The 62 Best New Skincare, Makeup, and Haircare Launching in September 2020

30/09/2020 - 08:10 AM

In recent years, the beauty industry has grown exponentially, with new launches, lines, and collaborations coming at us in rapid succession. Every casual scroll through your Instagram feed presents you with new beauty products being revealed, and let's not even get started with all those targeted ads you never asked to see. So if you're someone who loves beauty, how do you keep track of all of the latest and greatest? And more specifically, how do you know which items you can buy in the UK (without paying exorbitant shipping fees, that is)? Well, that's where we come in. Every month, we round up the most exciting launches coming to the UK, from classic brands to indie newcomers [1] and all the creams, sprays, and conditioners in between.

September 2020 is not like every other month, however. We are into our sixth month of the coronavirus pandemic, with lockdown restrictions simultaneously loosening up and being reinstated depending on where you live the UK [2]. And whilst the majority of shops have opened and the government is eager to get people back out and about [3], social-distancing measures and new safety-and-sanitation regulations mean the in-store shopping experience will look and feel very different [4] than before COVID-19. Couple that with the fact that some people may still be out of work or furloughed, and high-risk individuals may need to self-isolate, and rushing out and buying new beauty products — in-store or online — probably isn't at the top of a majority of people's priority lists right now.

But for some people, beauty (and, by extension, beauty products) may act as a distraction or a way to maintain some semblance of normalcy right now (a phenomenon known as the "lipstick effect" [5]). And many brands — in addition to donating products to NHS workers [6] and using their production lines to make hand sanitiser [7] — are continuing to try to roll out new products for anyone who is interested or has the ability to buy. Keep reading to check out the newness — even if it's just to do some virtual window shopping from your living room.

BareMinerals Skinlongevity Long Life Herb Serum

If this bottle of serum looks familiar, that's because it's not an entirely new product. BareMineral first launched its Skinlongevity Vital Power collection a couple of years ago, which included an array of skin-care products that all contained the "Long Life Herb", an herb native to Okinawa, Japan, the inhabitants of which enjoy the longest life expectancy of anyone on Earth. The herb has been part of the Okinawan diet for hundreds of years and contains high amounts of calcium, magnesium, potassium, and polyphenols — not to mention a whole lot of antioxidants.

This month, the brand introduces a revamped Skinlongevity serum that features a new formula and new name. The BareMinerals Skinlongevity Long Life Herb Serum [8] (£37) not only contains the "Long Life Herb", but now also includes niacinamide, an ingredient recommended by dermatologists for its brightening and soothing abilities (it is also believed to strengthen the skin barrier and smooth wrinkles), making this one seriously powerful complexion enhancer.

Skingredients

Skingredients is a new brand out of Ireland, the brainchild of Jenn Rock, a former aesthetician turned skin-care expert best-known as The Skin Nerd on Instagram [9]. After years of running her own online skin consultation business called the Nerd Network, Rock realised that while the skincare industry and grown exponentially, people were still confused about what to use on their skin. "People seemed demotivated," Rock told POPSUGAR. "There are lots of amazing brands out there, but zero education." So Rock set out to change that, launching Skingredients, a collection of six products with a focus on education and simplicity.

The range is broken up into the "Core 4", with each of the products numbered to denote the order in which you apply them and the smart packaging that dispenses the exact amount you need in one pump. There's the 01 PreProbiotic Cleanser, 02 Skin Veg Pre-Serum (which contains hyaluronic acid and polyhydroxy acid), 03 Skin Protein (a vitamin A and C serum), and 04 Skin Shield SPF 50 PA+++ (a gorgeous mineral-based sunscreen that we highly recommend checking out). Additionally, Rock created two "Mix + Match" products, the Sally Cleanse (a strong salicylic acid face wash) and Skin Good Fats, (a rich ceramide-laced balm), that can be incorporated into your routine if you are experiencing spots or need more hydration.

Only months after launch in Ireland, the brand's best-seller in actually the Skingredients Core 4 Bundle [10] (£127), which includes all four key products. After giving these items a test run for the past couple of weeks we'd say the set is worth checking out, whether you're confused about skin care or not.

Aurelia CBD Super Serum & Probiotics

The Aurelia CBD Super Serum & Probiotics [11] (£72) features not one but three buzzy skin-care ingredients: CBD isolate, probiotics, and hyaluronic acid. With the first two powerful anti-inflammatories and HA focused on hydration, you can bet this is one supremely soothing and hydrating treatment for your skin.

Lightweight yet highly concentrated, the serum actually doesn't contains CBD oil. In addition to hemp oil extract, the serum is also formulated with CBD crystals (making Aurelia one of the first brands to do so) that are isolated and purified from the female hemp plant, meaning it's less diluted than CBD oil. And because it's an isolate versus full spectrum (e.g. whole plant), you can be sure it won't be affected by any other cannabis compounds in the plant.

Strivectin Daily Reveal Exfoliating Pads

If you're experiencing what we've now coined "maskne", or all the stress of recent months has manifested itself into a whole lot of spots, then we suggest adding the Strivectin Daily Reveal Exfoliating Pads [12] (£39) into your routine. The peel-in-a-pad is gentle enough that you can use it everyday and not experience any sensitivity (no stinging, no redness, nothing ... although, if your skin is temperamental, definitely do a patch test, first), but contains a powerful blend of acids (gycolic, azelaic, polyhydroxy, and tranexamic), as well as vitamin B3, to break down dead skin cells and clear out dirt and grime trapped in your pores. I've been using them three-to-four days a week for the last three weeks and the breakouts around my chin have reduced significantly.

