Katy Perry [2] is going back to the basics with her nails. On 28 Jan., the singer attended the G'Day USA Arts Gala in LA wearing a metallic two-piece Zimmerman set and a milk-bath manicure [3] to finish it off.

Perry's nails were filed into an oval shape [4] and painted a creamy-pink colour [5] — the quintessential shade used to give the nails a milky finish. Perry opted out of any additional nail-art designs, allowing the simple colour to shine on its own. The rest of Perry's look included a monochromatic peach makeup look and a sleek updo.

Milk-bath manicures have been spotted on numerous Hollywood A-listers, and have become a staple for red carpets and formal occasions.
