has caused over-exfoliation and over-treating the skin, which is why the main main focus of Byoma is keeping the skin barrier as healthy as can be. This is the products are packed with ingredients like ceramides, glycerin, squalane, hyaluronic acid, and more to hydrate and repair skin — even the most sensitive types. I particularly love the cleanser, which has a jelly consistency that turns to a nice subtle foam when washed off — it leaves my skin feeling clean without any tightness. I also adore the Moisturising Rich Cream because it hydrates my dry skin without clogging more pores.
GHD Curve Thin Curls Wand
The GHD Curve Thin Curls Wand (£139) is unlike any curling wand you've used before — promise. There are so many styles you can create with this and all hair types can use it. The best part is that it only takes three seconds so you won't be curling your hair forever or causing accidental damage.
Rose Inc. Luminous Tinted Serum
The Rose Inc. Luminous Tinted Serum (£36) is literally a ring light in a bottle. Its microencapsulated pigments create an ultra natural second-skin like finish, creating a perfect skin care/foundation hybrid. Don't believe us? Read our full review here.
