Whether it's the harsh coldness, my sensitive, reactive skin, or dehydration, I've been noticing my complexion becoming drier and dull. I often waking up to flaky patches on my face. My skin was easily irritable as well, and then it all clicked: I wrecked my skin's moisture barrier. I needed to show my skin some love with moisturising and hydrating products that can restore it to its optimal state. I tested out the luxurious Eighth Day Reparative Moisturiser, and the extremely gentle and hydrating formula did wonders for my skin. Within a few uses, I noticed a luminous glow, and it only got better from there. When I looked into why this product can do so much without feeling harsh and, in fact, improve the state of my skin, the science-backed nutrient-rich formulation is the key.

The Reparative Moisturiser aims to hydrate and repair damaged skin, including protecting and healing your skin's barrier. It targets and treats concerns like loss of volume and firmness, fine lines and wrinkles, dullness, and dark spots. It can tackle a variety of these concerns since it's loaded with skin-loving ingredients. The moisturiser has a nutrient-rich blend of vitamins A, C, and E plus antioxidants like resveratrol, ferulic acid, and COQ10 and even an amino acid that inhibits tyrosinase and elastase production for an even skin tone and texture appearance. It's also packed with moisturising and hydrating ingredients like ceramide proteins, linseed, which is rich in fatty acids that minimize water loss from the skin, and a fermented marine compound that boosts skin hydration.

Even with all this goodness, there's a star ingredient that takes this formula to the next level, peptide-rich plasma. Inspired by how the skin has the innate ability to heal itself, Dr. Antony Nakhla formulated peptide-rich plasma to help your skin do its job efficiently. The patent-pending ingredient uses stem cell technology that aids your own skin cells to heal, repair, and restore itself to optimum health, with the help of peptides, growth factors, and amino acids.

I tested out the moisturiser for around two weeks, using it every morning and night. Keep reading for my in-depth review.

How I Used Eighth Day's The Reparative Moisturiser

Eighth Day's The Reparative Moisturiser feels rich and velvety in texture, but once applied to the skin, it's weightless and hydrating. It has a slightly fresh botanical scent. It gives your skin the perfect amount of moisture without needing to use too much. It's not greasy or heavy either! All you need is around a pump for your face, and if you want to target your neck as well, two pumps should do the trick. It sinks into the skin but forms a hydrated, moisturised base. My skin instantly looked and felt hydrated with an awakened and plumped-up appearance.

My Results Using Eighth Day's The Reparative Moisturiser

What I love about this moisturiser is that, although there are instant results, the cream works to improve your skin and protect it throughout the day as well. My skin stays hydrated and moisturised all day and night long, even with sunscreen and makeup on top. In fact, it's perfect as a hydrating primer as well. The moisturiser gives my complexion a glow-from-within, radiant look that lasts all day long as well.

Eighth Day's The Reparative Moisturiser has also done wonders for my dehydrated, easily irritated areas of my skin. After only a few uses, my dry patches have disappeared, and areas of irritation have diminished and calmed down. In fact, my eye area has been extra dry these last few weeks, and with this moisturiser, I don't even need an eye cream. I wasn't surprised at these results since the main ingredients of the moisturiser pretty much target those exact concerns. With this moisturiser, I felt my skin was becoming healthier and more balanced. My skin felt softer and looked more even-toned as well. It gives you that "my skin but better" feel.

Is Eighth Day's The Reparative Moisturiser Worth It?

The price of Eighth Day's The Reparative Moisturiser ($180) is evidently expensive. However, this moisturiser is the perfect blend of a luxurious user experience and science-driven visible results. The price reflects the highly-effective ingredients and expert formulation to truly give the skin what it needs to repair itself. If you can afford to use it consistently to see results, I highly recommend it. But, if you can't afford it, the moisturiser won't make or break your routine either. Regardless of your budget, nothing beats a consistent skin-care routine with the right balance of actives and hydrating products and, of course, wearing sunscreen every day.
