The Best New Skin Care, Makeup, and Hair Care Launching in April 2021

27/04/2021 - 01:00 PM

In recent years, the beauty industry has grown exponentially, with new launches, collaborations, and celebrity lines [1] coming at us in rapid succession. Every casual scroll through your Instagram feed presents you with new beauty products, and don't even get us started on all those targeted ads you never asked to see. So if you're someone who loves beauty, how do you keep track of all of the latest and greatest? And more specifically, how do you know which items you can buy in the UK (without paying exorbitant shipping fees, that is)? Well, that's where we come in. Every month, we round up the most exciting launches coming to the UK, from classic brands to indie newcomers [2] and all the creams, sprays, and conditioners in between.

This April is an exciting month, and not just because pubs and restaurants can reopen for outdoor dining and we can go to nonessential shops [3] again. If you're a beauty-lover, you'll be excited to find out that Glossier is launching a new exfoliating cleanser, Caudalie has reformulated its iconic Vinoperfect Radiance Serum to be even more effective, and Ardell introduces the world's first water-activated false lashes (no glue required).

Keep reading to discover all of the skin, hair, makeup, and fragrance newness arriving in the UK this month.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Firming Collagen Cream

Already a top-seller in the United States, the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Firming Collagen Cream [4] (£38) arrives in the UK this month. Aimed at plumping and hydrating the skin, the cream also contains collagen, peptides, and niacinamide. "Topically applied collagen doesn't really build collagen, it keeps your skin soft and supple, but it doesn't build collagen," First Aid Beauty founder Lilli Gordon told POPSUGAR via Zoom. "So the two workhorse ingredients in this cream are really peptides and niacinamide. And together what they do, they help you hold onto the collagen you have, and to rebuild the collagen you've lost."

Glossier Cleanser Concentrate Clarifying Face Wash

Glossier's Milky Jelly Cleanser, the brand's first face wash (and one of its first products actually), is a best-seller and a fan favourite. However, over the years, the brand realised its customers also wanted a cleanser that did a bit more — something that deep cleaned and exfoliated without any gritty stuff, and that wasn't drying or stripping or fragranced. The result? The Glossier Cleanser Concentrate Clarifying Face Wash [5] (£18), which is an exfoliating cleanser that's kind to skin. It uses grape ferment and grade juice extract, both of which contain acids that gently chemically exfoliate the skin, and niacinamide to help decongest pores and refine skin texture. It also contains chamomile flower water and calendula extract, both of which help soothe and condition the skin, and a plant-derived amino acid surfactants (what helps the cleanser foam) that the brand claims is gentler on the skin than traditional surfactants used in soaps.

Weleda Prickly Pear Cactus Hydrating Facial Mist

This month, Weleda celebrates its 100th anniversary with a new range that centres on the prickly pear cactus, which the brand sources sustainably (per the standards set by the Union for Ethical Bio Trade) from Jalisco, Mexico. Why prickly pear cactus? Even in extremely dry climates, the plant is able to store water in something called its mucilage, found inside the paddle-shape lobes of the cactus. This mucilage is like a plant version of our skin's natural hyaluronic acid reserves, helping both attract and retain moisture. Weleda has managed to extract the mucilage — in a patent-pending process that took it six years to develop — which it then adds to the product formulations to help attract moisture into the skin.

The collection includes four products, all aimed at hydrating the skin. There's a Facial Cream, a Facial Lotion, an Eye Gel, and the Weleda Prickly Pear Cactus Hydrating Facial Mist [6] (£17), which can be used throughout the day to add a hit of moisture when you need it or before makeup as a hydrating primer. You can even use it after makeup, and we promise it won't disrupt your base.

Dr. Dennis Gross All Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense SPF 30

Dr. Dennis Gross All Physical Lightweight Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 [7] (£46) is a new broad-spectrum, oil-free formula that's silky, lightweight, and doesn't leave behind a white cast. The secret is in the formulation, which uses non-nano zinc oxide (meaning the particles are a bit bigger), that's blended with antioxidants like lingonberry, sea buckthorn, ferulic acid, and bearberry, all of which help add another element of protection for your skin. What we really love about this facial sunscreen, however, is that it works a treat under makeup. While it starts out shiny, after a minute that shine dissipates, and it's not the least bit sticky or greasy, meaning it won't disrupt your foundation or concealer, or cause it to pill.

Ultra Violette Clean Screen Sensitive Skinscreen SPF 30

Ultra Violette is the brainchild of two beauty industry veterans who have been developing and marketing SPF for some of Australia's biggest companies "We wanted to design a wardrobe of facial sunscreen that looked good, felt nice to wear, and didn't bore us to tears," co-founder Ava Matthews said via press release. "Of all the anti-ageing products available on the market, sunscreen is the single most important one," added co-founder Bec Jefferd. "It's about future-proofing your face from the daily toll of UV rays, and having a suite of products that can be adapted for every occasion to do this."

