The Simple Reason Why Jada Pinkett Smith Just Shaved Her Head: "Willow Made Me Do It"
Jada Pinkett Smith and Willow Smith are still the coolest mum and daughter duo around, and we're looking at their new hairstyles as proof. Just over a month after documenting their experiences getting matching generational tattoos with Gammy on Red Table Talk, the duo revealed via Instagram that they both recently shaved their heads.
Willow shared a selfie of them showing off their matching buzz cuts on July 12. Shortly after, Jada shared a screenshot of the photo to her own Instagram, writing in the caption that she decided to shave her head because of Willow's nudging.
"Willow made me do it because it was time to let go BUT … my 50's are bout to be Divinely lit with this shed❣️😜" she wrote.
This isn't a huge change for Willow since she typically switches her hair back and forth between a buzz cut and longer, sometimes braided, hairstyles. Jada, on the other hand, has been wearing short hairstyles for decades, though, if we're not mistaken, we haven't seen her hair this short since the late '90s. The Girls Trip star made it clear in her caption that she's turning 50 in just over two months, so the cut is likely her way of starting off this new chapter a little early with a fresh look — and, yes, we love that for her.
