The Best New UK Beauty Products of October 2019

The Best New Beauty Products Launching in the UK in October 2019

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

In recent years, the beauty industry has grown exponentially, with new launches, lines, and collaborations coming at us in rapid succession. Every casual scroll through your Instagram feed presents you with new beauty products being revealed (especially if you follow someone with the last name of Kardashian or Jenner), and let's not even get started with Facebook ads. So how do you keep track of all of the beauty newness going on? And more specifically, how do you know which items you can buy in the UK (without paying exorbitant shipping fees, that is)? Well, that's where we come in.

We combed though the digital shelves of Space NK, Cult Beauty, Superdrug, Boots, and beyond to find the best new beauty launches of the month, rounding them up in one place to make it easy for you. Maybe you're in the market for something specific — like a new foundation or Autumn fragrance — or maybe you just want to peruse the new innovations in skin care and makeup. Either way, here's an easy way to determine what's worth the splurge this month. When it comes to beauty products launching in October, there's lots of excitement — an ultramatte liquid lip colour range from Chanel, a volumising mousse from Virtue Labs, and Christophe Robin's first foray into styling products. These are just a few of the beauty goodies you'll discover if you keep reading.

Huda Beauty Limited Edition Nude Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes

"My nude is not the same as your nude and I'm aware of that and sensitive to it. So, we approached eyeshadow with this in mind, to prove we understand it and we're doing something about it beyond complexion," Huda Kattan says of her new launch, the Huda Beauty Limited Edition Nude Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes (£27 each).

Available in three shades: Light Nude Obsessions (a mix of warm and cool tones like champagne, brown, and even an unexpected lilac), Medium Nude Obsessions (warm, spicy hues such as chestnut, deep cocoa, rose gold, copper, and coral), and Rich Nude Obsessions (also a combination of warm and cool colours including burnished gold, crimson red, espresso, and dusty rose), each palette contains nine powder eye shadow formulas — five matte and four complementary shimmery metallic ones.

Glossier Futuredew

If you're someone who doesn't like your skin to be dewy or shiny, this product is not for you. But if you like your skin to really glow — like how it does right after you apply all of your skin-care products in the morning — well, then Glossier Futuredew (£23) is what you've been waiting for. "In 2019, fewer women than ever are wearing full faces of makeup. Skincare and the immediate glow that comes from its precise application .... has become the holy grail look," Glossier founder Emily Weiss wrote in an Instagram post announcing the launch. "So we invented Futuredew: an oil-serum hybrid with the perfect texture (you just have to try it) and 'dew factor' that has a certified 12-hour 'wear time.' This, my friends, is your best skin ever—in a bottle."

The oil-serum hybrid is a lightweight blend of four oils (jojoba, grape seed, evening primrose, and rosehip), squalene (derived from sugarcane), fruit extracts, and light-reflecting minerals. And while it's super-dewy effects are meant to be immediate, Weiss and the brand promise that not only will your glow last all day, but the ingredients in the formula will also improve your complexion over time. "Every day I wake up glowier and smoother," Weiss added in her IG announcement. "I'm not kidding!!!"

Moroccanoil Color Depositing Masks

Moroccanoil's mission has long been to keep our hair strong, soft, and healthy thanks to its argan oil-infused range of care and styling products. Now it's looking to help us maintain the quality of our hair colour with its new range of Moroccanoil Color Depositing Masks (£29 each). The deep-conditioning treatment contains amino acids (to help strengthen the hair and add shine), apricot kernel oil (to hydrate and soften), hydrolysed soy protein (to condition), and panthenol (to make it even more hydrating), as well as pure pigments that get deposited into the hair while its also being pampered. The mask comes in seven shades: Champagne, Platinum, Hibiscus (pink), Aquamarine, and Rose Gold for light to medium blond hair colours, and Bordeaux (deep crimson) and Cocoa for light to dark brought hair colours.

Sisley Velvet Sleeping Mask

Sisley is known for making a good face mask. It's award-winning Black Rose Cream Mask seriously transforms your skin overnight, leaving it softer, smoother, and way glowier than before you went to bed. That's why we can't wait to try the Sisley Velvet Sleeping Mask (£93), which couldn't have launched at a better time. With ingredients like saffron flowers, thyme honey, shea butter, as well as macadamia and cottonseed oils, this overnight mask promises to coddle and hydrate very dry, irritated skin.

Dr. Roebuck's Ningaloo Copper Peptide Firming Serum

The Dr. Roebuck's Ningaloo Copper Peptide Firming Serum (£55) contains only six ingredients, including hyaluronic acid, banksia flower, and copper tripeptide. But it's the latter that's the real star of the skin-firming show. The antioxidant helps instigate collagen production and increase cell turnover to help both firm the skin and give it a just-left-the-spa glow.

Velour Lashes Effortless Kit

Beyoncé wore them. Meghan Markle wore them (on her wedding day, NBD), and now you can wear them because Velour is finally available in the UK, launching at Boots this month. What makes these false lashes so good? The band is invisible and flexible, the hairs are arranged so they look completely natural, and they come pre-cut so you don't have to whittle away at them with nail scissors and a shaky hand. My current favourite is the Velour Lashes Effortless Kit (£27), which includes the brand's shortest strips — so therefore the most natural looking — as well as glue and a pair of tweezers.

