The Best New Skin Care, Makeup, and Hair Care Launching in February 2021

24/02/2021 - 10:55 AM

In recent years, the beauty industry has grown exponentially, with new launches, collaborations, and celebrity lines [1] coming at us in rapid succession. Every casual scroll through your Instagram feed presents you with new beauty products, and don't even get us started on all those targeted ads you never asked to see. So, if you're someone who loves beauty, how do you keep track of all of the latest and greatest? And more specifically, how do you know which items you can buy in the UK (without paying exorbitant shipping fees, that is)? Well, that's where we come in. Every month, we round up the most exciting launches coming to the UK, from classic brands to indie newcomers [2] and all the creams, sprays, and conditioners in between.

February 2021 isn't like any other month, however, as we are still very much dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. While vaccines [3] are being administered in rapid succession, the UK still remains under a nationwide lockdown, with the only places open being essential shops like grocery stores and pharmacies, and many people back out of work or furloughed. All of this means that the idea of rushing out to buy beauty products — even online — probably isn't at the top of a majority of people's lists right now.

For some people, however, beauty (and, by extension, beauty products) may act as a distraction or a way to maintain some semblance of normalcy right now (a phenomenon known as the "lipstick effect" [4]). And many brands — in addition to donating products to NHS workers [5] and using their production lines to make hand sanitiser [6] — are continuing to roll out new products for anyone who is interested or has the ability to buy. Keep reading to check out the newness, even if it's just to do some virtual window shopping from your sofa.

The Inkey List Fulvic Acid Brightening Cleanser

It's only the second month of the year and The Inkey List is presenting us with yet another innovative ingredient. Fulvic acid, which is the main component of the The Inkey List Fulvic Acid Brightening Cleanser [7] (£11), is a well-known, multi-tasking ingredient in Chinese medicine that the brand thought would work well in an easy-to-use, every day face wash.

"If add glycolic acid plus vitamin C plus azelaic acid it would be fulvic acid," co-founder Marc Curry told POPSUGAR over Zoom. That being said, it's not a harsh cleanser that will strip the living daylights out of your skin. "If you were to put it under a category, fulvic acid is a humic acid, which isn't helpful because isn't hydrating or exfoliating, it's just an acid that has brightening, and anti-inflammatory properties." Curry added.

A nice gel texture that's not too think and not too thin, the cleanser also contains kakadu plum, licorice root, aloe vera, and Nordic peat. All of the ingredients combined with the fulvic acid create a face wash that's powerful enough to remove waterproof makeup, gentle enough to leave skin feeling soft and soothed, and gently brightens your complexion as you use it.

Paula's Choice CBD Oil Retinol

Always at the forefront of ingredient innovation, the latest skin-care offering from Paula's Choice sees two major ingredients — one trendy and one tried-and-true combined into one formula: CBD oil and retinol. In addition to 0.5% retinol, the Paula's Choice CBD Oil Retinol [8] (£47) contains 150 milligrams of full-spectrum hemp-derived organic cannabidiol — commonly referred to as CBD — as the research around full-spectrum CBD is stronger than around CBD isolate, according to founder Paula Begoun. (Full spectrum means you're extracting all the different compounds from the cannabis sativa plant and not just cannabidiol.)

So why combine the two? Well, why not? It actually makes a lot of sense. Topical CBD's most enticing attribute is its ability to calm inflammation and soothe stressed, dry skin. And whilst studies around the ingredient is still underway, the the data is promising [9]. Pair a soothing, anti-inflammatory oil with retinol, the gold-standard ingredient for treating acne and the early signs of ageing that is known to well, stress skin out a bit when you start to use it, and you have a recipe for smoother, clearer, and glowier. It also may be a great retinol option for people who find they can't tolerate the ingredient in higher strengths.

Strivectin Lactic Acid Nightly Retexturizing Serum

If you've got temperamental skin but still want to reap the benefits of a chemical exfoliator, lactic acid [10] may be the way to go (its molecule size is larger, and therefore can't penetrate the skin as deeply, meaning less irritation). "Not only does the lactic acid unclog pores and turn over the cell layers, but it also acts as a humectant [at low concentrations] to seal moisture into the skin," dermatologist Dr Ife J Rodney told POPSUGAR.

Lucky for us, one of our favourite skin-care brands has come out with a serum full of it. The Strivectin Lactic Acid Nightly Retexturizing Serum [11] (£60) promises to leave skin smoother, pores clearer, and your complexion generally glowier thanks to its star ingredient, as well as peptides, blue cypress oil, and the brand's patented NIA-114 complex.