Beautifully packaged with broad spectrum SPF protection (that's not oxybenzone, by the way), the formulas — which the brand calls "Skinscreens" — also contain a host of skin-protecting, antioxidant-rich ingredients native to Australia. We're obsessed with the entire range, which includes a hydrating SPF 50+ sunscreen for the face, a hydrating SPF 50+ for the hands and body, a fragrance-free SPF 30 gel for sensitive skin, as well as an SPF 50+ Zinc sunscreen and SPF-laced tinted lip balms. However, we're particularly impressed by the Ultra Violette Clean Screen Queen Screen Luminising Sun Serum SPF 50+ [8] (£32), which is a silky, serum-like sunscreen (it's not as watery as say, a hyaluronic acid serum, though) that leaves your skin looking dewy (not greasy) and smells like roses.

La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Aquagel SPF 30

The La Roche Posay Hyalu B5 Serum is one of the brand's best-selling products. This month, the brand adds to the Hyalu range with gel moisturiser that's not only super hydrating, but also offers sun protection. Like the serum, the La Roche Posay Hyalu B5 Aquagel SPF 30 [9] (£26) contains hyaluronic acid, as well as antioxidants to offer another form of protection. Suitable for sensitive skin, the lightweight gel — which comes out of the tube pale blue but goes on skin completely clear — is ideal for summer and truly does leave your skin feeling soft and silky, with a little bit of dewiness, too.

Drunk Elephant Protini Peptide Resurf Serum

The Drunk Elephant Protini Peptide Resurf Serum [10] (£69) is aimed at reinforcing and resurfacing the skin. Like the brand's Protini Moisturiser, this serum is packed with peptides (11 different kinds, to be exact), as well as plant-derived growth factors (to help jump-start your skin cells to do things, like grow and divide, or make more collagen and elastin), amino acids, and hydrating ingredients like sodium hyaluronate and sodium PCA. On top of all of that, it also contains 10 percent lactic acid, the gentler alpha hydroxy acid that is both a chemical exfoliant and humectant. Use it in the morning and at night to keep skin smooth, moisturised, and glowy — and to help smooth fine lines and improve skin's texture.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum

We know what you're thinking, and no, the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum [11] (£46) isn't a new product. It's been the brand's bestseller for 15 years. But in 2021, Caudalie decided it was time to give the fan favourite a face lift, updating the formula with newer and more natural ingredients, which resulted in it becoming even more effective at fading dark spots and brightening the skin in general.

In addition to making the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum PEG-free, Caudalie's scientists also created a new biomimetic emulsifier — biomimetic meaning that it mimics the structure of the skin — which in turn allowed the active ingredients in the serum to penetrate deeper into the skin, thereby becoming more targeted and effective.

The Radiance Serum wasn't the only product in Caudalie's Vinoperfect range to get an update, either. The entire existing collection, including the Night Cream, Instant Brightening Cream, Glycolic Peel Bask, and Brightening Essence, all got a formulation makeover.

Carbon Theory Charcoal & Tea Tree Oil Breakout Control Facial Cleansing Wash

Customers asked, and Carbon Theory listened. After years of feedback and requests, the brand has finally created a liquid version of its bestselling Breakout Control Facial Cleansing Bar. The Carbon Theory Charcoal & Tea Tree Oil Breakout Control Facial Cleansing Wash [12] (£8) is the same great, spot-clearing formula (featuring charcoal and tea tree oil) packaged in a tube that is made from sugarcane, a renewable raw material, and is 100 percent recyclable. Even better news? It still costs under a tenner.

Codex Antü Brightening Moisturiser

Codex Beauty Labs is a plant-based biotech beauty brand that launched in 2019 with the goal of disrupting the industry and setting a new standard when it came to sustainability in skin care. And in April, the company has finally come out with its second range of products called Antü, which is focused on the skin barrier and the reduction of oxidative stress on the skin from external factors like pollution and UV exposure.

Made up of two products — the Codex Antü Brightening Moisturiser [13] (£76) and a Night Cream — the new collection features a patent-pending ingredient complex created with bio-actives from three plants found in the Patagonian rainforest, which have been combined with hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid to protect and support the microbiome as well as strengthen the skin barrier. And to ensure the ingredients are sourced ethically and sustainably, the brand partners with local Mapuche wild harvesters (the Mapuche are the indigenous people of Chile), and a royalty from all Antü product sales will also be provided to fund local Mapuche initiatives.

Révive Révolve Contouring Massage Roller

The Révive Révolve Contouring Massage Roller [14] (£115) contains three rolling heads — two at the top and one tiny one at the bottom specifically for the eye area — that you can use to gently massage your face, neck, eyes, and even shoulders and décolletage.

Lumene Nordic Ageless Ajaton Radiant Youth Night Cream

The Lumene Nordic Ageless Ajaton Radiant Youth Night Cream [15] (£36), which is part of the Finnish brand's four-part range that launches this month, is a gorgeous, silky cream that not only feels like you're wrapping your face in cashmere but also leaves your complexion smoother, firmer, and all-around happier — thanks to ingredients like copper peptides and plant extracts that help soothe the skin and leave it brighter and glowier.

