All We Want For Christmas Are The Chanel Nail Stickers From the Métiers d'Art Show

Airline strikes be damned, Chanel's Métiers d'Art 2019-2020 show took place in Paris last night at the Grand Palais. The runway collection is the brand's yearly tribute to the small specialist workshops that help create its collections, like the milliner who crafts the hats, or the plumassier who hand-makes the camellia flowers that punctuate coats, bags, and even the models' hair. And while all eyes were on the clothes, the models on the catwalk (which included Kaia Gerber [1] and Gigi Hadid), the celebrities in the front row (like Penelope Cruz [2] and Kristen Stewart [3]), and the dazzling set (which was a reconstruction of designer Gabrielle Chanel's apartment on rue Cambon), the beauty of the show was definitely (and literally) in the details: from the gorgeous sequins woven into the tweed jackets and skirts to the slick-and-sophisticated beauty looks, which included double "C" decals on the nails, camellia flower ponytail holders, and the tiny crystals that were placed delicately at the inner corners of the models' eyes.

Lucia Pica, Chanel's global creative makeup and colour designer, created three different makeup looks for the show: a glossy burgundy lip (worn by Gerber), high-shine silver shadow smudged around the lids, and two tiny crystals placed at the tear duct of each eye, a makeup look that was simultaneously both understated and statement-making. "It's '90s, minimalist, and a little bit tough — but not really," Pica said of the looks in a video posted to her Instagram stories.

As for the hair, Sam McKnight — who on Monday took home the Isabella Blow Award [4] at the British Fashion Awards — also dreamed up several different styles for the catwalk. A majority of the models wore their hair in a wet-looking French-twisted ponytail, while others sported a low ponytail — complete with camellia flower bow. A few models wore big black velvet headbands (looks like that trend isn't going away anytime soon) or got to keep their hair down in loose waves, which were broken apart and given volume with a few blasts of McKnight's Cool Girl Barely There Texture Mist [5] (£25).

Speaking of attention to details, nail artist Jenny Longworth dressed up the nails with either tiny Chanel logos on a sheer base, or what appears to be the brand's iconic Vamp nail polish. "It was Chanel down to the nails," Longworth said on her Instagram, which you can see all of in the following runway and behind-the-scenes photos from the Chanel Métiers d'Art 2019-2020 show.
