I think we can all agree that sunscreen is the most important part of your skin-care routine. Whether you want to prevent premature ageing, treat stubborn hyperpigmentation, and even prevent skin cancer, you have to protect your skin. But, finding the perfect sunscreen is damn near impossible. Some leave a white cast, some break you out, some have a weird texture, some burn your eyes like the depths of hell, some don't have the protection you want, some hurt the environment, and some don't play well with your other products. Purito uses ingredients that are EWG Green Level Grades 1 and 2, so it is perfect for sensitive or reactive skin like mine. Purito Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ PA++++ ($16) contains Centella Asiatica Extract, which is an antioxidant that helps hydrate and calm reactive or compromised skin. It is formulated without any known irritating ingredients like essential oils and some UV filters such as oxybenzone and avobenzone. Although it is a chemical-based sunscreen, it also does not sting your eyes, and it is coral reef safe.

When applying the sunscreen, I use the two-finger rule coined by New York Esthetician Tiara Willis. Purito Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ PA++++ ($16) does not leave a white cast, which is perfect for people of colour (like me). It truly feels like a moisturiser on my skin that is comparable to The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA moisturiser. If you have skin that leans oily, I would recommend not even using a moisturiser and just use this sunscreen. Since it has such a smooth application and is filled with hydrating and moisturising ingredients, it's the perfect base for any makeup application. It truly made my skin look and feel like my skin. This sunscreen is just so wonderful that it makes me want to not only wear sunscreen every day but actually reapply it every 2-3 hours. (like we are supposed to!)