Shiseido Clear Suncare Stick SPF 50+

Housed in a mess-free applicator tube, the Shiseido Clear Suncare Stick SPF 50+ [16] (£28) is the perfect addition to your bag this summer, whether that's your beach bag, your purse, or your makeup bag (it's not at all sticky, so it goes on nicely under makeup). The completely transparent stick boasts a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ and the brand's SynchroShield technology, which allows the UV protection to become even stronger when exposed to heat, water, or perspiration.

Glow Recipe Avocado Ceramide Recovery Serum

Launching exclusively this month at Cult Beauty, the Glow Recipe Avocado Ceramide Recovery Serum [17] contains ... you guessed it, ceramides and avocado, as well as niacinamide, rice milk, and allantoin, to help strengthen and improve the skin barrier, calm redness, and keep skin hydrated.

Hello Sunday

Hello Sunday is a new brand that just landed in the UK (via Cult Beauty and its own website) that wants to get people excited about wearing sunscreen. It promises sheer, lightweight, convenient formulas that protect your skin and play nicely under makeup, which means they're not greasy, claggy, sticky, or smell like coconuts. The well-edited line includes two face moisturisers and two body moisturisers (one with SPF 30, the other with SPF 50), an SPF 50 lip balm, an SPF 30 hand cream, an SPF 45 serum, a clear sunscreen stick with SPF 30, and the Hello Sunday The One That's Got It All Facial Primer SPF 50 [18] (£20), which is a face primer with serious sun protection (as long as you apply enough, that is). It has a balm-y texture and doesn't pill when you layer foundation or concealer on top of it, and — great news for the summer — is both sweat and water resistant.

Aurelia London Resurfacing Serum

In addition to the brand's proprietary Protida complex that contains skin-soothing probiotics, the new Aurelia London Resurfacing Serum [19] (£64) also contains bakuchiol (the plant-based ingredient that has similar effects on the skin as retinol, i.e. stimulate collagen production and smooth the surface of the skin) and 5% niacinamide, which in this formula helps reduce spots, regulate sebum production, and even out skin tone over time. The combination of the bakuchiol and niacinamide with the probiotics ensures the former two ingredients do their thing without causing your skin barrier to totally freak out.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Watermint Cleansing Balm

Elemis is jumping on the sensory beauty [20] trend with this new, limited edition version of its iconic cleansing Balm. The Elemis Pro-Collagen Watermint Cleansing Balm [21] (£44) is the same great skin-coddling, makeup-removing formula, but with a refreshing ocean-inspired scent.

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum

When it comes to tackling discolouration on the skin, the Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum [22] (£49) is a triple threat. In addition to 10 percent vitamin C, the serum contains licorice root extract, which inhibits the production of an enzyme needed to produce melanin (pigment) in the skin (it also helps remove excess pigment). The formula also includes a white shiitake mushroom extract, an ingredient the brand claims also helps fade dark spots.

Whind Marrakech Light Illuminating Magic Oil

If you're looking to take a sunny holiday with your skin care, get to know the newest beauty brand on the block, Whind. The Whind Marrakech Light Illuminating Magic Oil [23] (£69) is created from a blend of nine oils: argan, jojoba, almond, prickly pear, apricot, desert date, crambe abyssinica seed, meadowfoam, and olive oil. One of our favourite things about the formula is that it's not at all greasy but rather a lightweight illuminating oil, as the name suggests. The smell is also divine. Think: walking through the bustling markets with the faint scent of leather and amber whilst wearing a flowing dress and feeling the sun on your skin.

Wishful Yo Detox Face & Body Enzyme Scrub

Huda Kattan's new Wishful Yo Detox Face & Body Enzyme Scrub [24] (£34) helps tackle breakouts and dull skin whether they're on your face or on your back and chest. The formula contains skin-brightening pineapple and papaya extracts — which feature in the original Yo Glow formula — as well as charcoal (to deep clean the skin and absorb excess oil) as well as AHAs and BHAs (alpha hydroxy acids and beta hydroxy acids [25]), which help both clear out clogged pores and remove lingering dead cells from the surface of your skin.

Honest Beauty The Daily Calm Lightweight Moisturizer

Sometimes when you're on the hunt for the perfect moisturiser, you want something fuss-free and not particularly fancy. Now, just because it isn't fancy doesn't mean it's not special. The Honest Beauty The Daily Calm Lightweight Moisturizer [26] (£35) has become a go-to of ours when we need something that is nonirritating and hydrating and, well, just works a treat. The fragrance-free formula contains hyaluronic acid and the brand's calming lipid phyto-blend, which is designed specifically to help repair the skin's barrier. It sits perfectly under makeup for a daytime cream or great over serums as a light nighttime moisturiser.

