I Previewed Every Item From the KKW x Allison Makeup Collab, and Here Are My Thoughts

28/08/2020 - 01:17 AM

Sure, it's fun to test out a blue eyeliner or a glittery lip gloss from the trendy beauty collaborations that keep popping up, but is it what I want for my every day look? No. Especially not while I'm sheltering in place. That's why the new KKW x Allison collection [1] ($18-$38) that comes out today at 12 pm PT is a breath of fresh air. It's makeup in flattering, neutral shades that I'll actually use right now.

KKW Beauty [2] is already known for mastering taupes, tans, and every shade in-between, but this new line Kim Kardashian [3] created with her lifelong BFF Allison Statter takes it to the next level. Along with the brand's signature neutrals, I was excited to see little surprises like a shimmery lilac shadow and berry-hued lip crayon. Kim and Allison's tastes harmonize perfectly — a true match made in makeup heaven.

I got a first look at the entire collab this week, and I tested out every single product. Ahead, read my honest review on all the new offerings (FYI, I'm wearing every release in my selfie!) and score consider a few essentials for yourself. It'll be the smartest purchase you've made all August.

The KKW x Allison Press Package

You can always count on Kim for an Instagram-worthy moment with her packageing. I love that the sleeves for the palettes are covered in throwback photos. This collection would be a sweet gift to give your own BFF.

A Closer Look at the Face Palettes

The KKW x Allison Face Palettes [5] ($38) are one of my favourite options from the collection. You can get so much use out of them (I have already used both multiple times this week).

KKW x Allison Face Palette in Ladera

For someone who is fair or pale like myself, the blush from the KKW x Allison Face Palette in Ladera [6] ($38) is very flattering. I love the tone of the bronzer too and would even use it as eyeshadow.

KKW x Allison Face Palette in Tower Lane

KKW x Allison Face Palette in Tower Lane [7] ($38) is perfect for a classic look — I was especially impressed with the colour payoff of the shimmery highlighter. The blush and bronzer blend effortlessly as well.

KKW x Allison B.F.F.A.E. Eyeshadow Palette

In my selfie, I'm wearing all the shades in this KKW x Allison B.F.F.A.E. Eyeshadow Palette [8] ($30) — I almost never do that. The darker colours seamlessly add definition to my crease without looking harsh. The matte and shimmery cream hues are ideal for highlighting the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes. I love the tan shadow for blending out harsh lines. But the crowning glory of this palette is 143, the lavender shade. I put it across the centre of my lid and love the metallic finish. It adds personally without looking kitschy or overly trendy.

KKW x Allison Lip Crayon in Palm Springs

This KKW x Allison Lip Crayon in Palm Springs [9] ($18) tastes like vanilla and coconut; the smell reminds me of fresh-baked cookies. This neutral shade is totally Kim and I love it for adding just a hint of colour for work video meetings. It's the ultimate neutral.

KKW x Allison Lip Crayon in London

The KKW x Allison Lip Crayon in London [10] ($18) is universally flattering — it looks beautiful on all skin tones. I appreciate the smooth finish that is moisturising, yet still has staying power. One application lasts for hours.

KKW x Allison P.P.S. Gloss

C'mon, you could never go wrong with this KKW x Allison P.P.S. Gloss [11] ($20). Every beauty-lover should have this staple on their vanity. It instantly adds dimension to a matte lip, or looks chic and simple on its own. This one isn't sticky or tacky at all.

KKW x Allison Complete Collection

Love it all? You can get the KKW x Allison Complete Collection [12] ($150, valued at $162) for a deal. I can honestly say that I love every item and will be wearing them all on the regular.
