There is a reason parents, teachers, doctors, dermatologists, and just about every beauty writer in the world tells us to stop squeezing our spots and picking at our faces. So why do we still do it? Well, there's nothing quite like the feeling of satisfaction when you get that stubborn blackhead to the surface, but is it really worth the potential scarring afterwards?
Squeezing leads to bleeding, and bleeding leads to permanent marks. On top of this, every time you put your hands on your face, you're transferring bacteria from whatever you touched before, be it a door handle, a computer keyboard, or a mobile phone. You might get rid of one spot, but you've probably just laid the foundation for another. From now on, resist the urge to mess. Keep your hands away from your face unless it's to apply a skin care product.