Jierra Beauty Superior Complexion Antioxidant Serum

Jierra Beauty founder Danielle Corbert quit her job and launched a skin-care brand during the pandemic after realising that she was using well-being practices to help her own battle with stress and anxiety. After delving deeper, Corbert found that consumers were looking for products that not only were results-driven but helped calm and relax them, too. That's how the Jierra Beauty Superior Complexion Antioxidant Serum [27] (£54) was born. The formula is packed full of vitamins and omegas with ingredients like baobab oil, pomegranate oil, bakuchiol, rosehip oil, and much more.

Dermalogica Melting Moisture Masque

Formulated for very dry skin, the new Dermalogica Melting Moisture Masque [28] (£59) promises to provide the skin with a ton of hydration that will help relieve any tightness, itching, and flaking you might be experiencing. Activated by your skin's natural warmth, as you apply the mask, it transforms from a rich balm to a silky oil, leaving a comforting layer over the skin that's full of soothing and softening ingredients like micro-algae, linoleic acid, mango seed butter, and vitamin E.

111Skin Concentrates

If your skin is in need of some serious luxe TLC, there's no better place to turn than 111Skin. The newest launch, 111Skin Concentrates [29] (£125), is a range of five targeted systems — for reparative, clarity, intensive, treatment, and radiance — which target specific concerns with their potent formulations. Each treatment is designed as a seven-day programme and contains an impressive lineup of result-driven ingredients.

Marie Reynolds Butter Balm

Both an overnight mask and and a multipurpose balm, the Marie Reynolds Butter Balm [30] (£48) helps to hydrate the skin, heal very dry patches (like on your elbows or heels), and soothe sunburns (although, please always make sure to wear your SPF . . . all the time!). Lightweight yet extremely rich and creamy, the balm contains a whole slew of butters (shea, cocoa seed, and mango) and oils (sea buckthorn, avocado, apricot, and baobab, to name a few), as well as vitamin E, hyaluronic acid, and avena sativa, better known as the common oat plant.

Typology Purifying Mask

Formulated with with charcoal and organic nettle, Typology Purifying Mask [31] (£22) helps to regular excess sebum production and deeply clean clogged pores to leave skin looking and feeling fresh.

Bioderma Sébium Lotion

A new addition to the brand's Sebium range, which specifically targets oily-combination and blemish-prone skin, the Bioderma Sébium Lotion [32] (£11) is meant to be used after you've washed your face and before you apply moisturiser to help regulate sebum production. The addition of salicylic acid in the formula means the lotion helps clear out clogged pores, whilst glycerin keeps skin hydrated — which is still super important, even if your skin is oily or acne prone.

Q+A Rosehip Cleansing Oil

Q+A is known for taking some of the guesswork out of skin care with its clear packaging and fuss-free (but effective) formulas. The newest Rosehip Cleansing Oil [33] (£10) launch is no different. Rosehip has high antioxidant properties and when paired with avocado, argan, and hempseed oil, it makes for an excellent hydrating cleaner, which removes all traces of grime and dirt with zero irritation — perfect for sensitive skin.

Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Deep Poor Cleanser

Landing in the UK in mid-April, the Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Deep Poor Cleanser [34] (£28) is inspired by the brand's best-selling Pore Refining Mask. It contains the same mineral-rich Australian pink clay, which helps clear out congestions in your pores. The gel formula also contains exfoliating plant extracts, witch hazel (a natural astringent), and macadamia oil, the latter of which helps keep skin soft and comfortable after you've washed your face.

Oyoma Whipped Shea Butter

Oyoma is a new brand that's landed in the UK this month, created by Ifeoma Onyenokwe-Orhiunu as a way to celebrate her Nigerian heritage (oyoma means "I am well" in Urbhobo, the language of her mother's tribe). Onyenokwe-Orhiunu's debut product is the Oyoma Whipped Shea Butter [35] (£39), an all-over moisturiser that uses shea butter, however whipped to create a lighter, airier formula that won't feel too thick and heavy when used it in a cold climate like here in the UK. In addition to shea butter, the butter also includes aloe vera and a whole slew of oils, include olive, avocado, coconut, and jojoba, making this one seriously soothing and hydrating product that can be slathered all over your skin from head to toe.

Wildsmith Double Clay Refining Mask

As it hints at in the name, the Wildsmith Double Clay Refining Mask [36] (£65) contains two types of mineral-rich clay: kaolin, to gently clear out pores, and bentonite, a clay derived from volcanic ash that has anti-inflammatory properties. But this isn't your average clay mask that will suck all of the moisture out of your skin. The formula also contains hyaluronic acid and capiscum, an ingredient extracted from chillis that actually warms the skin slightly, helping to increase both blood flow and cell activity.

Kate Somerville KateCeuticals Resurfacing Overnight Peel

The INCI list for the Kate Somerville KateCeuticals Resurfacing Overnight Peel [37] (£76) includes gold standard skin-care ingredient after gold standard skin-care ingredient, including glycolic acid, retinol, niacinamide, ceramides, and vitamin E. Together, they promise to help leave your complexion smoother and brighter, by improving skin texture, fading dark spots, and softening fine lines and wrinkles.