Votary Intense Overnight Mask

Combining hyaluronic acid with plant oils and extracts, the Votary Intense Overnight Mask [13] (£85) is both incredibly hydrating and calming to the skin. Infused with the brand's nourishing night oil blend (avocado, rosehip, and apricot to name a few), the pale-pink-coloured cream also features narcissus and camu extracts to help brighten your complexion, as well as oat flower, which not only helps reduce redness, but also acts like a duvet for your face — comforting it whilst also wrapping it in a protective layer (founder Arabella Preston notes that oat flower is a natural and non-irritating replacement for mineral oil). Apply this to your face before you go to bed and you'll wake up looking refreshed and glowing.

Augustinus Bader The Essence Exfoliating Toner

Augustinus Bader's The Essence Exfoliating Toner [14] (£65) is one useful bottle to have as part of your skin-care routine. The multi-purpose liquid is a pore-clearing toner, an at-home peel, and a hydrating essence in one single step. In addition to the brand's proprietary TFC8 amino acid complex that's in all of its products (and promises to have strong reparative properties), the essence also includes three hydroxy acids — phytic, salicylic, and gluconalactone — as well as fermented wasabi and white peony flower, the combination of which gently exfoliates the skin's surface and clears out pores (that would be the salicylic acid), while still hydrating and repairing damaged cells.

U Beauty Super Smart Hydrator

Just four months after launching her innovative Resurfacing Compound [15], fashion influencer and beauty entrepreneur, Tina Craig, adds a second product to her skin-care range that will be equally as interesting to skincare nerds, the U Beauty Super Smart Hydrator [16] (£160).

The Super Smart Hydrator is a moisturising and reparative face cream that utilises the brand's proprietary SIREN molecule, which is able to only target stressed and damaged skin cells. However, instead of carrying retinyl palmitate and vitamin C into the skin like the Resurfacing Compound, Craig wanted a way to deliver hyaluronic acid to stressed and damaged skin cells in the same way. That meant her team of scientists had to go back to the drawing board and develop a new version of the SIREN molecule. It took two years and 15 different formulations to create, but they eventually ended up with the HYDRA-SIREN molecule, which carries dehydrated long-chain hyaluronic acid past the skin barrier and delivers it only to the skin cells in need of moisture. And it looks like their hard work paid off. Similar to her first launch, the Super Smart Hydrator already had a long-list of fans before it even launched (it's already available in the US but comes out here in the UK on 15 Sept.), including celebrity-favourite aesthetician Joanna Czech (who now sells it in her Texas boutique) and Billy Idol (yes, you read that correctly).

Wishful Get Even Rose Oil

Huda Kattan's newest skin-care launch is the Wishful Get Even Rose Oil [17] (£55), which contains — you guessed it — rose oil (rosehip and damascus rose oils to be exact). But Kattan didn't stop there. The sweet pink bottle also contains 13 other oils including carrot seed, baobab, raspberry seed, camellia, jojoba, rice bran, soybean, sunflower, and meadowfoam to name a few.

The result is an oil that not only hydrates and soothes the skin (two things that rose oil does really well), but it also helps make your skin look brighter and feel smoother. "I want my beauty products to work hard so I don't have to, which is why I hand-picked 15 of my favourite oils to create a unique blend that doesn't stop at just hydrating dry skin," Kattan said via press release of what she now calls her "magic oil."

Caudalie Resveratrol-Lift Firming Cashmere Cream

Caudalie's new Resveratrol Lift line comes thanks to a collaboration between the French skin-care brand and Harvard Medical School, who discovered that Caudalie's patented resveratrol/hyaluronic acid complex was extremely effective at boosting the skin's natural production of collagen. With this information up their sleeves, the scientists at Harvard decided to see what would happen if they added a vegan collagen booster into the mix. The result was the skin produced more collagen and more hyaluronic acid, which ultimately means a firmer, plumper, glowier looking complexion.

While the range includes a serum, night cream, eye gel, and lightweight lotion, with autumn officially here we suggest checking out the Caudalie Resveratrol-Lift Firming Cashmere Cream [18] (£42), which feels as soft and luxurious on your face as it sounds.

Summer Fridays Soft Reset AHA Exfoliating Solution

The Summer Fridays Soft Reset AHA Exfoliating Solution [19] (£49) contains two of the most important ingredients when it comes to exfoliating away dead skin cells and evening out texture: alpha hydroxy acids and niacinamide. And while the formula is certainly powerful, it's also supremely gentle, even for those with sensitive, acne-prone skin. Case in point: the POPUSGAR editor who tested the solution before it launched has sensitive skin and found that she can use this chemical exfoliator every day to keep breakouts at bay — as long as she follows it up with a good moisturiser, that is.

Pai Instant Kalmer Ceramide Serum

This month, Pai not only got a brand new look (new logo, new product names, new more sustainable packaging), it also introduced a new product: the Pai Instant Kalmer Ceramide Serum [20] (£49). Made with three different plant-based ceramide molecules and sea aster, and free of any potentially irritating essential oils or synthetic fragrances, this serum truly lives up to its name. Thicker than your average serum, the lightweight gel feels calming and soothing on your skin, leaving it softer, plumper, and even less red than it was before you put it on. After testing it out for a days, this serum has officially landed a permanent spot in our medicine cabinets.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Tri-Acid Peel

According to medical and cosmetic doctor, Dr Ewoma Ukeleghe, the new Elemis Pro-Collagen Tri-Acid Peel [21] (£70) is like "nothing I've ever tried before." The effective-yet-supremely-gentle formula includes an 8% "Tri-Acid Complex", which means it contains three different chemical exfoliants: lactobionic acid, asiatic acid, and mandelic acid, the latter of which is made up of a bigger molecules and therefore penetrates the skin more slowly, in turn causing less irritation. The combination of the three helps skin look smoother, brighter, and firmer.

