How the Milk Makeup Kush Triple Brow Pen Took My Full Eyebrows From Sloppy to Sleek

Other than the two times I swept on some gel before a virtual happy hour, I haven't done anything to my brows since early March. As you can see, I am blessed with rather full ones and managed to come out of the pluck-happy '90s with all my hair intact. I know I'm being tactful in my description, but I've grown accustomed to their natural unruliness over the years.
I don't own any brow scissors or tweezers, so even if I wanted to clean things up in the two months since I've gotten them waxed, I couldn't. Instead, I'm using this time to experiment with beauty treatments and decided to see just how bold I could make my already-bold brows with the new Kush Triple Brow Pen from Milk Makeup.
I really had to get a grip on how to best use this product, and I'm sharing what I've learned with you ahead.
First Impressions of the Milk Makeup Kush Triple Brow Pen
When it comes to eyebrow products, I gravitate toward gel formulas since the easy-to-use, mascara-like wands add a touch of colour while also taming at the same time. And, because I've never lacked hair in the brow department and used anything like the Milk Makeup Kush Triple Brow Pen ($22), I assumed it would be like filling them in with a pen.
Wrong.
What makes this pen so unique is that there are three tiny tips on this felt-tipped applicator. If you tackle your brow like you would a slant-tip marker, you're going to end up with a ton of colour in a thick, watercolor-like line. This product worked for me is because my black hair was easy to match with the darkest available colour out of the eight (Cypher), and my darker skin and already-full brows were more forgiving of any excessive marks as everything blended together.
The Most Important Thing to Do Before Using This Pen on Your Brows
In this macro shot of my (very dry) hands, you'll notice what I'm talking about when it comes to the tip of this pen. You need to use a very gentle motion for the most natural look, bouncing and flicking lines on your brows on the diagonal (so all three tips hit, yet barely touch, your skin). If you press down even a little, you'll get the bottom result vs. the top one.
Now some spots are a bit fuller than I'd like in my pictures (which I took on my first try) but, once I practiced on my hand, I got it right from there on out. It may sound like overkill now, but I'd absolutely recommend testing the pen out on your own hand first so you understand the pressure and angle that will achieve the desired final look on your face.
Final Thoughts on the Milk Makeup Kush Triple Brow Pen
From a regular distance away, the filled-in areas aren't as obvious as they are from selfie range. I also personally feel like a bolder brow better frames my otherwise makeup-free face. If that's not for you, here are two small adjustments I'd make.
For a barely-there look: Tilt the pen so just one of the three tips touches your face before lightly making marks of varying lengths only where you have a patchy spot (and, again, an exceptionally light touch that results in a very fine line is key). Let this dry for about a minute and then finish it off with a clear gel that separates the individual hairs and sets both the colour and your brow shape in place.
For a multidimensional look: Apply this product in the same soft way to add a light fill and slight colour in the middle of your brows only, gently using all three tips at once. On the ends of your brows, opt for a fine-tipped pencil that can more accurately guarantee a thin line or, if you need less filling in at the start of your brows (closest to your nose), use a brow gel there to just add a hint of colour to your existing hair instead.
