Olivia Rodrigo's Subtle New Curtain Bangs Are a Great Example of Easing Into the Trend
The curtain bangs comeback is still going strong, and now, "Drivers Licence" star Olivia Rodrigo is dipping her toe into the trend. We first noticed the singer's new look during a SiriusXM interview; she later shared a mirror selfie of her haircut on Instagram. For a style rooted in nostalgia, it looks magnificently modern on Rodrigo.
Curtain bangs can certainly vary in look and drama. Rodrigo's bangs, for example, are closer to face-framing layers than the full textured fringe we've seen on other stars. However, there's no denying where her stylist, Clayton Hawkins, drew inspiration from. He specifically called the look "'70s bangs" on his own Instagram — case closed, folks. It appears Hawkins also took Rodrigo's hair slightly darker in colour, neutralising her golden-brown ends. A subtle, yet sweet, change.
