The Hair and Makeup at the 2021 BRIT Awards Are as Eccentric and Exciting as We Could've Hoped

"I wanted to make it very British, quite London, have some fun with it," Lipa said on the red carpet of her overall look for the 2021 BRITs. When it came to her hair and makeup, that meant a voluminous beehive reminiscent of Amy Winehouse's signature style, created by Luke Hersheson using the Hershesons Almost Everything Cream and a whole lot of back-brushing. As for her makeup, the vibe was "Rococo Punk Princess" according to Lisa Eldridge, who was responsible for the look that was all about draped pink blush and matching eye shadow.

Most unique and unexpected beauty look of the night goes to the winner of the Rising Star Award, Griff. With lilac pigment stippled down her forehead, iridescent tears, stick-straight hair, and a veil made of crystal baubles, she looked magical and otherworldly.

We can't get over Billy Porter's epic all-black ensemble and beauty look on the red carpet, which featured a matte black lip and a diffused black smoky eye with a shimmery silver centre, topped off with tiny crystals on the inner corners of his eyes.

Arlo Parks paired her signature short crop — which was created by Alisha Dobson using Bleach London's Tangerine Dream mixed with some Beer Conditioner to soften the rich copper tone — with a gorgeous reddish-purple shadow and beautiful glowing skin created by makeup artist Emilie Louizides.

Mabel looked ultraglam with '90s-style makeup by Nikki Wolff and a curly updo created by hairstylist Rio Sreedharan.

Another star giving us major '90s vibes at the BRITs, La Havas's high, braided ponytail — created by hairstylist Lauraine Bailey — was a thing of beauty (we absolutely love the two face-framing plaits). As for her makeup, Celia Burton kept things warm-toned and neutral using all Glossier products (the lipstick is Generation G Lipstick in Leo, in case you were wondering).

MNEK debuted pastel pink hair — coloured and styled but Adjhani Kim Barton – at this year's BRITs and we adore it. Sticking to the pastel theme of the overall ensemble, his makeup makeup artist Moomal Moghul matched MNEK's eye makeup to his stylish baby blue suit. Look closely and you can also spot some super intricate nail art.

Raye went for an Old Hollywood vibe, looking lovely in a powerful red lip, fluffy lashes, and a classic waved hairstyle that both showed off her choker and dramatic neckline.

Rina Sawayama wore one of the most incredible dresses of the night but it certainly didn't mean her beauty look was boring. If you look close enough, you'll see Sawayama's double winged liner moment using black and pearlescent liner created by makeup artist Ana Takahashi, with slicked back hair by Jake Gallagher. We also loved her long milky white manicure.
