When you think of your traditional creative outlets, music, dancing, and art probably come to mind, but there are endless ways to express yourself with beauty [1], and that's not just limited to makeup or hair. Nails are also one of the easiest ways to showcase your creativity.
Nail art and designs aside, simply choosing a certain nail polish colour can reflect your personality [2]. Bright colours can give off an electric energy, for example, while neutral shades can help you feel calm and grounded. That's why Orosa Beauty [3] partnered with TikTok creators Charli [4] and Dixie D'Amelio [5] for a collaboration called Coastal Craze, which encourages beauty-lovers to use nail polish as a form of self-expression and make a statement.
"I love doing my nails," Charli told POPSUGAR. "That's something that I've really enjoyed doing and that I've always been very good at keeping up with. The little things, like getting your nails done with fun colours that match your personality, is something that may seem so small but is really cool." Dixie, who fell in love with painting her nails agreed: "I never really wore nails cause I was playing sports, but when I did, it just made me so much happier [6], and I felt so much more put-together."
This partnership started way before Orosa Beauty came to the sisters with the idea for a collaboration. "We actually fell in love with the brand the first time we used it," said Dixie. "It dries so fast, which is very good because we're both very impatient, and it just made it supereasy to do at home."
Costal Craze, which launches on Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. PDT/2 p.m. EDT features eight limited-edition nail polish colours that were curated by Charli and Dixie themselves. "We had just gotten back from our holiday and fell in love with The Bahamas, and that was what inspired us for all the colours and the names," said Dixie. Charli added, "We were really able to make it a true collaboration where we were able to pick the colours, and the names, and really put our input into it."
Charli's four colours include #1 Baby, Bahama Blue, Beauty Sunset, and Piggy Pink (her favourite), while Dixie's are named Abyss, Baecation, Cove, and Rapids. "The four colours I picked were very vibrant and beachy — like bright sunglasses or a beach umbrella," said Charli. "Dixie went for more of the sand, water, and nature-inspired shades. They really are like our personalities in colours."