Promise by Jennifer Lopez

While Jennifer Lopez has been busy promoting Hustlers and just generally being our life inspiration, she's also been preparing to launch her 25th fragrance, Promise by Jennifer Lopez (£23 - £43). And yes, you read that correctly: this is her 25th fragrance. And you can tell she's honed her perfumer skills because this scent is really lovely. It's warm and cosy, but also with a mouthwatering blend of berries, tangerine, and honeysuckle that makes it both juicy and sparkly. Pick up a bottle, and we predict it'll become your new go-to Autumn scent for years to come.

Virtue Volumizing Mousse

This isn't so much a mousse to enhance curls, it's a mousse that is truly meant to be used prior to be a blowout, to create memory before throwing it up into an updo, and to thicken the hair," Adir Abergel, hairstylist and creative director for Virtue, told POPSUGAR about the brand's new
Virtue Volumizing Mousse (£34). "I spent a lot of time in the lab making sure that I found a mousse that was manageable in the sense of not being sticky or stiff but was lightweight and didn't weigh down the hair. When you touch it, it's almost pillowy, and because the formula is little watery, it doesn't become too dense."

Curél

Curél is one of the most popular brands in Japan amongst people who suffer from sensitive skin issues, and it's body-care products are a favourite drugstore buy in the US. The secret behind the gentle-yet-effective formulations is the brand's proprietary ingredient that mimics our natural ceramides, which are lipids that form our skin's protective barrier and whose breakdown is what can cause dryness and sensitivity. Chock full with the synthetic ceramides, Curél products help repair our skin's protective barrier to help soothe and hydrate sensitive skin on both the face and body.

Why are we going on about all of this? Because 20 years after its creation, the brand finally comes to the UK this month. Exclusively at Boots, the brand launches with a small selection of face products: the Makeup Cleansing Gel, the Foaming Face Wash, the Moisture Facial Lotion Enrich, the Moisture Facial Milk, the Intensive Moisture Eye Zone Essence, and the Intensive Moisture Facial Cream (£19), which will be a great product to invest in as the air gets chillier and dryer.

Christophe Robin Care X Style Line

Christophe Robin's chicer-than-chic product line has consisted solely of haircare products, focusing on innovative (and more importantly, clean) shampoos, colour-depositing masks, and leave-in conditioners. Starting this month, the famed French hair colourist makes his first foray into styling products with the Care X Style Line.

Staring off small, the first two Care X Style products include the Christophe Robin Luscious Curl Cream With Flaxseed Oil (£28), a hydrating curl definer that contains flaxseed oil (rich in omegas and fatty acids to help restore hair's elasticity) and aloe vera, as well as the Christophe Robin Anti-Frizz Rescue Milk With Shea Butter (£30), a frizz-reducing spray that's packed with fatty acids to help condition and strengthen the hair fibres without the ingredients building up onto your scalp.

Kitsch Satin Lined Jersey Sleep Beanie

The Kitsch Satin Lined Jersey Sleep Beanie (£18, ships internationally) is stretchy jersey on the outside, and luxurious silk on the inside, which creates a friction-free barrier for your curls and coils against the breakage, tangles, and thinning that can be caused from your hair rubbing against the pillow as you sleep.

Nuxe Honey Lip Balm

The Nuxe Honey Lip Balm (£10.50), which is a favourite of beauty editors and makeup artist alike, got fancy new packaging for the Autumn/Winter months to remind people of the brand's sustainability commitments that include protecting the bees (from which they get the honey for their products) and respecting nature.

This formula is a classic for good reason: the light scent isn't distracting and doesn't have a discernible taste (a good thing!). It leaves lips feeling soft and plump, without making them sticky, slippery (so no lipstick can go on top), or leaving behind any grittiness. And it's so hydrating that we sometimes even rub a little over our cuticles to keep them from drying out and peeling.

Chanel Rouge Allure Ink Fusion

Chanel entered the liquid lip game in 2016 with Rouge Allure Ink Liquid Lip Colour, a formula that was so good, it won multiple awards. Fast forward three years, and now the brand is taking things a step further with the Chanel Rouge Allure Ink Fusion (£31), a liquid lip formula that's even more matte and even more pigmented — all while promising to stay put (and comfortable for up to eight hours.

Available in 12 shades, the formula contains vitamin E and silica microbeads, both of which help to keep the highly concentrated liquid lipstick malleable whilst on your mouth, not cracking or drying like many of the ultramatte options on the market.

Nars Limited Edition Studio 54 Audacious Lipsticks

Yes, it may only be October, but festive beauty launches are already starting to roll out (can you believe how many Advent calendars you can already buy?!). Nars' festive collection is inspired by Studio 54, the famed New York City nightclub that epitomised the disco era. While there are tons of fabulous products in the collection, each one oozing with glamour, our eyes immediately went to the Nars Limited Edition Studio 54 Audacious Lipsticks. The brand chose four of its bestselling shades — Mona, Carmen, Barbara, and Jane — and packaged each in a flashy, sparkly tube that gives us disco fever without even having to swipe them on.
