You know the hair that actresses have in every summer movie based in a beautiful coastal town? The effortlessly tousled, bouncy beach waves? Yeah, that's the type of hair I want every day. Given that mine always air-dries somewhere between slightly wavy (but with no rhyme or reason to it) and straight with a weird flip at the end, that's hard for me to achieve — save for the times when I can actually get to the beach — without some additional help.

IGK Hair Beach Club Bouncy Blowout Cream
The IGK Hair Beach Club Bouncy Blowout Cream ($27) is a lightweight leave-in hair cream that's meant to be worked into damp hair before blow-drying. It adds volume and lift to hair that results in bouncy movement. While helping give your hair soft, full body, it also protects again heat to up to 450 degrees.
As someone who's fairly resistant to blow-drying their hair — and quite honestly, very inexperienced in making it look good — you can trust that I'm hard to impress when it comes to these types of styling products. After working the cream into my freshly washed hair and sectioning it, I dived right in with my round brush hair-dryer combo tool and tried to mimic the twisting motion that I see stylists do at the salon.

The cream allowed my hair to dry smooth and reduced the halo of frizz that I usually get with blow-drying. When I finished my entire head, it felt as if I had nothing in my hair at all. The movement and shine alone with this product is enough to make me consider making this a regular habit.

Next up, the IGK Hair Beach Club Soft Texture Paste ($25). This product is meant to be used separately from the blowout cream because it gives you an entirely different look. The paste results in piecey, defined waves. Think: similar to a salt spray but without the salt and, therefore, without the stickiness. It's meant to be worked into the ends of dry or damp hair to add defined texture that still feels soft to the touch.

I had never used a texture paste before but am well-versed in using salt sprays to fake beach waves. After working a small amount of the paste between my hands to warm it up, I ran my fingers through the ends of my hair and scrunched upwards to add more body. This resulted in piecey separation to my hair with absolutely no crunchy or dry feeling in my ends. Oh, and did I mention it has a delicious coconut scent that smells nothing short of a piña colada in a tub?