Keys Soulcare

Alicia Keys [12]' new beauty brand, Keys Soulcare, has officially arrived in the UK via Cult Beauty [13] — no exorbitant shipping fees or bugging your friend who's travelling stateside to grab it for you (you know, whenever we can travel again). The range features everything you need to take care of your skin and your soul, from an obsidian face roller to one seriously calming candle.

The star product, in our opinion, is the Keys Soulcare Skin Transformation Cream [14] (£30), which is rich moisturiser a formulated with ceramides and hyaluronic acid to moisturise and plump skin, a naturally occurring mineral called malachite to purify, and bakuchiol, a plant-based ingredient often compared with retinol as it helps improve texture and tone. We tried it [15] before it launched and it left our skin superglowy.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Niacinamide Dark Spot Serum

Known for creating gentle-yet-effective formulas that won't irritate sensitive skin, First Aid Beauty has channeled its efforts into create a formula to help fade the appearance of dark spots, sun spots, hyperpigmentation, post-acne marks, you name it. The First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Niacinamide Dark Spot Serum [16] (£38) features niacinamide (hence the name), a gold-standard skin-care ingredient lauded for its ability to improve skin tone and texture. And in lieu of ascorbic acid, which can often cause irritation in sensitive types, the brand has added licorice root (to soothe and brighten), golden kiwifruit (a fruit that contains a ton of vitamin C), and something called undecylenoyl phenylalanine, which helps reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

Charlotte Tilbury Super Radiance Resurfacing Facial

In 2021, Tilbury looks to follow up her epic 2020 Magic Serum launch [17] with the Charlotte Tilbury Super Radiance Resurfacing Facial [18] (£52), an at-home treatment that promises to leave skin smooth and glowing. "I looked at the radiance market and I felt that I needed to create a renewing, hydrating, resurfacing, glow facial that sloughs off all the dead skin cells and give you that polish, gleaming, glowing, radiant skin," Tilbury told POPSUGAR over Zoom.

Tilbury dubs the formula a "miracle facial in a tube", thanks to the fact it not only exfoliates the surface of the skin and clears out clogged pores, but also hydrates and plumps. To do that, the formula is jampacked with active ingredients. To exfoliate the skin, the brand included glycolic acid (AHA), salicylic acid (BHA), bio agave acids (a source of PHA), and a proprietary ingredient called Exfolactive, which is a natural extract derived from the flowers of the prickly pear cactus and full of oligosaccharides. (For a refresher on all the different types of acids, click here [19].) To keep the skin happy and hydrated as the acids work on the skin, the formula also includes hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid, glycerin, avocado oil, aloe vera, and allantoin (an emollient that protects the skin from moisture loss).

Olay Glow Regenerist Serum

They newest additions to the Olay Regenerist line, the Glow Collection, come in pretty pink and iridescent packaging. But these products are more than just nice to look at. The Olay Glow Regenerist Serum [20] (£15), in particular, is a superconcentrated formula that contains niacinamide, peptides, and hyaluronic acid that, together, will do wonders on evening out skin tone and texture and reducing pigmentation. If you don't like fragranced skin-care products, than you'll likely want to sit this one out; but if you do, the scent — which smells fresh and clean, like a fancy hand soap — is quite lovely.

Clinique Smart Night Clinical MD Multi-Dimensional Repair Treatment Retinol

With a powerful dose of 0.3 percent retinol in the formula, the Clinique Smart Night Clinical MD Multi-Dimensional Repair Treatment Retinol [21] (£56) helps reduce the early signs of ageing like wrinkles and fine lines, and smooth out uneven texture overnight. To make the active ingredients more tolerable, the formula also contains hyaluronic acid, mango seed butter, and squalene for hydration. And as it says right on the packaging, this cream should only be used at night — and followed up by SPF in the morning.

Fenty Skin Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel-Cream + Eye Massage Tool

Rihanna [22] is here to save the day, or at least our tired looking under eyes, with the new Fenty Skin Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel-Cream + Eye Massage Tool [23] (£36). Launching at Harvey Nichols on 12 Feb., the formula is one part eye cream and one part concealer primer that helps brighten and de-puff with the help of hyaluronic acid, green tea, horse chestnut (a plant extract that helps reduce puffiness), and Persian silk tree. Purchase the eye cream on its own, or along with the cooling Massage Tool, if you're really looking for some serious eye brightening.

