Halloween can take a serious toll on your skin between the candy, the makeup, and the celebrating. Board-certified dermatologist Dhaval Bhanusali, MD, says that he sees an increase in breakouts in his patients after Oct. 31 every year. So after you have your fun, it's vital to take time to care for your complexion with a mask.
After you remove the night's heavy makeup and for a few days after, Dr. Bhanusali advises you take a few extra steps before it does any damage to your skin. "[Halloween] makeup tends to be oil-based," he said. "It will likely clog pores and not let the skin breathe so it's important to cleanse out the debris by exfoliating."
Before you kick off the festivities, stock up on some of these detoxifying, hydrating, and exfoliating masks so you can soothe your skin post-fun. Because sometimes, treating yourself to a mask can be even better than a bucket full of candy.
