Untouchable and invincible as they may seem, celebrities are still susceptible to the everyday beauty woes we plebeians deal with. Take Dua Lipa, for example. The "Physical" singer just debuted a brand-new fringe born not out of the desire to experiment with a fresh look but rather of necessity due to some bleach-related damage.
Ever since the end of 2019, Lipa's been rocking a cool two-toned hairstyle that's bright blonde on top and black underneath, consistently opting for '90s-style face-framing tendrils or barrettes and a centre part. But this week, she stepped out in New York City with bangs, which we haven't seen on her since she went full-on Dora the Explorer (in the chicest way possible, obviously) last September. Her new fringe is blonde and hit well above her eyebrows. In a now-deleted post on Instagram Stories, the 24-year-old artist informed her followers, "PSA: this is not a haircut. It's bleached breakages but im runnin w it."
This came just a few months after a similar mishap fell upon Billie Eilish, who accidentally hopped aboard the mullet bandwagon when parts of her neon-green hair literally burned off during the dyeing process. The unfortunate situation wound up favouring both singers, but not every hair-dye aficionado can be so lucky.
