Miley Cyrus Got a New Henri Matisse-Inspired Tattoo

Miley Cyrus Has an Armful of Tattoos, but Her Newest Is an Actual Work of Art

Miley Cyrus's body is a canvas for some gorgeous tattoos. During her last session in December, she had "Freedom" inked on her hand, as well as a copy of a handwritten note she once received from Yoko Ono. On Monday, the 26-year-old singer debuted her newest tattoo on her arm, and it's actually a work of art by Henri Matisse. Tattoo artist Nico Bassill tattooed the outlined image on Cyrus's arm, which came from Dance Me to the End of Love, a book that visualized Leonard Cohen's song of the same name with illustrations by Matisse.

Like each of Cyrus's tattoos, her latest has a special meaning. While showing off her new ink on Instagram, she shared the lyrics to Cohen's 1984 song: "Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin. Dance me through the panic till I'm gathered safely in. Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove. Dance me to the end of love," she quoted. It's possible she's referencing boyfriend Cody Simpson with the lyrics to the romantic song, as he also got a tattoo with Bassill during their session.