The other reason this at-home peel is less irritating? "Glycerin features quite high on the ingredient list, which is unseen in most acid products," says Dr Ukeleghe. A humectant, glycerin attracts moisture into the top layer of skin, both hydrating it and protecting the skin's barrier, which ultimately means it will help keep the active ingredients in the peel from over-drying your skin.

Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Cleansing Jelly

Somewhere between face milk and a cleansing balm is the Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Cleansing Jelly [22] (£38). Made in the UK and EcoCert Certified, the natural oil-based cleanser starts as a jelly and turns into a milky liquid when it comes in contact with water, dissolving everything on your face from makeup to sunscreen, whilst still leaving your skin feeling soft and comfortable once you've rinsed it all away.

Simple Protect 'N' Glow Radiance Booster SPF 30

The Simple Protect 'N' Glow Radiance Booster SPF 30 [23] (£8) may look like a serum, but it's actually a lightweight moisturiser that offers some serious protection against UVA and UVB light. Apply it on its own or on top of your day cream for an extra layer of hydration and SPF protection. The formula is completely clear, which means it's invisible when on your skin, and like all of Simple's range, it's free of any artificial dyes or fragrances that could upset sensitive skin types.

By Terry Baume de Rose Toner

By Terry's Baume de Rose Lip Balm is one of those iconic (and yes, spenny) products loved by makeup artists and the beauty obsessed (including myself). Since it launched, the brand has created a variety of products inspired by the Baume de Rose, including a face cream, body cream, hand cream, lip crayon, and now, as of this month, a series of cleansers and toners aimed at pampering your skin whilst it cleanses and removes makeup. The three-piece collection — a bi-phase makeup remover (for getting rid of stubborn waterproof formulas), a fragrance-free micellar water (to whisk away makeup, oil, and grime off your face), and a hydrating toner. The products are meant to be used together, but if you had to choose one, we're most excited about the By Terry Baume de Rose Toner [24] (£36), which is made of rosewater, rosehip oil, and rose extracts to help soothe your skin and plump it up with moisture (and yes, those are real rose petals floating about). We love how it leaves our skin feeling — and how the bottle looks on our vanity.

Murad Clarifying Oil-Free Water Gel

If you're in the market for an oil-free face moisturiser, you may want to give the Murad Clarifying Oil-Free Water Gel [25] (£38) a try. The lightweight gel is non-comedogenic (meaning it won't clog your pores), and contains hyaluronic acid (for moisture). It also includes ingredients that help soothe and treat spots, such as salicylic acid, ginger root extract, and Korean red pine extract, the latter of which — according to the brand — actually stops bacteria from forming large groups in the microbiome on your skin that would then trigger breakouts.

Algenist Blue Algae Vitamin C Dark Spot Correcting Peel

From the beginning, Algenist has always been about two things: alguronic acid and using ingredients derived from algae. It took seven years, but the brand finally found a natural-yet-potent form of vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) in the form of spirulina, which is found naturally in blue algae and. Once Algenist pinpointed and tested the ingredient — discovering that it was more potent than any other naturally-occurring sources of vitamin C such as goji berry, kakadu plum, strawberry, and camu camu extracts — they got to work formulating its first vitamin C product, the result of which is the Algenist Blue Algae Vitamin C Dark Spot Correcting Peel [26] (£80), launching in the UK on 15 Sept. exclusively on Cult Beauty.

In addition to vitamin C, the peel contains alguronic acid (which softens fine lines and promotes hydration), the brand's proprietary Triple Acid Complex (made up of low levels of alpha, beta, and poly hydroxy acids, as well as azelaic acid and tranexamic acid), and lavender and blue tansy oils (for the colour and the smell). With all of those actives, you wouldn't be wrong to think this might be superharsh. But Algenist formulated the peel in a special way — putting glycerin at the top of the ingredient list instead of water. Not only does the humectant attract water into the skin to keep it from drying out (meaning less irritation), but it also helps deliver the ingredients in a really interesting way. The ingredients in the peel will not activate until they come into contact with water, meaning you must apply this to damp skin to get it to work, then leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing it off. All of these things — the glycerin base, the stable vitamin C that only activates when you mix it with water, and the low levels of multiple acids (versus high levels of just one) — result in a brightening and spot-fading formula that won't burn your face off.

Elemental Herbology Antioxidant Hydration Mist

We might be getting into chillier weather, but you'll still catch us spritzing a cooling face mist throughout the day (even if it's just from our at-home desks). Luckily for us, British beauty and spa brand, Elemental Herbology, officially launched its previously spa-exclusive Antioxidant Hydration Mist [27] (£30) into retail stores for the first time.

The mist features of skin-loving ingredients like Damask rose water, which hydrates and soothes sensitive skin, Damask rose oil, to help repair the skin and reduce redness, and finally glycerin to really lock moisture into the skin.

Face Halo X

We absolutely love a bright and bold eye makeup look, but do you know what we don't love? Taking it off. The original Face Halo pads work wonders for removing even the most stubborn makeup with just a splash of water and a swipe. However, when it comes to eye makeup, Face Halo discovered that 51 percent of British women preferred a Q-tip for removal, which isn't exactly sustainable.