Caudalíe Vinoclean

Caudalíe [24] relaunched five of its most popular cleansers and toners with sustainability in mind. The new and improved additions are made from 100 percent recyclable plastic to reduce unnecessary plastic waste. The formulas have also been updated to incorporate more naturally-derived ingredients. We particularly love the Caudalie Vinoclean Almond Cleansing Milk [25] (£15), which contains nourishing sweet almond oil and grape seed polyphenols that are chockfull of skin-friendly antioxidants.

MZ Skin Brightening & Hydrating Eye Ampoules

As one of the UK's most prestigious oculoplastic surgeons, Dr. Maryam Zamani knows a thing or two about the eyes and the area around them. That's why we're adding the new MZ Skin Brightening & Hydrating Eye Ampoules [26] (£155), to the top of our must-try list. Inspired by the brand's Glow Ampoules for the face, this 5-day brightening and firming treatment regimen can be used once a month, or any time you feel the areas around your eyes need a pick-me-up. The kit contains 10 serum-filled glass ampoules that you use morning and night for five days, alternating between an eye brightening cocktail, a peptide cocktail (which increases collagen production, helping to increase skin density around the eye area), and a lifting cocktail, the latter of which mixes squalene, caffeine, and hydrolysed wheat protein to firm and de-puff. The way we're feeling after two months of lockdown? This eye-reviving treatment couldn't have come at a better time.

BioEffect Hydrating Cream

With our skin looking dry and dull recently, the BioEffect Hydrating Cream [27] (£90) couldn't have launched at a better time. Formulated without oils or silicones, this fragrance-free hydrator might feel lightweight, but it's formula packs a major moisture punch thanks to hyaluronic acid, Icelandic water, caprylic (or capric triglyceride, which is a mix of fatty acids derived from coconut that helps treat the skin's surface barrier and prevents moisture loss), and a bevy of antioxidants. And like 99.9% of BioEffect's products, the Hydrating Cream also contains the brand's much-lauded EGF (epidermal growth factor) derived from barley grown in Iceland. In a (very brief) nutshell, the plant-based ingredient helps resuscitate basic skin functions, like cell turnover and collagen construction, meaning this cream doesn't just hydrate, it helps plump and smooth, too.

Wishful Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub Jumbo

Huda Kattan launched Wishful Skin [28] exactly a yer ago, and to celebrate, she's gifting us with the Wishful Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub Jumbo [29] (£56), which is an extra-large version of her very first product — and current bestseller.

Seed to Skin The Manuka Nutri-Mask

Not only is manuka honey is high in antioxidants, but it also has antibacterial properties, both of which make it a popular ingredient in a lot of skin-care formulations. Case in point: it's the star ingredient in the new Seed to Skin The Manuka Nutri-Mask [30] (£115). Made up of 55% manuka honey, as well as ferulic acid and hyaluronic acids and a long list of plant extracts, this multipurpose treatment helps hydrate, soothe, and brighten the skin. It may also be a good option for those with acneic skin, although we always recommend doing a patch test before you slather it all over your face.

Omorovicza Midnight Renewal Serum

Makeup artists and beauty editors adore this high-end Hungarian brand, and it just launched a new complexion-enhancing serum worth your attention. The Omorovicza Midnight Renewal Serum [31] (£140) promise your skin will smoother and more radiant with continued use. The formula is no joke. It contains retinaldehyde (a vitamin A derivative) as well as microalgae, and mineral rich Hungarian thermal water that's in all of the brand's products.

Guerlain Abeille Royale Eye Repair Serum

The honey that Guerlain uses in its Abeille Royle range of skin-care products is made in hives on a tiny little island called Ouessant off the coast of Brittany — a UNESCO biosphere reserve that's free from pesticides and parasites. You'll find this honey — as well as a new proprietary ingredient complex the brand calls its BlackBee Eye Repair Technology — in the new Guerlain Abeille Royale Eye Repair Serum [32] (£90). Add two "tensing polymers" into the mix and you have a silky serum that promises to repair, firm, and smooth the delicate skin around the eyes.

Bybi Day Glow

Bybi Day Glow [33] (£16) is an alphy hydroxy toner that uses lactic acid — a gentler AHA than traditional glycolic acid — to exfoliate away dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. It also contains antioxidants and hydrating melissa floral water, which is an upcycled ingredient from essential oil production.

