The Bikini-Ready Booty
Growing up I had some serious body image issues. In college I'd stand in front of a mirror and circle every flaw with a bold red marker, from my barely A-cup boobs to my flabby stomach. But no body part caused more grief than my giant bum. No matter how many miles I ran or stairs I climbed, I couldn't tame my beast of a booty. Even at my lowest (and, to be honest, unhealthiest) weight, I still had a butt to remind me that my body was far from perfect.
But now, after a major confidence makeover, I've learned to love my big old bum. It gives me some cushion when I fall down, as a klutz like me often does. It gives me something to shake when I go dancing with the girls. It gives my boyfriend something to grab when he wants to make me feel sexy. I'm so proud of my bottom that I showed it off in a magazine swimsuit spread earlier this year. Because as I've finally learned, a big bum is not something to hide.
