BRIT Awards 2021: The Best Celebrity Hair and Makeup Looks

The Hair and Makeup at the 2021 BRIT Awards Are as Eccentric and Exciting as We Could've Hoped

The 2021 BRIT Awards have been a long time coming — as were the beauty looks that accompany the annual event. This year's award show was postponed by three months due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it was well worth the wait to see what our favourite celebrities were going to do when it comes to their hair and makeup.

Right off the bat, the red carpet beauty was even more exciting than we could have hoped for. Dua Lipa stunned us with an incredible towering beehive, which brought to mind Amy Winehouse's iconic hairdo, and Griff gave us a truly out-of-this-world look with lilac makeup and a crystal-embellished headpiece. Billy Porter went for an all-black ensemble for the occasion, which included jet-black lipstick and smoky eyes, but he was sure to add a teeny-tiny crystal to the inner corners of his eyes to give the beauty a little bling.

Dua Lipa's Towering Beehive at the 2021 BRIT Awards

"I wanted to make it very British, quite London, have some fun with it," Lipa said on the red carpet of her overall look for the 2021 BRITs. When it came to her hair and makeup, that meant a voluminous beehive reminiscent of Amy Winehouse's signature style, created by Luke Hersheson using the Hershesons Almost Everything Cream and a whole lot of back-brushing. As for her makeup, the vibe was "Rococo Punk Princess" according to Lisa Eldridge, who was responsible for the look that was all about draped pink blush and matching eye shadow.

Griff's Dreamy Pastel Makeup at the 2021 BRIT Awards

Most unique and unexpected beauty look of the night goes to the winner of the Rising Star Award, Griff. With lilac pigment stippled down her forehead, iridescent tears, stick-straight hair, and a veil made of crystal baubles, she looked magical and otherworldly.

Griff's Bubble Ponytail at the 2021 BRIT Awards

Griff switched things up for her performance of her single "Black Hole", and to accept the BRIT Rising Star Award. Backstage, hairstylist Tomi Roppongi slicked back Griff's hair into an extra-long, jewel-embellished bubble braid, which has become something of a signature hairstyle for the singer, and a look we won't soon forget.

Billy Porter's Matte Black Lipstick at the 2021 BRIT Awards

We can't get over Billy Porter's epic all-black ensemble and beauty look on the red carpet, which featured a matte black lip and a diffused black smoky eye with a shimmery silver centre, topped off with tiny crystals on the inner corners of his eyes.

Arlo Park's Cranberry Shadow at the 2021 BRIT Awards

Arlo Parks paired her signature short crop — which was created by Alisha Dobson using Bleach London's Tangerine Dream mixed with some Beer Conditioner to soften the rich copper tone — with a gorgeous reddish-purple shadow and beautiful glowing skin created by makeup artist Emilie Louizides.

Maya Jama's '90s Nude Makeup at the 2021 BRIT Awards

Maya Jama always knows how to win us over with a simple yet ultraglamorous beauty look, and the 2021 BRIT Awards were no different. She went for a soft brown smoky eye with winged liner and a '90s-inspired glossy nude shade for her lips, executed by makeup artist Francesca Abrahamovitch, who shared with us all the details of the look.

Lianne La Havas's Braided Ponytail at the 2021 BRIT Awards

Another star giving us major '90s vibes at the BRITs, La Havas's high, braided ponytail — created by hairstylist Lauraine Bailey — was a thing of beauty (we absolutely love the two face-framing plaits). As for her makeup, Celia Burton kept things warm-toned and neutral using all Glossier products (the lipstick is Generation G Lipstick in Leo, in case you were wondering).

MNEK's Pastel Pink Hair at the 2021 BRIT Awards

MNEK debuted pastel pink hair — coloured and styled but Adjhani Kim Barton – at this year's BRITs and we adore it. Sticking to the pastel theme of the overall ensemble, his makeup makeup artist Moomal Moghul matched MNEK's eye makeup to his stylish baby blue suit. Look closely and you can also spot some super intricate nail art.

Jessie Ware's Midnight-Blue Liner at the 2021 BRIT Awards

Jessie Ware gave us a lesson in wearing coloured eyeliner on the red carpet. Makeup artist Francesca Brazzo created a beautiful midnight-blue cat eye and a glossy peachy-pink lipstick for the occasion, whilst hairstylist Patrick Wilson kept things simple yet polished with a smooth blowout.

Raye's Classic Red Lip at the 2021 BRIT Awards

Raye went for an Old Hollywood vibe, looking lovely in a powerful red lip, fluffy lashes, and a classic waved hairstyle that both showed off her choker and dramatic neckline.

Rina Sawayama's Double Winged Liner at the 2021 BRIT Awards

Rina Sawayama wore one of the most incredible dresses of the night but it certainly didn't mean her beauty look was boring. If you look close enough, you'll see Sawayama's double winged liner moment using black and pearlescent liner created by makeup artist Ana Takahashi, with slicked back hair by Jake Gallagher. We also loved her long milky white manicure.

Little Mix's Bronzed Glam at the 2021 BRIT Awards

Little Mix looked beautiful in all white for this year's red carpet, Leigh-Anne wore a braided ponytail, Jade wore her hair extra long, and Perrie stuck with her stylish face framing plaits, which are giving us flashbacks to the '90s. All three of them decided to go with a bronzed look for their makeup.
