Madonna [1]'s been a legend for a long time, but even she's still checking off boxes on her list of firsts. The singer just got her very first tattoo [2] this week, and the whole thing gives a new meaning to the lyric "touched for the very first time."

Madonna took to Instagram on Dec. 7 to share a series of photos documenting her visit to the Shamrock Social Club [3] tattoo parlor in Hollywood. In the photos, she's seen chatting with artist East Iz [4] and finalizing her design before being captured getting the tattoo. The "Vogue" singer ended up getting the initials of all six of her children — Lourdes, Rocco, David, Mercy, Stella, and Estere — drawn in typewriter font on her left wrist [5].

"Inked for The Very First Time..............✍️," the photo's caption reads. We'll let this serve as a small reminder that it's never too late to complete a first. Check out the Instagram post above.