Indeed Labs In-Ceramide Daily Moisture Cream

The Indeed Labs In-Ceramide Daily Moisture Cream [38] (£25), launching 15 April, is formulated with not one, not two, but three types of ceramides in order to help strengthen the skin barrier treatment. It works for all skin types but is particularly great if you have sensitive or irritated skin. Use it as a nighttime moisturiser and also under makeup in the morning.

Foreo Luna Play Smart 2

If you've ever been interested in trying Foreo's fan-favourite cleansing brush, this might be your month. The new Foreo Luna Play Smart 2 [39] (£79) is rechargeable and lasts longer than the original (1,000 uses; the Luna Play lasted 100 uses and was nonrechargeable), it measures skin's moisture levels (which you can see via the Foreo app), and the intensities are changed depending on those skin readings. Not only that, but because it's a touch smaller than the original Play brush, the price point is slightly lower.

FaceGym Skincare

This month, after three years of development, the "facial workout" brand launches its own skin-care range, which will not only be available for purchase, but will be used at every "gym" going forward. The collection is made up of four products: the FaceGym Supreme Restructure Firming EGF Collagen Boosting Serum Cream (£95) (which is refillable), the FaceGym Electro-Life Energizing + Brightening Gel Cleanser (£32), the FaceGym Hydro-Bound Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid + Niacinamide Serum (£60), and the FaceGym Youth Reformer Firming Vitamin C + Nootropic Oil-in-Serum (£80). And for each product, FaceGym [40] developed a series of specific applications methods, which you can access and watch by scanning the QR code on the packaging.

Pai The Impossible Glow Bronzing Drops

Pai The Impossible Glow Bronzing Drops [41] (£29) is a skin-care serum and liquid bronzer in one pretty dropper bottle. Loaded with good-for-your-skin ingredients like hyaluronic acid, sea kelp extract (for hydration), and lemon fruit water (rich in vitamin C), the shimmery bronze liquid can be either added to your favourite moisturiser to give your skin a subtle glow, or applied directly to your skin for a more intense bronze hue. It can even double as a gorgeous highlighter if you dab it onto cheekbones with your fingertips.

MAC Studio Radiance Face & Body Foundation

This month, MAC's iconic Face & Body Foundation got a makeover. Before you freak out, don't worry, the formula hasn't changed, but the brand has renamed it to the MAC Studio Radiance Face & Body Foundation [42] (£27) and added 20 more shades. "They haven't fiddled with the formula, it works the same," makeup artist Terry Barber said. "Now, however, there are a lot more shades for darker skin tones, as well added more warmer tones as well."

What makes MAC's Face & Body such an iconic formula and Barber's favourite foundation, actually? "It's a very fine liquid foundation with a good amount of pigment," Barber explained. "When Face & Body launched in the beginning of the '90s, it was the first foundation that was a thin liquid that still had a lot of pigment in it, so for me it toed the line perfectly between a flawless foundation and a tinted moisturiser. And it's still relevant today. It's still in most makeup artist kits because it gives you a real skin finish that has a quality, premium shine. You can put it on with powder or without powder, you can sheer it down totally, or you can layer it up to flawless coverage, but it never breaks or spackles on the skin."

Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation Natural

Clé de Peau is known for its luxurious complexion products. The brand's concealer goes down in history as one of the best makeup products ever made (just ask any makeup artist). So we can't wait to try out the new Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation Natural [43] (£110), which is a luminous and hydrating version of its existing Radiant Fluid Foundation Matte formula. And like the matte version, this new formula is also long wearing and medium coverage.

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots

MAC has another big launch in April with the expansion of its MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots [44] (£17.50). Originally only in three neutral tones, the cream-to-powder eye shadow is now available in 24 colours that range from basics like black and white to shimmers and holographic shades, as well as some fun '70s-inspired matte hues like robin's egg blue and soft peach.

Ardell Aqua Lashes

If you love the look of false lashes but don't have the patience or coordination to faff around with the glue, the new Ardell Aqua Lashes [45] (£6.50) might be worth a try. Available in four styles, these false-lash strips require no glue whatsoever, as they are the first water-activated false lashes to market. Just dip the lash band in warm water for 10-15 seconds, then apply them to your own lashes, and you're good to go.

Byredo Tears in Rain Waterproof Mascara

The Byredo Tears in Rain Waterproof Mascara [46] (£35) feature the same jet-black pigment and miniature brush as the brand's original mascara (the one in the red tube) but has a smudge-proof formula that the brand promises will last for a full 24 hours.

Stila Stay All Day Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner

The Stila Stay All Day Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner [47] (£16) is one of our favourite longwearing eyeliner formula — the black and brown hues have been in our makeup bags for years. This month, as part of the brand's summer 2021 collection, the brand introduces four new metallic shades that are perfect for brighter, sunnier weather. From left to right: Jade, Tiger's Eye, and Japser, shown here.