That's why Face Halo X [28] (£24) was born. Simply slot your finger into these nifty little pads that are made from knitted microfibres (which essentially means they're super soft and won't cause irritation) and add water or micellar water to tackle any left-over, hard-to-reach makeup residue. Once you've used each of the pads, pop them into the cute drawstring wash bag, throw it into the wash, and reuse.

And now that face masks are a way of life, the Face Halo X can also be used as an on-the-go touch-up tool. Chloe Morello, beauty vlogger and co-owner of Face Halo, stashes one in her bag (turned inside out to keep it from getting dirty) so that she can wipe away any lipstick or foundation that's smudged whilst wearing her mask. Genius!

Nars Climax Extreme Mascara

Two years after Nars launched its Climax Mascara, the brand introduces the Climax Extreme Mascara [29] (£22), which is exactly what the product name suggests — a more extreme version of the original. That means more volume and more intense pigment. For the past month, we tested out both formulas to be able to compare the two [30] and found that the new version added more volume and bulked up lashes faster (in practically one coat), while the pigment was a deeper, inkier shade of black that's so dark, it creates the illusion that you're wearing eyeliner even when you're not.

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation

Chanel has been busy updating and expanding its Les Beiges range this year. In May, the brand reformulated its iconic Sheer Illuminating Fluid and Bronzing Makeup Base [31] (the latter is now the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream Soleil Tan Bronze Universel). On 4th September, it adds the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation [32] (£41) to the Les Beiges family and we couldn't be more excited.

Available in 35 shades, the new Healthy Glow Foundation promises to be lightweight (spoiler alert: it is!) and long wearing, thanks to the addition of silica powder into the formula, which forms an invisible film on the skin that locks the foundation in place. The texture is incredibly thin — add a drop to the back of your hand and it will drip, so watch out — but in this case, it's what gives this formula its second-skin finish quality (that would also be the ultra-fine pigments, light-reflecting powders, and blurring polymers in there). What is so genius about this formula, though, is that it's incredibly buildable. Apply a couple drops and it gives you very sheer coverage, almost like a tinted moisturiser or skin tint [33]. But add another layer or two and you can make it a true medium coverage formula — although, without masking your skin's natural luminosity and texture underneath.

Illamasqua Beyond Foundation

The new Illamasqua Beyond Foundation [34] (£33) is the brand's first new foundation formula in four years, and offers up a lighter, more radiant alternative to the brand's full-coverage Skin Base. As part of the "Beyond" range — which includes the brand's best-selling highlighters — the silky Beyond Foundation is both illuminating and moisturising, promising to give skin a glass-like finish. Available in 25 shades, the colours are broken into light, medium, and dark categories, with rosy, golden, and neutral options available for each.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder in Honey

Laura Mercier's Translucent Loose Setting Powder was one of the first products the French makeup artist launched back in 1996, and it continues to be a best-seller to this day. This month, the brand introduces an addition to the TLSP family that was much needed: the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder in Honey [35] (£30), a peachy-yellow version formulated specifically for people with medium complexions. Read our review of the new shade, here [36].

Trinny London BFF De-Stress Tinted Serum

It's a serum! It's a foundation! It's ... both? Trinny London's newest product is the Trinny London BFF De-Stress Tinted Serum [37] (£39), and in addition to being a light coverage base product (it does a bang up job of covering redness), it's also a serum full of active ingredients. It contains a load of antioxidants, as well as a proprietary ingredient complex that features a high percentage of Neurophroline, a synthetic active ingredient that helps block the production of cortisol, the hormone your adrenal glands release when you're stressed that has damaging effects on your body, including making your skin look tired, dull, and lacklustre. We just wish the brand launched with more than just 12 shades, as there aren't as many options for people with dark, deep skin tones.

Pat McGrath Labs x Supreme MatteTrance Lipstick

It's quite possible that the Pat McGrath Labs x Supreme MatteTrance Lipstick [38] is not just the most exciting beauty launch of the month, but potentially of all of 2020. It's also quite possible that it will also be sold out by the time you read this. The epic partnership was announced last month, and the brands surprised us all with a 24-hour notice that it would be launching on 10 Sept. We got a chance to test out the bold matte red hue [39] ahead of the launch, and trust us when we say that this much-hyped makeup item will be worth every damn pound.

MAC Rosalía Viva Glam Lipstick

Each year, MAC announces a new Viva Glam Lipstick and ambassador. For 2020, the brand chose Barcelona-born singer-songwriter Rosalía to join the Viva Glam family, and celebrate 26 years of the philanthropic initiative, which sees 100 percent of the lipstick sales go towards fighting for equal rights for women, girls, and the LGBTQ+ community, as well as supporting those living with HIV/AIDs. "We are beyond proud to join forces with the incomparable Rosalía, who will elevate the MAC. Viva Glam campaign to new levels this year. Rosalía is deeply committed to improving the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS around the globe, especially those most vulnerable, including women, girls and the LGBTQIA+ community," the brand said in a statement.

As for Rosalía's Viva Glam lipstick? The MAC VG 26 Lipstick [40] (£17.50) is a stunning matte red hue with orange undertones that launches here in the UK on 24th September. "I have always been very excited about red, it's one of my favourite colours," Rosalía told POPSUGAR [41]. "It represents strength and Flamenco culture. Flamenco has always been connected to red and I have always loved Ruby Woo, it's such a big reference for me all these years. I was very excited to create something special like Viva Glam 26. It's a special colour red."

