Lucy Boynton Once Again Proved She's Incapable of Being Boring With a Pearl-Lined Part at the Oscars

Leave it to Lucy Boynton to experiment with her beauty look at the 2020 Oscars, proving that she's totally incapable of being boring. The Politician actor wore her hair in soft waves with a pearl-embellished side part, complementing the statement-making style with a bold red lip and extralong top and bottom lashes. Luckily for us, her team shared exactly how they created the look on their social media accounts.

Hairstylist Jenny Cho [1] was the master behind the hairstyle and used the extraluxurious Hair Ritual by Sisley products to create it. On freshly washed and blow-dried hair, Cho created loose, S-shaped waves using a straightener. Once all the hair was waved, she took one pump of the Hair Ritual by Sisley Precious Hair Care Oil [2] (£75), rubbed it between her palms, and ran the oil through Boynton's hair, which both broke up and loosened the waves for the perfect undone texture.

For the hair finale, Cho glued flat-backed pearls along Boynton's side part, using used Moco de Gorila Gel Extreme Hold (Gorilla Snot Gel) to secure them [3] and told Allure that she took the inspiration from Boynton's Chanel dress [4]..

In fact, Boynton wore Chanel from head-to-toe on the Oscars red carpet. Using all Chanel Beauty products, Boynton's makeup artist Jo Baker [5] (who is the woman behind many of her best makeup looks [6]) create a look that was beautifully simplistic, featuring a classic red lip and dramatic black lashes.

Baker started by prepping the skin with Chanel Le Lift Eye Patches [7], Weleda Gentle Cleansing Milk [8] (£12), Weleda Almond Soothing Facial Cream [9] (£18), and finally Weleda Awakening Eye Cream [10] (£29). After applying a foundation with a luminous finish, Baker then moved onto the eyes. She coated both top and bottom lashes with multiple layers of Le Volume Révolution de Chanel Mascara [11] (£28) until they looked long and almost spidery (in a good way).

Next, it was time for the main makeup event: the lips. "A red lip says, I'm bold, I'm confident, I'm feminine, I'm strong, and I'm here and I want you to see me," Baker wrote on her Instagram stories. And damn, did we see Boynton. Baker applied Chanel's limited-edition Rouge Allure Velvet Camélia Carmin [12](£33) using a small brush to start and dabbed straight from the bullet as Boynton was walking out the door.

For the final touch, manicurist Steph Stone [13] created a black moon manicure using Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in Pure Black, which matched Boynton's dress perfectly.

Read on to see Boynton's finished look from all angles, along with behind-the-scenes shots and inspirations.