Hourglass Vanish Blush Stick

Housed in this incredibly chic tube is the new Hourglass Vanish Blush Stick [48] (£45), a cream-to-powder blush formula that has a soft, diffused finish. The pigment is buildable, which means you can layer it from a light stain to a full on flush, and is available in six shades: Adore (berry), Devoted (dusty rose), Loyal (a rosy mauve), Revel (warm-toned red), Scared (coral), and Wonder (soft peach, which is shown here).

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Blush Stick

Inspired by the brand's much-loved foundation stick, Lancôme has now introduced the Lanôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Blush Stick [49] (£29.50), a luxurious cream formula available in three shades: Ambitious Pink, Daring Peach, and Wild Ruby.

By Terry Brightening CC Palettes in Beach Bomb

By Terry is getting in the mood for summer with its limited-edition By Terry Brightening CC Palettes in Beach Bomb [50] (£42) The rose-embossed palette contains four gorgeous shades of the brand's best-selling illuminating powder, all of which are warm in tone and luminous in texture, and can be used in a multitude of ways. The colours include a peachy champagne, a vivid coral (which can be used on the cheeks or the eyes), a vivid fuchsia, and a rosy bronze.

Sculpted By Aimee Cream Luxe Blush

Just in time for warmer temperatures, Irish makeup artist Aimee Connolly presents us with the Cream Luxe collection — a range of cream makeup compacts that include two shades of bronzer, two shades of highlighter, and two shades of blush. We can't wait to wear the Sculpted By Aimee Cream Luxe Blush in Peach Pop [51] (£16), shown here, all summer long. The soft coral hue looks gorgeous alongside bronze smoky eyes and a fake tan.

Pat McGrath Labs LiquiLust Legendary Wear Matte Lipstick

In April, Dame Pat McGrath brought back her matte liquid lipstick, giving the decadent, long-lasting, and intensely-pigmented formula a permanent place in her product range (we originally saw the formula in her initial Lip Kits). The Pat McGrath Labs LiquiLust Legendary Wear Matte Lipstick [52] (£28) comes in eight shades, including Elson 4 (a vivid blue red, shown ere), as well as few pinks and a range of nudes — from soft beige (Nude Cabaret) to a deep bronzed rose (Flesh 3).

Hermès Rouge Hermès Limited-Edition Satin Lipsticks

Hermès launched its line of incredibly luxe, incredibly creamy Rouge Hermès Satin Lipsticks [53] (£62 each) a little over a year ago, and this month, the brand debuts three limited-edition shades for spring/summer 2021. Packaged in chic, colour-blocked (and refillable) tubes, the beautiful new hues include Corail Aqua (an orange-tinged poppy red), Rose Oasis (a vibrant rosy colour that toes the line between fuchsia and magenta), and Beige Ébloui (a cool-toned medium pink).

Westman Atelier Squeaky Clean Liquid Lip Balm

When creating the Westman Atelier Squeaky Clean Liquid Lip Balm [54] (£35), which launches exclusively at Cult Beauty this month, makeup artist Gucci Westman wanted a hydrating treatment product that would still leave behind a beautiful hint of colour. Available in six shades (including Nou Nou, a cool pink tone), the formula is a "gel-ified oil", explained Westman, which means it doesn't feel goopy or sticky. In addition to moisturising dry lips, "it's made to give you that pick-me-up when you're feeling a little blah", Westman said.

Huda Beauty Power Bullet Cream Glow

Super creamy and incredibly, the Huda Beauty Power Bullet Cream Glow [55] (£22) is the newest lipstick formula from Huda Kattan. Available in 14 shades — 7 pretty pink and 7 spicy brown nudes (shown here in Self Made) — the formula offers medium coverage (although it's definitely buildable) with a hint of shine.

Chanel Rouge Coco Bloom Lipstick

Chanel Rouge Coco Bloom Lipstick [56] is a luxurious formula with the pigment, shape, and wear time of a lipstick (eight hours, the brand promises) but with the high shine of a lip gloss and the hydration of a tinted balm — all packaged in a chic black tube featuring the brand's iconic interlocking Cs. Available in 20 shades, Rouge Coco Bloom launches 1 April [57], and we couldn't be more excited to swipe on colours like Vitalité (a vibrant cherry colour), Radiant (a medium rose tone), and Surprise (a ripe berry hue) as we head outdoors and start to see friends again — finally ditching our sweatpants for swingy dresses and summery sandals.

Guerlain KissKiss Shine Bloom Lipstick

Available in 20 flower-inspired shades, the new Guerlain KissKiss Shine Bloom Lipstick [58] (£31) actually contains floral extracts, too. The brand has included winter rose oil extract, in addition to shea butter, to ensure the formula is hydrating as well as incredibly glossy and pigmented.