Bobbi Brown Real Nudes Lipstick Collection

For autumn, Bobbi Brown has launched the Real Nudes Collection that includes three eye shadow palettes and 10 new neutral shades of the Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Colour [42] (£24.50). From Blush, a cool, blue-toned pale pink to Dark Chocolate, a cool-toned deep brown, each of the new shades was tested on a variety of women to ensure they matched and amplified the natural tones found in a variety of lip tones.

Chantecaille Lip Veil - Supporting Space For Giants

Continuing its tradition of helping endangered animals with its seasonal makeup collections, Chantecaille dedicated its autumn 2020 makeup range to protecting African elephants and their landscapes. Teaming up with its longtime partner and international conservation organisation, Space for Giants [43], the collection includes a shimmering eye shadow trio and its tinted lip balm, the Chantecaille Lip Veil - Supporting Space For Giants [44] (£40 each), which comes in three neutral shades: Acacia (a tawny rose), Plumeria (a pale cool plum), and Tamarind (a warm cinnamon brown, shown here).

Urban Decay Stoned Vibes Eyeshadow Palette

The 12 powder shadows in the new Urban Decay Stoned Vibes Eyeshadow Palette [45] (£46) are infused with tourmaline, which purportedly blocks bad vibes (something we could all use a little bit of help doing this year). While the palette contains four matte hues, the majority of the shadows are dazzling glitter-flecked powders that are inspired by real gemstones. You can apply them with the inclosed dual-end brush, or even go straight in with your fingers as the shimmery shadows are incredibly pigmented and creamy.

MAC Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eyeshadow

The MAC Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eyeshadow [46] (£17.50) gives you the same soft, hazy, diffused wash of colour as the brand's Powder Kiss Lipstick, just across your lids instead of your lips. Available in 17 shades (shown here in Devoted to Chili), they're a foolproof way to wear colour on your lids, whether you go for a subtle neutral or one of the bright, fluorescent shades. Ultra-creamy with soft, blurred pigments, all you really have to do is swipe and go — shadow brush entirely optional.

Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Highlighter in Peau de Rosé

For autumn, makeup artist Gucci Westman adds a new shade to her range of luxurious powder highlighters. The Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Highlighter in Peau de Rosé [47] (£69) is a shimmering, medium rose-pink that can be used on cheekbones, as a highlight, or dusted over the apples of your cheeks like a blush (and actually, it looks beautiful dusted over your lids, too).

Christian Louboutin Matte Fluid Lip Colour

Christian Louboutin Matte Fluid Lip Colour [48] (£68) — shown here in the brand's signature shade Rouge Louboutin — is the latest lipstick addition to the iconic shoe designer's makeup range. And while it was probably in development long before the pandemic, the non-transferring formula — which comes in five matte shades and five metal shades — is pretty much made to stay put under a face mask.

T3 Lucea ID Smart Straightening & Styling Iron

The T3 Lucea ID Smart Straightening & Styling Iron [49] (£189) is a two-in-one straightening and curling iron that uses advanced technology to adjust to your hair's unique needs. It contains nine heat settings that is calculated for you based on your individual hair type — all you have to do is punch in your hair texture, type, length, and colour treatment using its smart-sensor interface.

Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave-In Treatment

Aveda's new Botanical Repair line — a range of products aimed at repairing damaged, stressed-out hair — took six years to develop. "We were so committed to delivering the strongest-possible benefit using ingredients from nature," Camille Sasik, Aveda's director of hair care research and development explains via press release. "The result is a 93-percent naturally derived collection with powerful plant technologies such as sacha inchi, avocado, and green tea." Additionally, the brand created a proprietary plant-based, bond-building complex that helps strengthen your hair by multiplying the internal bonds in the cortex (e.g., the inner core) of each strand. It also treats the surface of your strands by smoothing the outer cuticle and detangling.

The must-try product in the range is the Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave-In Treatment [50] (£28), which features a concentrated amount of the bond-multiplying ingredients to really help strengthen your hair, repair some of the existing damage, and protect strands from external stressors like heat products and the sun (thereby preventing future damage). Use it once a week and you might even notice you'll be able to go longer between salon appointments.

Ouai x Byredo Super Dry Shampoo Mojave Ghost

While the rest of us were baking banana bread or hosting Zoom pub quizzes, hairstylist Jen Atkin was working hard on her dream collaboration: a hair product scented with one of Byredo's chicer-than-chic perfumes. After DM'ing Byredo founder Ben Gorham on Instagram, Atkin and the Ouai team managed to whip up the Ouai x Byredo Super Dry Shampoo Mojave Ghost [51] (£20), which may just be one of the best-smelling hair products well, ever. "It is definitely one of the best moments that we've had so far as a brand," Atkin told POPSUGAR of the launch [52].

Christophe Robin Regenerating Serum With Prickly Pear Oil

French hair colourist Christophe Robin's Regenerating Mask was one of the first products he ever launched, and remains a best-seller to this day, boasting five star ratings on Look Fantastic and John Lewis (as well as on his own website). This month, the brand introduces the Christophe Robin Regenerating Serum [53] (£44), which contains the same prickly pear oil as the mask, an ingredient that's rich in amino acids to help repair damaged strands and restore shine and elasticity. The multipurpose serum can be used before heat styling (it protects your hair from temperatures up to 230 degrees) to smooth frizz and keep your hair soft, used as a leave-in treatment before air-drying your hair, or applied when your hair is dry along the hairline or over the ends to smooth down fuzzies and make split ends look less noticeable.

