Garnier Is Officially a Cruelty-Free Brand

Today in news we love to see: Garnier's products are officially 100 percent cruelty-free. The L'Oréal-owned beauty brand revealed in a statement released on March 9 that it's now Leaping Bunny-certified after spending several months working with Cruelty Free International to investigate the entirety of its supply chain for any evidence of animal testing. CoverGirl took the same approach and got its official seal back in 2018.

"Garnier has been committed to a world without animal testing," global brand president Adrien Koskas said in a statement. "To be officially approved by Cruelty Free International under the Leaping Bunny program is a real milestone and was always an important part of our greener beauty mission. Today, Garnier takes another Green step towards becoming a fully committed, truly sustainable, transparent brand that delivers greener beauty for all of us."

This news follows Garnier's 2020 announcement to become more sustainable, and to make sustainable beauty products more accessible to all groups. Its Leaping Bunny certification means that every product in its portfolio — from the Micellar Water to the Sleek & Shine Leave-In Conditioner — will now bear the Leaping Bunny logo so that animal-lovers looking to shop responsibly can now purchase the products free of guilt.
