Many of us look forward to Black Friday as an opportunity to snag deals on some of the items on our shopping list, but there's no denying that the annual holiday event encourages some not-so-conscious environmental and spending decisions. To help combat that, Deciem is hitting pause on the popular retail shopping day by boycotting Nov. 27 this year and encourageing responsible shopping all month long with its new initiative called KNOWvember.
Instead of offering 24-hour flash deals, Deciem is cautioning people to shop slowly by having a month-long sale of 23 percent off products from all of its brands, including The Ordinary. By doing this, the beauty company hopes to be kinder to our planet by cutting down on the amount of excess waste produced by Black Friday sales and motivate thoughtful spending instead of impulse buys.
