Dermalogica Smart Response Serum (£130) promises to address micro-changes in the skin — which could be the result of external damage or self-defence (from over-exposure to UV rays, for example) — before those changes become visible to the naked eye in the form of a wrinkle, dark spot, dry patch, or redness. The serum contains four unique ingredients that the brand says help to soothe (Japanese cornelia cherry), firm (mannose-6 phosphate), brighten (hydrolysed wheat flour), and hydrate (oligosaccharides), in addition to classic skin-care actives like glycerin and niacinamide.

The newest addition to Chanel's Hydra Beauty range is a gentle-yet-powerful chemical exfoliator. The Chanel Hydra Beauty Camellia Glow Concentrate (£67) helps both hydrate and brighten the skin with a blend of three alpha hydroxy acids — citric, tartaric, and lactic acids (for a refresher on what all of those are, click here) — as well as two active ingredients extracted from camellia flowers (the signature flower of Chanel's fashion house and the key ingredient in the Hydra Beauty line). There's camellia yeast extract, from the camellia japonica, and camellia alba, from the white camellia, both of which help keep the skin hydrated and happy.

The Codex Antu Brightening Serum (£85) is the third product in the brand's Antu range, all of which feature a patent-pending ingredient complex created with bio-actives from three plants found in the Patagonian rainforest that have been combined with hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid to protect and support the microbiome as well as strengthen the skin barrier. The serum, in particular, doesn't just reinforce the skin barrier, it also promises to leave skin visibly brighter, smoother, and plumper after continued use.

If you've put the full-coverage foundation to one side and started to use tinted moisturisers more over the past 12 months, you're going to love the new Verso Daily Glow (£42). The latest launch from the Stockholm-born brand is a skin-care/makeup hybrid packed full of incredible skin-care ingredients like retinol, niacinamide, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid, which work to brighten your skin throughout the day. The light golden colour of the cream gives an instant glowing, pearlescent effect to your skin — the perfect summer base.

The issue around whether some sunscreen formulas are "reef safe" is a nuanced and oftentimes tricky discussion, but it's something that consumers have become increasingly aware of, and brands are catering to that demand. Chantecaille Seascreen 30 Mineral Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 (£62) is the brand's first "reef-safe" sunscreen using only mineral UV filters that protect against UVA and UVB rays. To keep skin feeling cool and comfortable, the formula also contains soothing ingredients like aloe vera, bisabolol, and ashwagandha root extract. True to Chantecaille's efforts around wildlife conservation and protection, the Seascreen 30 will also permanently support WildAid's Marine Program.

Loopeco is a new brand to launch in the UK with a focus on sustainability and a mission to create a closed-loop economy where everything is shared, repaired, reused, or recycled. The minimalist products are the first in the market to be housed in box packaging that is embedded with seeds and using vegetable ink, making them plantable and compostable. Simply cover the box with 3mm of soil, place in a sunny spot, and water to watch the flowers grow. As for the products, we particularly love the Loopeco Nutrient Rich Cream Cleanser (£29), which is a clay formula that gently removes all makeup and grime from the day. The blend of pink clay paired with hyaluronic acid and green tea helps to hydrate the skin whilst removing impurities. The uplifting blend of ylang-ylang, jasmine, and vanilla helps make it a total delight to use, too.

Luxury skin-care range 111 Skin is founded by British and American board-certified cosmetic surgeon Dr Yannis Alexandrides, who has a practice on Harley Street in London. The brand's newest product, the 111 Skin Celestial Black Diamond Neck and Décolletage Serum (£250), is inspired by a cosmetic procedure Dr Alexandrides carries out in his practise called the Y-lift Surgery, which lifts the face, jawline, and neck of the patient. Whilst a topical product could never deliver the same results as surgery, this serum contains a potent peptide complex that promises to stimulate collagen production, which in turn has a lifting, firming, and toning effect on the neck and chest area with repeated use. Additionally, it contains moisturising ingredients and lactic acid that will help plump the skin and fade any discolouration.

The Révive Clarté Vitamin C Brightening Serum (£225, originally £250) is basically two serums in one sleek tube. Whilst you can't see it from the outside, inside the tube are two chambers, one that contains the L-ascorbic acid, ensuring it stays fresh and doesn't degrade over time, and the other contains a moisturising formula that contains hyaluronic acid, thermal water, biomimetic proteins, and antioxidants. With repeated use it can help fade dark spots, smooth fine lines, and overall make skin result is brighter, plumper, or more radiant.

In addition to HA (this one contains three different types), the serum also contains a number of ingredients high in skin-protecting antioxidants, including gingko biloba leaf extract, ginseng, and vitamin E.

The Wildsmith Skin Stillness Body Oil (£38) is basically the beauty equivalent of a cup of camomile tea. The silky, non-greasy body oil features a nourishing base of English chia seed and oat kernel oils, which not only both contain omegas 3 and 6 (which are good for preventing dryness), but they also help protect and soothe the skin (with additional help from raspberry seed, evening primrose, and rosehip oils). When it comes to the sensorial aspect, however, the Stillness Body Oil contains rose geranium, lavender, and camomile, which together have an especially comforting and calming effect.

The Organic Pharmacy Advanced Retinol-like Body Oil (£55) contains bakuchiol, a plant extract that offers the same skin benefits as retinol, but without the irritation. The natural ingredient has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial properties, and functions similar to retinol in that it increases cell turnover, which in turn boosts collagen production and results in skin looking firmer and smoother. That means if you use this body oil regularly, it will help increase skin elasticity, brighten tone, and soften the appearance of wrinkles from the neck down.

We will be slathering ourselves in Summer Fridays Summer Silk Nourishing Body Lotion (£35) all summer long. Not only does the combination of ceramides and plant-derived butters and oils leave your skin silky smooth (and not at all greasy, we were delighted to discover), but the smell is also incredible — a delicious blend of coconut, vanilla blossom, and almond. We may not be able to travel much again this summer, but at least we can dream of the beach every time we break out this stellar hydrator.

It's no secret that natural deodorants are a difficult thing to master, but leave it to Caudalie to do just that with the new Caudalie Vinofresh Deodorant (£13). Promising to have 24-hour protection, the deodorant is formulated with organic eucalyptus and prebiotic grape water to control odour whilst hydrating and being gentle enough for sensitive skin.