Votary Tinted Lip Gloss

The Votary Tinted Lip Gloss [59] (£40) follows the same ethos as the rest of the brand's gorgeous, botanical-laced formulas. The sheer, raspberry-tinted gloss contains 12 natural plant oils, along with squalane, which helps keep lips hydrated. And during April and May, Votary will be donating 10 percent of its sales to The Eve Appeal in honour of the charity's Get Lippy campaign [60], which aims to raise awareness of gynaecological symptoms.

Illamasqua Hydra Lip Tints

Part of the makeup brand's summer collection, the Illamasqua Hydra Lip Tints [61] (£20 each), combine two contrasting colours that, when applied, blend together to create a pretty, sheer tint. For instance, pale peach and red create a rosy pink, whilst orange and green combine into a soft mauve. "I chose quite extreme and unusual lip colours for each part", Pablo Rodriguez, Illamasqua's global director of artistry said via press release. "After blending them together, the results are very subtle and super easy to wear. Best way to apply them is directly onto the lips, positioning the centre stripe vertically, so when sliding the bullet from left to right and vice versa, the two shades merge."

Jane Iredale Glow Time Highlighter Stick and Glow Time Blush Stick

In April, natural makeup brand Jane Iredale introduces two face products, both packaged in convenient, travel-friendly stick form. The Jane Iredale Glow Time Highlighter Stick [62] (£32) is available in three pearlescent shades — Eclipse (soft gold), Solstice (champagne), and Cosmos (pearly pink) — while the Jane Iredale Glow Time Blush Stick [63] (£32) comes in five easy-to-wear, shimmery pinks, reds, and peaches.

Lottie London Freckle Tint in Deep

Lottie London launched its faux freckle pen in 2019 and it became an instant best-seller. This month, the brand finally introduces a darker shade of the pen — the Lottie London Freckle Tint in Deep [64] (£7) — that allows people with deeper complexions experience the product.

Davines Heart of Glass Sheer Glaze

Listen up, blondes, because the Davines Heart of Glass collection is here to help. The range consists of four products — shampoo, conditioner, treatment, and glaze treatment — but we're particularly loving the Davines Heart of Glass Sheer Glaze [65] (£22.50). It's a thermal-activated leave-on fluid specifically designed to hydrate and smooth blonde hair, as well as protect from heat whilst you're styling. It's formulated with the Davines-patented Fortifying Botanical Shield, which provides hair fibres with more elasticity to help extend the duration of your blow-dry. Simply apply on towel-dried hair, and blow-dry your hair as usual.

And since this is Davines we're talking about, not only is the product great, but it's also not harming the environment, either. The Heart of Glass range is produced with energy entirely from renewable sources, and all products are carbon-neutral and made with postconsumer recycled plastic.

Olaplex. No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask

Launching exclusively at Look Fantastic, the Olaplex. No. 8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask [66] (£26) is the brand's first at-home treatment mask that helps both hydrate and repair dry, damaged hair. The formula, which is incredibly rich and silky, comes packaged in a mess-free, easy-to-dispense pump, and contains not only the brand's exclusive bond-repairing ingredient (bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate), which helps repair the broken disfulphide bonds in the hair follicle, but also a long list of oils (like avocado and sunflower seed) that help to add moisture and shine throughout. For severely damaged hair, the brand recommends pairing the mask with its No.0 Bond Building Hair Treatment and No.3 Hair Perfector once a week or as needed.

T3 Fit Compact Hair Dryer

Live in a small flat or have a bathroom without a lot of storage space? Then you might want to consider investing in the T3 Fit Compact Hair Dryer [67] (£125), which is 30% smaller, and 20% lighter than a full-size hair dryer — although still offering the same smooth, shiny results. It also still has everything you want from a hair dryer, featuring 3 heat settings, 2 speed settings, a cool shot button, a nozzle, and ion technology that helps cut down on frizz.

L'Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil More Than Shampoo

L'Oréal Paris is singlehandedly trying to reinvent the shampoo market this year, first with its 8 Minute Wonder Water [68], and now with its More Than Shampoo Range, which the brand describes as a "dry clean for your hair". The formula is incredibly rich and creamy, containing a concentrated amount of lipids, which are usually found in hair treatments, leaving hair softer and shinier than before you used it. It's available in three different formulas: Colour Protect, Dream Lengths, and the L'Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil More Than Shampoo [69] (£3.50).

We Are Paradoxx Detox Dry Shampoo

Packaged in an aluminium shaker bottle to ensure it's recyclable, the We Are Paradoxx Detox Dry Shampoo [70] (£20) is a 90% natural formula that uses charcoal and kaolin clay to absorb excess oil from your hair and scalp. Simply shake the power into your roots and massage in with your fingers, and your hair will look as good as new for another day.

