Tessica Brown is making the most of her viral fame. In news that we all should have definitely seen coming, the internet sensation recently announced that she's launching her own line of hair-care products called Forever Hair [3] after going viral back in February for mistakenly spraying her hair with Gorilla Glue [4].
Brown's story made headlines earlier this year, and thousands of users on social media closely followed her journey after a mishap with the industrial adhesive left her hair stuck in the same style for over a month. As her online following climbed rapidly, Brown shared more of her initial attempts to remove the glue from her hair at home before eventually seeking medical treatment. By mid-February, she was able to connect with a plastic surgeon — Dr. Michael Obeng, who owns a practice in Beverly Hills — who removed the glue via a cocktail of ingredients that helped dissolve it in just under four hours.
This month, Brown announced her product line via Instagram [5], where she currently has a following of 674,000 users. According to a video shared on June 16, one of the first products on the brand's roster is a hair oil made with avocado and castor oils to stimulate growth, and it's what Brown claims to have used to get her hair to grow back and heal her scalp after the glue fiasco.
"I ended up losing my hair and having scalp damage, but since then, I've been working with professionals to create and formulate a hair growth oil," she said. "I needed this oil to heal my scalp, I needed to grow by hair back, I needed to stimulate my follicles, and on top of that, I needed everything to be all natural."
Brown says she's been using the oil for around two months and has seen great results. The oil is currently available on the Forever Hair website alongside a Forever Hold flake-free hairspray and an edge control gel that will be available for purchase soon.