Dr. Pawpaw Overnight Lip Mask

Dr. Pawpaw knows a thing or two about soothing dry, uncomfortable skin, which is why the brand's new Dr. Pawpaw Overnight Lip Mask [34] (£9) is set to be just what our chapped lips need right now. The 99% natural and vegan formula is a more robust version of the original and made with pawpaw (papaya fruit), castor and olive oils, and aloe vera. Slather the gel-like balm all over your mouth before going to sleep to wake up with lips softer and smoother.

Milk Makeup Sunshine Skin Tint SPF 30

When Milk Makeup launched its Milk Makeup Sunshine Skin Tint SPF 30 [35] (£39) in 2016, American beauty editors went wild for the sheer, oil-based foundation that made skin not just glow, but literally radiate light. And while the handy click pen allowed the original formula to be preservative free, the brand wanted to upgrade the fan favourite product to be even cleaner, as well as more sustainable. For instance, the broad spectrum SPF 30 is coral reef-safe, the click pen is bigger but also now refillable, cutting down on 66% of plastic waste, and it comes in a paper box instead of a plastic tube. Even better? Not only did they add more shades for a total of 14 (which yes, could still include a few more, but the formula is quite sheer), but it's also available at Selfridges so you can nab it in the UK.

Becca Cosmetics Light Shifter Dewing Tint

Launching on 8 Feb., the Becca Cosmetics Light Shifter Dewing Tint [36] is somewhere between a blurring primer and a tinted moisturiser. Incredibly sheer, the gel-like balm comes in 8 shades that are not meant to provide a ton of coverage. What the formula does do is hydrate and protect your skin throughout the day courtesy of hyaluronic acid and an assortment of antioxidants, provide the tiniest bit of pigment to even out any mild pigmentation, and deflect light so that after you apply it, your skin looks like you're standing behind the Paris Instagram filter.

Jane Iredale Enlighten Plus Concealer

Jane Iredale Enlighten Plus Concealer [37] (£32) is the newest launch from the mineral makeup brand and not only brightens your under eye area, but it also provides a bit of de-puffing (courtesy of the curved metal applicator) and protection, with broad spectrum SPF 20 or SPF 30.

Trinny London Just a Touch Concealer

This month, Trinny London expands the shade range of its best-selling Trinny London Just a Touch Concealer [38] (£28), adding 11 new hues to make a total of 25. Now more people can experience the creamy, richly-pigmented formula that does a stellar job at nixing redness and hiding spots.

Byredo Prismic Eyeshadow Palette

Full of bold colour, the limited-edition Byredo Prismic Eyeshadow Palette [39] doesn't feature any "safe" or neutral shades, and that's exactly why we're in love with it. Like a painter's palette, the 18-pan kit is full of in-your-face shades in a variety of finishes, including mattes, metallics, and multidimensional shimmers. And sure, many of us aren't eager to whip out yellow and purple eye shadows whilst working from home, but you'll be happy to have this palette on hand once things open up and you're in the mood to play with makeup once again.

Benefit They're Real! Magnet Mascara

Benefit Cosmetics, the brand behind a multitude of mascaras you already know and love, is responsible for the latest (and exciting!) development in the product category. The new Benefit They're Real! Magnet Mascara [40] (£20, originally £22) features an innovative formula that boasts extreme lengthening abilities thanks to a magnetically charged core in the brush and a magnetic mineral-enriched formula (hence the name). Basically, the magnetic brush attracts and pulls the magnetic formula up the length of your eyelashes and then extends it past your natural lash to make them longer. The core in the brush is also good for picking up the perfect amount of product, which keeps your lashes from getting clumpy and weighed down with excess formula, while the zig-zagged bristles evenly distribute the jet-black pigment onto your lashes. Want to know more? Read our full review of the new mascara here [41].

Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liner in Ash

The Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liner in Ash [42] (£20) made its debut on the runway for Beckham's autumn/winter 2021 show [43], and is a semi-matte, graphite grey version of the designer's best-selling pencil liner. And who wouldn't love this formula? It's creamy, easy to blend and smudge, and doesn't move about throughout the day.

