Some people prioritise spring cleaning at the start of this season, but we prioritise revamping our beauty routines. The overhaul is top-down — from the hair colours we bring to the salon and the makeup looks we set out to try all the to the colour we choose for our nails.

One of the best hues for spring this year? Lavender nails. This light purple shade has been seen all over the runways during fashion month, currently trending as one of the most popular manicure colours of the season. "Lavender always invokes the feeling of spring for me," celebrity manicurist Elle Gerstein tells POPSUGAR. "It's a tranquil colour."

The next best thing about the shade? "Lavender is incredibly easy to wear," celebrity manicurist Julie Kandalec tells POPSUGAR. "It's a non-boring neutral that still has some pizzaz." That means it can be worn as simply (like two coats of your favourite lavender nail polish) or dramatic (read: with glitter, as a negative space design, at the tips of your french manicure, and beyond) as you'd like, and it would still look wearable for everyday.

If you are someone who likes to do your manicures at home, Kandalec's favourite lavender nail polish is the CND Vinylux Longwear Nail Polish in Wisteria Haze (£9), which is a perfect opaque hue. Still, if you're looking for more than one way to wear the lavender nail trend, we've rounded up some of our favourite nail art looks to bring to your next appointment.

French manicures will continue to trend this year, so why not combine the two trends for a chic and timeless look? These nails can take you from work to happy hour in a breeze.

To level up your lavender nail art, "try using chrome effects to create a gloss and high shine," Gerstein says.

These lavender coffin nails combine both the addition of gems as well as glitter accent fingers for a manicure that is two steps above the rest.

A simple way to make a manicure stand out is by adding a matte top coat. Try these matte lavender nails for an easy hack that ensures your nails won't be missed.
