Cardi B hopped on Instagram this afternoon to share a message about not wearing makeup [3], and it's probably one of the most important things we've heard all day. On Feb. 9, the "Up" rapper shared a video of herself 20 minutes after waking up and wearing no makeup, and in it, she addresses a few online trolls who've criticised paparazzi photos of her bare face in the past.
"This is me with no makeup," she said. "No filter — you can see all the little blemishes on my face [4]. You can see my lips are chapped . . . I didn't even brush my hair." Cardi added that she feels confident even when she's not in full glam, and called out the internet's incredibly bad habit of making attempts to humble women whenever they feel good about themselves or feel comfortable in their own skin.
"Every single a time a bitch is feeling good . . . When y'all see them doing good, y'all be trying to put their confidence down," she said. "That don't work on me anymore." She ends the video by making it clear that she's happy no matter what her haters are saying about her, and we honestly can't agree with her message more.
Cardi B has never been shy about sharing photos and videos of herself makeup-free, but her most recent video has made us even more appreciative of her realness.