Huda Beauty #BomBrows Microshade Brow Pencil

Huda Kattan may have gorgeous eyebrows, but it's only in 2021 — years after she launched her best-selling makeup brand — that she's given us a product that can help us achieve our own brow goals. The Huda Beauty #BomBrows Microshade Brow Pencil [44] (£15) is Kattan's first ever brow product and, to no surprise, she's found a way to make a brow pencil feel new and unique. Available in eight shades (Warm Blonde, Neutral Blonde, Caramel Blonde, Light Brown, Medium Brown, Rich Brown, Black Brown, Soft Black), #BomBrows features the finest tip possible for a brow pencil at 0.9mm, which means you get incredible precision, whilst the formula itself promises to be smudge-proof, waterproof, and fade-proof for 24 hours.

"When the team & I started this journey, it was so important to me that our first ever brow product would let you create any brow shape or style you wanted," Kattan shared on Instagram [45] after debuting the new product. "So the team & I made the THINNEST tip possible for a brow pencil (0.9mm) - literally as thin as a pin - that gives the most realistic, hair-like strokes for you to fill, style and OWN YOUR #BOMBBROWS."

L'Oréal Paris Unbelieva'brow Micro Tattoo Brow Ink Pen

We've seen quite a few brow pens recently, which are felt-tip makeup markers that allow you to draw on tiny little strokes to mimic the look of microbladed brows. However, we've never quite seen anything like the L'Oréal Paris Unbelieva'brow Micro Tattoo Brow Ink Pen [46] (£10), which features a very unusually-shaped tip, which the brand calls a "micro-trident" and to us looks like an itty-bitty bread knife. Either way, the tiny little teeth were designed to mimic the microblading application technique, resulting in groups of finely-drawn lines that resembled brow hairs. Comb the notched side through yoru brows, then you use the very tip of the pen to do any detail work on areas that need more precision. Our only gripe? We wish it came in a few more shades that were on the ashy end of the hair-colour spectrum.

Kjaer Weis The Quadrant Eye Shadow Palette

Whether you prefer organic cosmetics or are interested in making the transition to a more natural makeup bag, Kjaer Weis is a good brand to start with. This month, they've launched two new eye shadow quads that feature shades that can be used day or night, and all year round. Housed in a refillable, plastic-free compact, the Kjaer Weis The Quadrant Eye Shadow Palette [47] (£36) comes in Wanderer, which features four easy-to-wear earthy tones and Spellbound (shown here), with four classic neutral hues — all of which feature a silky texture and certified-organic formula.

Nars Cosmetics St Germain Des Prés Eyeshadow Palette

Nars' latest launch is a celebration of founder François Nars's mother Claudette. Decorated with vivid black-and-prints, the 13-piece collection is also nod to Nars's love of Yves Saint Laurent and Rive Gauche Paris of the '70s. "I love everything about this collection. Every piece, the dots, the hearts — they represent so many things I owned and loved. Everything is so refined," Claudette said of the range [48]. Whilst we're in love with Nars Cosmetics St Germain Des Prés Eyeshadow Palette [49] (£36) and cheek duo, our favourite piece is the one named after his mum — the Nars Audacious Lipstick in Claudette [50], a rust red hue that's as bold and sophisticated ad Claudette herself.

Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Ultra Glow Highlighter

When Dame Pat McGrath [51] presents us with a new highlighter, we take her up on the offer. The Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Ultra Glow Highlighter [52] (£45), part of brand's Divine Rose Collection, is a supremely silky gel powder laced with crystalline pigments that impart an intense gleam to cheekbones, Cupid's bow, or wherever you choose to wear it.

Westman Face Trace Contour Stick in Truffle

The Westman Face Trace Contour Stick in Truffle [53] (£44) is a warm, mocha-coloured cream that works as a contour for medium and tan skin tones, and as a shimmer-free bronzer for fairer complexions.

KVD Vegan Beauty XO Lip Gloss

Available at Boots from 19 Feb., the KVD Vegan Beauty XO Lip Gloss [54], is the brand's first ever lip gloss (yes, really!). The formula, which smells like crème brulée, is vegan (obviously), comes in seven shades, and features a high-shine finish and medium coverage capacity. We love how the formula feels creamy on lips — nearly balm-like — versus sticky and tacky, and the fact the shades feel more subversive than sweet, like Magnolia (a chestnut brown) and Azalea (a deep cranberry).

e.l.f. Mint Melt Collection

e.l.f.'s Mint Melt collection [55] drops in February and is comprised of makeup, skin care, brushes, and some dreamy pastel-coloured reusable cotton rounds. In addition to the aforementioned e.l.f. Mint Melting Cleansing Cloud [56] (£4), we're also excited to try the e.l.f. Mint Melt Eyeshadow Quads [57] (£4).

