The internet has given rise to a load of strange trends over the last several years, but none of them have captivated people quite like extraction videos [1]. For the unfamiliar, an extraction [2] is when a dermatologist or licenced aesthetician clears clogged pores on the face or body usually using their fingers or special tools. People usually get them to remove blackheads during facials, but pimples can also be extracted, depending on how large they are.

The thought of watching dozens of videos of people having the dirt, oil, and dead skin cells removed from their skin might sound a little off-putting, we'll admit, but to millions of people on the internet, these videos are oddly satisfying.