Aveda Limited Edition Shampure Nurturing Shampoo Bar

In addition to being plastic-free and better for the environment, the Aveda Limited Edition Shampure Nurturing Shampoo Bar [71] (£14) is also silicone-free, sulphate-free, cruelty-free, and vegan. And the thing is? It is all that and leaves your hair feeling soft and clean. The best part, however, is that throughout Earth Month (so the entire month of April), Aveda will donate $5 from the sale of each Shampoo Bar to nonprofit partner Charity: Water [72], an organisation that aims to provide clean water to people around the world in need.

Faith in Nature Conditioner Bar

Adding to its range of all-natural shampoo bars, Faith in Nature launches four new conditioner bars that are also vegan and cruelty-free and don't contain any silicones or sulphates. The brand created four different conditioner formulas, full of natural oils: Shea & Argan, Dragon Fruit, Lavender & Geranium, and the Faith in Nature Coconut & Shea Butter Conditioner Bar [73] (£7), shown here, which we can't wait to add to our showers this summer.

Frank Body Exfoliating Scalp Serum

The Frank Body Exfoliating Scalp Serum [74] (£17) is an exfoliating, water-based serum that helps break down dead skin cells lingering on your scalp and dissolve away product build-up, which is does with the help of lactic acid. However, the formula also has a soothing and calming effect on the scalp, thanks to the addition of prebiotics and witch hazel extract.

Vita Liberata Heavenly Elixir Tan

The subtle cocoa smell isn't the only reason to fall in love with the new Vita Liberata Heavenly Elixir Tan [75] (£32). It features an innovative formula that allows the tan to develop into a gorgeous medium bronze tone over three days — the same way it would if you spent the weekend at the beach (we can dream, can't we?).

James Read Tan Glow 20 Tan Mousse

Everything about the James Read Tan Glow 20 Tan Mousse [76] (£30) is fast. The formula — which feature a colour guide so that you know exactly where you're applying it — dries down in just 60 seconds, meaning you don't have to awkwardly stand around half naked whilst it dries. The golden glow, on the other hand, develops in just as 20 minutes, although the longer you leave it on, the bronzier your fake tan will become.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle L'Eau

This month, Chanel offers up two light and refreshing ways to wear its iconic Coco Mademoiselle scent during the warmer summer. In addition to a body wash, there's also the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle L'Eau [77] (£71), which is an alcohol-free hair and body mist (the chicest hair and body mist we've ever seen, TBH) that can be tossed in your bag and sprayed liberally throughout the day.

Kayali Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper 25 Eau de Parfum

An intoxicating blend of sweet and spicy, the Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper 25 Eau de Parfum [78] is the brand's most intense fragrance, containing 25 percent perfume oil (it also, coincidentally, took 25 different formulations to land on the exact one, hence the number in the name). Co-founder Mona Kattan wanted the scent to capture feelings of love and romance, which she did by working with her team of perfumes to combine bold floral notes of rose, royal lily, and vanilla orchid, spices like saffron and pink pepper, and a deep, woody base of sandalwood, patchouli, musk, and amber.

Diptyque City Candles

Diptyque's chicer-than-chic City Candles are usually only sold in their respective city — meaning here in London, the only one you could purchase was the Londres Candle. On 15 April, however, Diptyque has made the entire collection available on their website worldwide, meaning you can pick up any of the nine city-inspired candles. Whilst our all-time favourite of the bunch (scent-wise), is New York, for the warmer months ahead, we suggest trying the Diptyque Miami Candle [79] (£68), which smells fresh, sunny, and floral thanks to notes of magnolia, lemon, lime, and vanilla.

Venus Comfortglide Coconut Razor With Olay Moisture Bars

Answer truthfully: do you always use shaving cream before shaving your legs? No? Honestly, same. Sometimes the lazy just gets the better of all of us, and that's exactly where the new Venus Comfortglide Coconut Razor With Olay Moisture Bars [80] (£13) comes in. The nifty new design has five blades and two Olay moisture bars, which contain body butter benefits to help hydrate and soothe your skin as you shave. The moisture bars prevent dryness whilst shaving and also give the smoothest finish ever.

Wild Lemon Meringue Natural Deodorant

One of our favorite natural (and sustainable!) deodorant brands [81] has come out with a new scent for spring. Introducing the Wild Lemon Meringue Natural Deodorant [82] (£25), which the brand promises "emulates lemon meringue pie made with lemon curd filling and fluffy, sweet meringue topping". Apparently, it was a scent requested by Wild fans, but if you're interested, act quickly — there are only 5,000 available.

Sunny The Body Hair Removal Cream

Let's face it: historically, hair-removal creams haven't been a particularly pleasant experience . . . until now. Scented like honeydew melon, the Sunny The Body Hair Removal Cream [83] (£5.50) is here to help take the unpleasantries — you know the smell of rotten eggs — out of the process. Look, we're not saying it doesn't smell at all (it doesn't claim that) — it's definitely got a hint of that removal-cream smell to it — but it's nowhere near as strong as many of the formulas out there, and the added scent of melon absolutely comes through. The product comes with a nifty spatula that promises to get every last hair in as little as three minutes. Easy!