Carrington x Lottie London Box

Available exclusively at ASOS this month is the Carrington x Lottie London Box [58] (£21), which, as you can probably tell by the name, sees TikTok star Carrington Durham team up Lottie London for an epic 5-piece kit. The beauty box features some of Carrington's favourite products from the brand, including the Oil Slick Cherry Lip Gloss, Stamp Liner — Wing Edition, Lottie Palette in The Rusts, Tapered Blending Brush, and a Dew & Glow Setting Spray.

Indeed Labs Hydraluron Tinted Lip Treatment

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Indeed Labs launches a crimson version of its popular Indeed Labs Hydraluron Tinted Lip Treatment [59] (£15), arriving mid-February on both Feelunique.com and Lookfantastic.com.

The Inkey List PCA Bond Repair Hair Treatment

In typical Inkey List fashion, the brand has found an exciting ingredient to feature in its newest launch, the The Inkey List PCA Bond Repair Hair Treatment [60] (£13). "We came across this ingredient about two years ago and found it really interesting," co-founder Colette Laxton told POPSUGAR. "PCA is used in Brazilian hair salons because the bond-rebuilding formulas we're familiar with here don't work as well on really thick, coily, kinky hair. PCA, on the other hand, truly works on all hair types."

"PCA is a really short, highly-penetrative molecule, and this is why it's different to other things like out there," says co-founder Mark Curry. "Because it's short and because of the way it interacts with the hair filament itself means that it doesn't just work on disulphide bonds (like most bond-building treatments), it works on the water bonds and ionic bonds as well, which is why it will have an instant effect in terms of smoothing frizz and flyaways." This is a good thing because when it comes to curly, coily hair, disulphide bonds are hard for products to reach. "If you imagine straight hair, product can get to every part of the strand," explained Curry. "But if you put a bend in the strand, you lose about 25% of that surface area." The fact PCA repairs all three types of bonds in the hair means that people with curly and coily hair will see better results versus a product that only treats disulphide bonds.

With all the science-y bits out of the way, here's the TL;DR: This leave-in treatment works really, really well. Just spray it on freshly-washed hair and you'll notice once your hair dries (whether by air or dryer), that it looks smoother and feels stronger — almost like how your hair feels after it's just been cut.

Afroani Rose Hair Combs Set

Not only are the comb and the hair pick in the Afroani Rose Hair Combs Set [61] (£11) absolutely beautiful, and great for your hair (because of how gentle they are), but they're also good for the planet. The combs are comprised of cellulose acetate, which is a plant-based plastic that is made out of natural raw materials and biodegradable.

Herbal Essences Essences of Life Argan Oil Repair & Renew Intensive Mask

Herbal Essences new "Essences of Life" range promises great-looking hair, and some good news for the environment. The entire collection (which includes three different formulas: Repair & Renew, Hydrate & Smooth, and Nourish & Sooth) is vegan and cruelty-free and uses responsibly-harvested aloe extracts. Additionally, as part of the launch, Herbal Essences has partnered with Kew Garden's Millennium Seed Bank, to help save 20 endangered plant species in the UK in an effort to promote plant biodiversity.

Each treatment formula includes a hair mask, an oil mist, and a hydrating concentrate. We have our eyes set on the Herbal Essences Essences of Life Argan Oil Repair & Renew Intensive Mask [62] (£10) to help bring some life back to our very dead, dry ends.

Undone by George Northwood

When it comes to relaxed, effortless hair, London-based hairstylist George Northwood knows a thing or two. His clients include the likes of Alexa Chung, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, and the Duchess of Sussex, all of whom have hair that always looks luxe, healthy, and perfectly imperfect. Seven years after opening up his own salon in Fitzrovia, Northwood is bringing his expertise to the masses courtesy of his own hair product range called Undone by George Northwood, which is available both at Boots and on Northwood's website.

The collection is comprised of three shampoo and conditioner duos (Undirty, Unparched, and Undamaged), a weekly detox shampoo (Unpolluted), and three styling products. We can't wait to try
the Undone by George Northwood Unpolluted Shampoo [63] (£18) and the Undone by George Northwood Unpolluted Shampoo [64] (£18), two star performers in the range.