Davines A Single Shampoo

The Davines A Single Shampoo [54] (£19) is a delicate formula that the brand promises is gentle-yet-effective enough to be used on all hair types. It also promises that this is a completely carbon neutral product with a formula that contains 95-percent natural-origin ingredients (based on the new restrictive definitions of how a product should considered natural that the brand developed and is holding itself to).

More on the formula: it contains 100-percent natural added preservatives, features a 100-percent natural fragrance made from essential oils, and every single ingredient is traceable to the country of origin. As for the packaging? The fully recyclable plastic bottle is made from renewable vegetable sources (sugar cane from South Brazil to be exact), and was designed so that not only could you empty out every last drop, but it would also take up less space during the shipping process to allow for more bottles to be transported at a time. Finally, the brand promises that the CO2 emissions "generated through the life cycle of A Single Shampoo are 100 percent compensated through proprietary reforestation projects supported entirely by Davines," the brand states via press release.

Holy Curls Curl Mask

Housed in a recycled glass jar, the new Holy Curls Curl Mask [55] (£28) promises to hydrate spirals, kinks, and coil without weighing them down or making them look greasy. The secret is the list of ingredients that treat the your hair from the inside, out. Rich in fatty acids, both baobab oil and shea butter leave hair feeling soft and moisturised. Glycerin adds slip, while a fancy ingredient called fiberhance slips inside the hair shaft, helping to create new hydrogen and ionic bonds, which in turn strengthen and repair damaged strands, resulting in shinier, springer curls.

Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Sulphate Free Shampoo & Conditioner With Potent Aloe + Hemp

Free of sulphates but full of good-for-your-hair aloe vera and hemp extract, the Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Sulphate Free Shampoo With Potent Aloe + Hemp [56] (£6)and Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Sulphate Free Conditioner With Potent Aloe + Hemp [57] (£6) help leave your strands and scalp feeling happy after washing and conditioning your hair. In addition to being super hydrating, aloe vera (which for these products are hand picked to ensure sustainable farming practises) also helps reinforce weak strands and protect them from breaking.

John Frieda x WW84 Secret Agent Touch-Up Crème

The new Wonder Woman film may not be out until December [58], but John Frieda is already gearing up with a limited-edition version of its Secret Agent Touch-Up Crème — the John Frieda x WW84 Secret Agent Touch-Up Crème [59] (£6) —

Evo Liquid Rollers Curl Balm

The Evo Liquid Rollers Curl Balm [60] (£20) only launched this month but it's already racked up loads of five-star ratings on Look Fantastic and Amazon. Part of the brands new curl range (which also includes a deep clean rinse, co-wash, hydrating treatment spray, and curl defining cream), Liquid Rollers is meant to be applied throughout damp spirals before either air-drying or blow drying it with a diffuser attachment. You can also add a bit to dry ends if your curls needs a little moisture in between washes. Ideal for fine and medium texture hair, and type 2 and 3 textures [61] (although, it may not be moisturising enough for people with 3C curls).

Living Proof No Frizz Vanishing Oil

Living Proof's No Frizz Nourishing Oil has returned with improved packaging and a new name. The Living Proof No Frizz Vanishing Oil [62] (£31) features the same lightweight, fast-absorbing, silicone-free formula as the Nourishing Oil, but with an easy-to-use dropper versus a pump. Use it on damp or dry hair to smooth frizz and add shine.

Klorane Aquatic Mint Detox Dry Shampoo

Klorane's dry shampoo is one of the best-selling formulas in the world (according to the company, one sells every 16 seconds). This month, the French brand created a new version of its famed root refresher, the Klorane Aquatic Mint Detox Dry Shampoo [63] (£9). Infused with aquatic mint (which the brand grows organically), this version helps protect your scalp and hair from pollution, be it dust, hard water, cooking fumes, tobacco smoke, you name it (the plant has been used in French mining towns to decontaminate polluted waters). In addition to being completely invisible (unlike the original), the mint provides a cooling effect on your scalp, while the natural rice and corn starches absorb up excess oil lingering around your roots.

Dr. Hauschka Silicone-Free Shampoo and Conditioner

Joining the brand's classic hair care products, the Hair Tonic and the Hair Oil (with formulations that are so beloved by fans, they've remained untouched since 1967), are the Dr. Hauschka Silicone-Free Shampoo [64] (£18.50) and the Dr. Hauschka Silicone-Free Conditioner [65] (£19.50). Both feature neem extract, an ingredient long valuee in India for its medicinal purposes, and protein-rich chickpea extract, that together help to gently cleanse and hydrate not only your strands, but also your scalp. Free of silicones (hence the name), the shampoo also contains rosemary extract and lemon, bergamot, and spearmint essential oils, while the conditioner includes two hair-care ingredient heroes: coconut oil and apple cider vinegar.

Malin + Goetz Detox Scalp Mask

The past several months have seen a surge in new acid treatments for the face. Malin + Goetz, however, has taken those same skin-sloughing ingredients like salicylic, lactic, and glycolic acids and put them in the Malin + Goetz Detox Scalp Mask [66] (£28). Unlike the scalp scrubs that contain gritty bits that you apply in the shower and can take some effort to work into your roots, this treatment is a gel that you massage onto a dry scalp and leave on for five minutes. While sitting on your scalp, the gel turns into a foam as it gets to work exfoliating away dead skin cells, breaking up grime and product build-up, absorbing excess oil, moisturising (thanks to safflower, olive, and coconut oils), and soothing (thanks to spearmint leaf and peppermint oils). Why would you want all of that? A healthier, happier scalp means fuller, bouncier-looking hair in the long run.

