Last night's Met Gala saw some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood give their interpretations of the night's theme: "In America: An Anthology of Fashion." The event's dress code called for "gilded glamor," and viewers were treated to everything from literal interpretations of the theme (see: Cara Delevingne's gold body paint,) to more abstract spins, like Dove Cameron's futuristic ensemble. But some of the night's biggest wins were in the beauty details, particularly, the manicures. Though stars like Precious Lee wowed with their gilded brows and monochromatic makeup, the manicures of the Met Gala were in a league of their own. Attendees wore everything from '90s supermodel manicures to avant-garde designs. Nicola Peltz Beckham followed a similar vein as her wedding manicure and went with a "tonal supermodel nude," created by manicurist Tom Bachik. Gabrielle Union took the classic french manicure up a notch and wore press-ons that also featured sculpted white roses and crystals. Cynthia Erivo even added gilded jewels to her extra-long nails for a manicure that just screamed opulence. There were quite a few more manicures that made a splash throughout the night, so we rounded up the best nail-art moments from the Met Gala ahead. Addison Rae's Crystal Nail Art Image Source: Getty / Taylor Hill Addison Rae's Met Gala manicure was nothing short of sparkling. The look saw crystals all over her nails, with some going all the way down her fingers. "I was inspired by the look and feel of Addison's dress and wanted the nails to reflect the gunmetal tones," celebrity manicurist Natalie Minerva tells POPSUGAR. "We wanted to create something that felt organic and yet also futuristic at the same time." Billie Eilish's Milk-Bath Manicure Image Source: Getty / Taylor Hill Billie Eilish was the latest to join the milk-bath manicure trend. Her iteration of the manicure also included an ombré french design. Cynthia Erivo's Bejeweled Nail Art Image Source: Getty / Taylor Hill Cynthia Erivo has become known for her red carpet manicures, and last night's only further proved why. The actor wore extra-long nails with a black base colour, and her manicurist, Gina Oh, added numerous jewels to give an extremely opulent finish. Emma Chamberlin's 3D Lace Nail Art Image Source: Getty / Taylor Hill Emma Chamberlin's nails were the cherry on top of her two-piece Louis Vuitton ensemble. "Emma had a classic ivory look, and we wanted the nails to reflect that while still making a statement," manicurist Betina Goldstein tells POPSUGAR. "We went with clean, long, coffin-shaped nails in a warm ivory tone and created a 3D lace effect in the same shade for a high-impact result." Gabrielle Union's "Modern" Pointed French Tips Image Source: Getty / Taylor Hill Gabrielle Union's pointed french tips got a "modern" makeover. "I decided that I would use french tips for Gabrielle but wanted it to have a modern touch, so I opted for the KISS Classy Nails Collection ($10)," celebrity manicurist Thuy Nguyen shared on Instagram. "I also added white roses and crystals to tie her full look with her nails." The manicure featured a spiral design that looked a bit like a wine opener (the singer did say that she would be opening everyone's wine at the event,) and her nails were painted black and gold. "The inspiration for the nails was Black royalty," the singer's nail artist, Eri Ishizu, previously told POPSUGAR. Shawn Mendes's Tommy Hilfiger Nail Art Image Source: Getty / Sean Zanni Shawn Mendes wore a Tommy Hilfiger-inspired manicure to match his suit at the gala. "We wanted to take inspiration from Shawn's Tommy Hilfiger look and brought that out in his nails, which resulted in a matte navy-blue look with an iconic feature nail and gold clusters for an extra pop," nail artist Betina Goldstein previously told POPSUGAR.