Aveeno Gentle Moisture+ Rose Water & Chamomile Blend Shampoo & Conditioner

Also launching at Boots in February is Aveeno's new hair-care range, which includes six different shampoos and conditioners all formulated around the brand's singiature soothing ingredient: colloidal oats. And while some formulas are better for drier hair and others curly or fine, what the shampoos and conditioners all have is common is that they're gentle and focused on treating and taking care of your scalp as well as your hair. They're also all safe for sensitive skin types. "The new formulas are sulphate free and pH balanced, respecting the scalp and hair's natural pH levels by gently cleansing hair without stripping it of its natural oils and helping to maintain a healthy moisture balance for the scalp," trichologist Stephanie Sey, who partnered with the brand for the launch, said about the range.

We're looking forward to trying the Aveeno Gentle Moisture+ Rose Water & Chamomile Blend Shampoo [65] (£9) and Aveeno Gentle Moisture+ Rose Water & Chamomile Blend Conditioner [66] (£9), but if you have thick and curly hair, the Frizz Calming+ Almond Oil Shampoo and Conditioner is worth checking out.

T3 Curl ID

In 2020, T3 debuted its Luceia ID, a straightener with a smart-sensor interface that allows you to punch in information about hair texture, type, length, and degree of colour treatment, ensuring you are given a heat setting calculated for you based on your individual hair type. In 2021, T3 applied that same technology to T3 Curl ID [67] (£289), a 1.25" curling iron with a clamp and ceramic barrel that promises shiny, soft, long-lasting curls without totally ruining your hair. And whilst not part of the splashy new technology, we have to say we also appreciate the addition of a cool-touch tip, which keeps you from burning your fingers off as you style your hair.

Babyliss Hydro-Fusion Hair Dryer

Babyliss hair dryers are beloved by professional hairstylists both in the UK and US and for good reason. They're high quality, faff-free hair-dryers that leave hair looking smooth and shiny. Oh, and most of them don't cost over £100. If you have fine hair, Babyliss's newest launch is one to look into. The Babyliss Hydro-Fusion Hair Dryer [68] (£60) was made to be used on fine hair — whether straight, wavy, or curly (it comes with diffuser). But it's not just the tool's two speeds, three temperature settings, and slim nozzle that make it good for those with finer hair. It's the fact the brand has figured out a way to keep hair moisturised whilst you're drying it.

How the heck does this hydrate you hair whilst blasting it with really hot air"? The brand engineered the dryer with something it calls "Advanced Plasma Technology", a system that combines positive and negative ions to keep hair moisturised while smoothing the hair to fight frizz. And if you're still skeptical, it might interest you to know that during the soft launch of the hair dryer back in January, it's already sold out twice and received multiple five-star reviews.

No Knot Co Curl Lilac Dreams Essentials Set

No Knot Co has brought back it's best-selling Curl Essentials set in a dreamy shade of lilac. No Knot Co Curl Lilac Dreams Essentials Set [69] (£30). Stashed inside the brush bag is a shampoo brush (which doubles as a scalp massager), a detangling brush, and a curl comb — everything you need to keep spirals, coils, and kinks healthy and happy on wash day.

Lee Stafford Scalp Love Range

Lee Stafford Scalp Love Surge of Moisture Shampoo [70] (£9)

Lee Stafford Scalp Love Surge of Moisture Conditioner [71] (£9)

Lee Stafford Scalp Love Surge of Moisture Leave-In Tonic [72] (£12)

We Are Paradoxx Shamopo and Conditioner Duos

Until now, the plastic-free, sustainable Irish hair brand has offered the Volume Shampoo and the Repair 3-in-1 Conditioner — both gorgeous, natural, vegan formulas that we fell in love with. This month, they launched each product's perfect match: the We Are Paradoxx Repair Shampoo [73] (£18), which helps strengthen and smooth the hair with combination of Carrageen moss, ginseng, babassu, and hazelnut and coconut oils; and the We Are Paradoxx Volume Conditioner [74] (£20), a formula infused with Irish hops and white nettle to help leave hair looking and feeling full and bouncy as it hydrates.

Coco & Eve Beauty Sleep Pillow Case

Coco & Eve's Nourishing Hair Masque [75] is hands down one of our favourite products. It leaves hair soft and silky and smells like a tropical holiday (remember those?). This month, the brand gives us another way to keep our hair looking and feeling great with the Coco & Eve Beauty Sleep Pillow Case [76](£20). Sleeping on the 100% vegan and cruelty-free silk pillow will will mean softer, smoother hair when you wake up, with less tangles and frizz — but without paying a fortune for real silk.