Head & Shoulders Supreme Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner

We all know that Head & Shoulders shampoo and conditioner are great for your scalp, especially if your skin is especially dry, sensitive, or irritated. But the brand's new Supreme Collection — which include four new shampoo/conditioner formulas — ensures not only is your scalp taken care of, but your hair is left feeling incredibly soft and luxurious.

We recommend checking out the Head & Shoulders Supreme Moisture Shampoo [67] (£5) and Head & Shoulders Supreme Moisture Conditioner [68] (£5) both of which contain argan and coconut oils to provide your strands with some serious moisture.

Cocofloss

I never thought one could get excited by dental floss until I came across Cocofloss [69] (£7) as a beauty editor in New York. Non toxic, available in flavours like coconut, strawberry, and mint, and infused with coconut and fruit oils, not only does Cococfloss look cute, but the dentist (Dr Chrystle Cu) who created it also claims that it's better at getting rid of bacteria, too.

The secret is in the texture. A lot of traditional floss is smooth and flat. Cocofloss, on the other hand, is made from 500 interwoven filaments, which means it has more of a soft, cloth-like texture which according to Chu is really good at snatching up plaque and debris from in between your teeth. And I would have to agree. After two years of using it, I will honestly never use another floss brand again, which makes the fact that it's now available in the UK via Goop is very good news.

Kyalli Ready Set Glow Exfoliating Body Polish

Kyalli is a new British-based skin-care brand that's dedicated to creating body-care products with the same care and high-quality ingredients as the creams and lotions you put on your face. The luxurious (and 100-percent vegan) line launched with three products: a body oil, a face oil, and a body scrub, with a lotion and body soufflé coming soon.

We can't wait to slather the Kyalli Ready Set Glow Exfoliating Body Polish [70] (£32) all over our limbs the next time we hop in the shower. The geranium-scented pink sugar scrub is oil-based, which means even though it's sloughing off dry skin from places like your elbows, knees, and feet, your skin will feel incredibly soft and silky after you rinse it off. It makes sense once you see the long list of oils in this formula. It contains sweet almond, apricot, pomegranate seed, marula, geranium, and mandarin peel oils, along with peony root extract (which is full of antioxidants) and yakuwa plant extract, another plant full of free radical-fighting antioxidants that's native to West Africa.

Comfort Zone Sacred Nature Body Butter

Comfort Zone's new Sacred Nature collection is both good for your skin and good for the planet. The products in the range contain mirtus leaves, pomegranate peels, and elderberries, which are harvested from organic farmers in the brand's home country of Italy. The plants are loaded with antioxidants, which means products like the Comfort Zone Sacred Nature Body Butter [71] (£50), which we rate, not only keeps limbs soft, but also protects your skin from free radical damage. All of the creams, balms, and serums come in glass bottles with steel/plastic or tinplate lids, and the boxes are made of 100% recycled papers.

Jo By Jo Loves Bath & Body Collection

Following the incredible success of the Jo By Jo Loves Fragrance collection in 2018, we are beyond thrilled that a Jo By Jo Loves Bath & Body Collection (launching 3 Sept.) is finally here. The collection includes Jo by Jo Loves Bath & Shower Gel (£35), Jo by Jo Loves Body Lotion 275ml (£40), and Jo by Jo Loves Bath & Shower Gel and Lotion Set (£75) and marries the two things that Jo Malone celebrates in life: her signature bold, red colour and one of her most treasured ingredients: grapefruit. "Over the years I have created fragrances for all kinds of reasons, but this one I created for myself," Jo explained.

"Grapefruit has always been my calling card and a source of inspiration – from the first bottle of cologne I smelt in Paris over 30 years ago, to the treasured moments of building my first business and all the adventures it brought", she said. "As well as the wonderful memories of the past, the scent of grapefruit in Jo by Jo Loves embodies and celebrates the excitement and expectation of what adventures life will bring in the future.

& Other Stories Humlegården Shower Oil

Available in three different fragrances, the & Other Stories' new body care collection for autumn is vegan, natural, cruelty-free, and packaged in bottles made with recycled PCR plastic. Inspired by various cities and villages around Sweden, the three scents include Humlegården (a musky floral that smells almost like fresh cotton), Lärkstaden (a mouthwatering gourmand with notes of pistachio, coconut and vanilla), and Fjäderholmarna (sweet yet minty thanks to pomelo, spearmint, and peach nectar).

The range is comprised of the brand's Body Lotion, Body Scrub, Hand Cream, Shower Oil, Body Oil, Hand Wash, Mini Hand Cream, and Eau de Toilette. We rate the & Other Stories Humlegården Shower Oil [72] (£13), which leaves skin incredibly soft and hydrated, even as it washes away all the dirt and grime from the day. It also leaves your bathroom smelling of freshly washed linen.

Molton Brown Hand Wash Refill Collection

Molton Brand's luxurious range of hand soaps is far from new — you've probably given a bottle or received a bottle as a gift at some point in your life. What is new, however, is the fact that this month, the brand is rolling out a refill programme, with the launch of a reusable glass bottle and Hand Wash Refill collection. The Molton Brown Fine Liquid Hand Wash Glass Bottle [73] (£20) can hold 200ml of hand soap and looks pretty much exactly like the original plastic bottles (which the brand aims to be made from 50% recycled PET by the end of 2020). Buy one of the glass bottles and when you run out, you can purchase a 600ml refill pouch (£32 each) in one of Molton Brown's classic scents: Orange & Bergamot, Delicious Rhubarb & Rose, or Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel.

