Rare Beauty Is Finally Available in The UK, and We've Ranked the 5 Best Products

When I headed to Paris at the end of November last year, I was extremely excited to kick back and relax. And whilst I made the most of my relaxing time being in my favourite city, I was also a woman on a mission — that mission being to visit as many Sephoras as I possibly could during my three and a half days to stock up on Rare Beauty. For the past two months, I've been lathering my face in everything, from Rare Beauty's raved-about Soft Pinch Liquid Blush to universally flattering Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Creams. So, of course, I jumped for joy when it was announced that Rare Beauty would finally be launching in the UK and Ireland.

Selena Gomez launched Rare Beauty back in 2020 with a clear mission to break down unrealistic standards of perfection and promote self-acceptance. We've been holding tight ever since to get our hands on the products with ease over here in the UK.

As with most launches, it can be difficult to figure out what products you want to try out first while also trying to factor in whether it'll be an instant sell-out or not. If you're looking to try the brand, to help you on your search, I've ranked five of the best Rare Beauty products, giving an insight into my honest thoughts and whether or not I think they live up to the product claims. Keep reading to find out all the hot beauty tea on Rare Beauty.

Rare Beauty launches in the UK on 1 Feb. online exclusively at Space NK and in stores from 22 Feb.

Rare Beauty True To Myself Discovery Eyeshadow Palette

The Rare Beauty True To Myself Discovery Eyeshadow Palette (£28) is the second eyeshadow palette from Rare Beauty's discovery collection. This one in particular gives praise to Gomez's journey to self-discovery and is said to celebrate the ever-changing colours we reflect every day. The palette consists of seven shades, from buttery mattes to standout metallics and a unique 3D glitter topcoat, which is said to add shimmering dimensions to any eye look. I found this palette to be not only perfect for everyday looks, but also great for fancier night-time creations, too. I've been reaching for the shade "Passionate," which is a duo-chrome magenta gold, and I've been stunned at the number of compliments I've received when wearing it.

The only thing I wasn't too fond of was shade "Accepting," the 3D glitter topcoat. The glitter was a lot thicker than I expected, and I found it didn't sit as well over my lid. However, I've since been using it for a pop of colour in my inner corners, which I've found works so much better!

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Grace

Liquid blush is continuing to have its moment, and I am totally here for it. The Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush (£19) from Rare Beauty has been so raved about, from numerous TikTok reviews to Reddit threads praising the formula for being dewy and real competition for other well-loved liquid blushes. As someone with a dry-to-normal skin type, I tend to steer away from matte products (although this blush is a liquid, it settles to a matte finish), particularly foundation and blush as my skin really thrives off dewy and hydrating finishes. But to my surprise, this liquid blush is the complete opposite of what I've tried in the past. The shade I've been using and loving is "Grace," a bright rose mauve with a matte finish that sits perfectly on top of the skin without leaving my skin feeling dry. Like the lip creams, the blush is super lightweight and adds a really nice flush of colour to my cheeks.

Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner

The one and only eyeliner from Rare Beauty is the Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner (£17), a vegan and cruelty-free formula. The liner is unique with its flexible brush tip and over 1,000 bristles, which Rare Beauty says makes for easier precision. I was pleasantly surprised at just how much of a game changer this eyeliner has been to my makeup routine. First, I'm obsessed with the fact that it's a felt-tip liner as I find it really does make for easier precision and helps me achieve my best winged liner yet. Second, it applies really well on top of eyeshadow, which is a must for me as most of my makeup looks consist of shimmery eye looks.

Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream in Inspire

As someone who has never grown out of loving matte lip creams, it comes as no surprise that I was most excited to try the Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Creams (£19). They promise to be lightweight and hydrating with a velvety matte finish. I'm not sure if I can put into words just how incredible it not only feels but also looks on the lips. I even think I'd go as far as saying that it's my favourite product from Rare Beauty so far. There are 12 shades to choose from, of which I've tried four, with the shade "Inspire" being the one I reach for most. It's one of the most universally flattering reds that I've seen in a very long time.

One thing I did notice (and why it didn't get a full five stars) is that because the formula is so lightweight, it can take quite a few swipes to get your desired colour pay-off. As a "go hard or go home" type of person when it comes to a standout lip, I wish it was a little more pigmented on the first swipe, but it doesn't stop me from loving it. With the brand now available in the UK, I genuinely think I'm going to have to purchase all of the other eight shades I've yet to try.

Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer in Transcend

The Positive Light Liquid Luminizer in "Transcend" (£19) is said to create a buildable glow while keeping the skin hydrated. I've been really intrigued to try this as over the past year, I've found myself not reaching for highlighters as much in my routine since the majority of blushers I use offer enough of a dewy finish. Upon first application, I was reminded of just how much of a glow liquid highlighters give to my cheeks and high points of my face. It took me a good while to blend the liquid down as it seriously packs a punch of pigment. However, a few swirls of my brush managed to settle it down.

The blush comes in a 7.5 ml bottle, which is just over half of what you get from the 15 ml liquid highlighter bottle, but for good reason because a little really does go a long way. Something I saw over on the Rare Beauty Instagram is that the brand recommends mixing your liquid highlighter and liquid blush together to make the perfect cheek combo — which I absolutely can't wait to experiment with.
