I'm one of those people who has chronically dry skin. No matter how many glasses of water I guzzle or pumps of hyaluronic acid I use, combatting dry skin is something that I'm always thinking about. So along with my skin care, I expect my makeup to also help me work toward the goal of full-time dewiness — not just superficially. I'm all about hard-working, multi-tasking makeup that won't actually make my skin worse after I take it off.
Say hello to my latest makeup obsession: Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint. A hybrid between a tinted moisturiser and light-coverage foundation, the hydrating formula on this baby is truly revolutionary. The foundation itself is made with MicroFluidic technology, meaning it's composed of 75 percent water. You can literally see the droplets of water in the bottle and when you pump it onto your hand.
When you pump the foundation onto the back of your hand, you'll see the water mixed with little droplets of colour. Take the handy brush that comes with the product and blend the water and micro-droplets — it mixes into smooth, lightweight pigment that glides onto your skin like butter.
It's definitely on the lighter side when it comes to coverage, but it leaves skin with the perfect blur and a nice pillowy glow. It doesn't seep into creases or pill during the day — it wears more like a tinted moisturiser and sits just right on its own or under a dab of highlighter and blush. It honestly just makes my natural skin look like it's most healthy, hydrated self. Plus, when I take it off, my skin doesn't feel stripped or tight.