Moo Body Miracle Body Wash

Moo Hair, the Scottish born and made organic-and-sustainable beauty brand has expanded into body care this month with the addition of a lotion and the Moo Body Miracle Body Wash [74] (£22), which combines marula oil and Icelandic moss extracts (ingredients found in the hair range as well that are high in vitamins C and E) to leave skin clean but super soft.

Isle Of Paradise Self-Tanning Butter

Always at the forefront of tanning innovation, Isle of Paradise has come up with yet another brilliant self-tan formulation for us all to fall in love with. Introducing the Isle Of Paradise Self-Tanning Butter [75] (£20).

Formulated with coconut and avocado oil, the newbie is rich and hydrating, meaning it deeply moisturises whilst it gets to work on giving you a golden glow. It's thicker than a regular gradual tan product, hence the butter name, and is also darker than a traditional gradual formula; but it's still perfect for beginners, or low-maintenance tanners.

And if you want an even deeper tan, co-founder and all round fabulous human, Jules Von Hep recommends mixing in some Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops [76] for an extra bronzed result. Oh, and of course as with all IoP products, the Butter is vegan and cruelty-free.

Kayali Déjà Vu White Flower 57 Hair Mist

For September, Kayali founder Mona Kattan introduces Kayali Déjà Vu White Flower 57 Hair Mist [77] (£34), a hair mist version of her gorgeous perfume of the same name that launches on 25th Sept. (but you can add your name to the waitlist now). The spray features the same warm, white floral scent, but with the addition of camellia oil, aloe vera, and castor oil to leave hair looking shiny and smelling absolutely divine.

Marc Jacobs Perfect Eau de Parfum

Marc Jacobs Perfect Eau de Parfum [78] (£69) is all about loving and embracing who you are, inspired by the designer's personal mantra of "I am perfect as I am." How does that translate into a perfume, though? Everything about the fragrance is optimistic and playful, with a hint of the unexpected — all of which you can tell just through the list of unique notes. Rhubarb and daffodil sit at the top of the scent and give the fragrance it's fresh, juicy quality you smell right as you spray it. As it dries down, however, the almond milk in the heart of the fragrance, and the base of cedarwood and cashmeran give the eau an overall warm, creamy quality that's both comforting and seductive at the same time.

Christian Dior J'Adore Eau de Parfum Infinissime

September sees a new take on the iconic Dior J'Adore fragrance: the Christian Dior J'Adore Eau de Parfum Infinissime [79] (£116), developed by the brand's in-house perfumer, François Demachy. For this latest iteration of the classic eau, Demachy added tuberose from Grasse. "J'adore Eau De Parfum Infinissime has a sensual charm thanks to this little white flower that is as intense as it is moving ... it instantly symbolises a powerful and confident femininity," Demachy said in a statement from the brand. If you like the original J'Adore, this is a softer, creamier, more sensual version of the statement-making scent.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian L'Homme À la Rose Eau de Parfum

For Maison Francis Kurkdjian L'Homme À la Rose Eau de Parfum [80] (£180), perfumer Francis Kurkdjian told POPSUGAR that he "wanted something with light and infused with brightness. I wanted someone to smell it and say it's rose, it's fresh, it's masculine, in any order. That was my brief, it was that simple."

As a perfumer who likes to shake up old fragrance rules and conventions, Kurkdjian set out to create a rose-based scent for men (although, he admits that anyone can wear it as his entire brand is gender fluid). To do so, he looked at his best-selling scent, À la Rose, as well as how other perfumers have treated rose perfumes in the past. In the end, he moved away from adding anything spicy or sultry like patchouli (what rose is historically blended with), instead going for a grapefruit accord and notes of sage and cistus, giving floral fragrance not only a freshness, but also a unique metallic quality to make things really interesting.

Ariana Grande R.E.M. Eau de Parfum

Ariana Grande [81]'s latest fragrance (can you believe she already has eight???) is named after one of her favourite songs off of her Sweetener album, with a galactic bottle right out of '60s sci-fi space film. As for how it smells, Ariana Grande R.E.M. Eau de Parfum [82] (£27) is sweet and sparkly gourmand with notes of pear, gig and warm Salted Caramel at the top, and lavender essence, cashmere, tonka, and sandalwood,

David Beckham Bold Instinct Eau de Toilette

David Beckham [83]'s newest fragrance, David Beckham Bold Instinct Eau de Toilette [84] (£20), comes 15 years after he launched his first scent (where has the time gone?!), and offers a more elegant and sophisticated fragrance blend that sees whisky-like notes (thanks to a peaty accord), mingled with pineapple, patchouli, and a warm, spicy heart of cardamom, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

Sister & Co Holly Candle

An ideal candle to light up this autumn, the Sister & Co Holly Candle [85] (£25) is one part spicy, one part sweet with a blend of cardamom, lemon, black pepper, lavender, cedarwood, and ginger essential oil. Made with a base of 100 percent natural coconut and rapeseed wax and a natural cotton wick, the candle is also free of petroleum, parabens, and phthalates. Even better? £1 from every candle sold will be donated to Solace Women's Aid [86], a domestic violence charity here in the UK.

Starface Lift Off Pore Strips

Starface — the beauty-editor founded brand from California that made showing off your acne patches cool — is tapping into millennial nostalgia and launching printed pore strips. A box of the Starface Lift Off Pore Strips [87] (£7) comes with eight yellow strips covered in smiley faces that were made for showing off your skin-care routine on social media. They're also sure to make you smile, both while they're on and after when you get the satisfaction of seeing all the gunk they pulled out from your pores.