Frank Body A Clean Deodorant

In February, Frank Body debuts its "Everyday Range", a five-piece collection of gentle, uncomplicated body products that will keep skin feeling happy. Another plus? Nothing is more than £12. The collection includes a body wash (both unscented and Milk & Honey Scented), a salicylic face wash, and the Frank Body A Clean Deodorant [77] (£12), which is an aluminium-free, alcohol-free deodorant that comes in an unscented and cucumber & green tea-scented versions.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Dream Body Cream

K-beauty brand Glow Recipe makes its first foray into the body category this month with the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Dream Body Cream [78] (£25). The juicy-smelling formula is packed with actives, including hyaluronic acid, hydrating watermelon extract, liquefied watermelon seed butter (which is a blend of mango butter plus watermelon seed oil), and AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) derived from the hibiscus flower, which provides the cream with an exfoliating effect that's gentle enough to be used every day to keep skin feeling soft and smooth.

Kiya Cosmetics Lavender Whip Shea Butter

Available at Urban Outfitters or from the brand's own website, the new Kiya Cosmetics Lavender Whip Shea Butter [79] (£8) comes in five gorgeous scents — Original, Coconut, Citrus, Lavender and Peppermint — and is made with raw unrefined shea butter imported directly from Ghana (as well as olive oil, rosemary oil, and castor oil to name a few). For £8, you're getting an incredibly multipurpose product. Use it like a body cream to hydrate dry skin, and in your hair as a moisturising mask, a daily moisturiser in between wash days, and to style twist outs, braid outs, and rod sets.

Sunday Riley Charcoal Smoothie Jelly Body Scrub

The brand that brought you Good Genes and C.E.O. Glow is not entering the body category with the beautifully (and sustainably) packaged Sunday Riley Charcoal Smoothie Jelly Body Scrub [80] (£32). Like Sunday Riley's skin-care offerings, this exfoliator is packed with actives, including salicylic acid, natural exfoliating powders, and charcoal, which combined help to smooth away rough, bumpy textures and clean out clogged pores that can lead to bacne and ingrown hairs.

Dove Deep Moisture Hand Sanitiser

Over the past year, we've just become accustomed to carrying around a bottle of hand sanitiser in our bags, as well as some hand cream to counteract the dry, tight feeling the antibacterial gels and sprays leave behind. With the new Dove Deep Moisture Hand Sanitiser [81] (£3), you get both a hand sanitiser and hand cream in one. The formula is 99.9% effective against germs and viruses, but also contains moisturising ingredients found in Dove's Moisture Renew Blend to leave hands feeling soft and comfortable after you've applied it.

Isle of Paradise Shape & Glow Big Blending Brush

The Isle of Paradise Shape & Glow Big Blending Brush [82] (£12) is inspired by brand founder Jules Van Hep's favourite tanning tool. Like a buffing brush for your foundation, the soft, short, tightly-packed vegan bristles help you effortlessly blend away self-tanner streaks or any spots where you've applied too much — made easy work thanks to handle that fits nicely in your palm. It's also great if you're someone who likes to contour with their fake tan formula.

James Read Glow20 Facial Tan Serum

Launching this month in the fake tan category is the James Read Glow20 Facial Tan Serum [83] (£25), which delivers a golden glow in 20 minutes (hence the name) both thanks to the DHA (the sugar that reacts with proteins on your skin's surface to causes it to turn bronze) and ingredients like vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and aloe vera in the formula — the latter of which help keep your skin hydrated and bright. The best part, though? This serum is meant to fit in with the rest of your skin-care routine, not add an extra step, as you can apply between your cleanser and moisturiser.

St.Tropez Tan X Ashley Graham Ultimate Glow Kit

This month, not only did St. Tropez announce Ashley Graham as its new brand ambassador, but it's also launched a limited edition set in partnership with the American model. The St.Tropez Tan X Ashley Graham Ultimate Glow Kit [84] (£38) includes the brand's new Self Tan Whipped Crème Bronzing Mousse, as well as a special Applicator Mitt featuring Graham's signature.

"I love a natural, sunkissed glow and St.Tropez has always been my trusted go-to for their incredible formulas," Graham said via press release. "I am so excited to be launching this Limited Edition collection with them ... This formula is quick, easy to use, customisable and gives a hydrated, natural looking tan. It's a game changer! I know everyone will love it as much as I do. But it's only here for a limited time, so get one while you can!
