Beauty Associate Editor, Lauren Ezekiel, has tried hundreds, if not thousands, of products over her 12 years of beauty experience, so knows how to spot a product that is all style and no substance from the must-have item you never knew you needed. Best New Hair Tool
Ghd Chronos Hair Straightener (£289)
"I can't help it, I will always be excited when a new hair tool is launched. I remember the very first at-home hair straightener and I can still smell the scent of teenage angst and singed hair if I concentrate hard enough.
In terms of straighteners, Ghd really leads the way in terms of different options and variety. From the original to the wet-to-dry Airstyler, there is something for everyone. That's why I took a deep breath when I saw the brand was bringing out a new one.
The new Chronos claims to straighten hair three times faster, which reduces damage and prevents breakages. However, at nearly £100 above the ghd Original Straightener price tag, it needed to really impress to be worth it.
Firstly, I was shocked at the speedy heat up. It went to 180 degrees in under 30 seconds and I also liked that it made the speed claim, whilst keeping the temperature under 220 degrees (this excess heat is what can cause breakages and split ends.)
While it's not totally different to its original hair straightener, it did leave my hair looking shiny with zero frazzled ends. And was much quicker than the standard tools, as well.
It's the best of the straighteners available right now with leading technology, but it's not going to transform your hair routine. If you're in the market for good pair of straighteners, then this should undoubtedly be on your list. Plus, Ghd's last a very long time so the cost per use ends up being low, despite the initial blowout. "There are some products that forever live in the beauty hall of fame – Bobbi Brown Enrinched Face Base is one of them. Loved by makeup artists and influencers for its smoothing and hydrating qualities before applying foundation, it always worries me when add-ons are launched on the back of it a cult product's success. However, I didn't need to worry. This serum is, dare I say it, even better.
If, like me, you're struggling with dry skin thanks to central heating and cold temperatures then this is for you. Recently I've found my makeup hasn't been lasting longer than an hour. "If there was a month to buy this twist lip applicator, then February would be it. The lip stain and gloss combo comes in this cute heart-shape packaging - a nod to the retractable pens of the late '90s/early '00s - and we challenge you not to fidget with it all day switching it from a heart to a straight line.
However it isn't just the kitsch packaging that has impressed me. The stain is a high pigment pinky-red, which suits all skin tones and can be worn alone or with the gloss on top. "Glass skin, glass hair, glass highlighter... nothing is safe from this uber-shine trend. Rodial has jumped on the glass vibe with this highlighter and, if you're after a mega-watt glow, then woah. This provides it.
The handy stick applicator can be dabbed directly on to the skin, which helps avoid the whole one-pump-or-two scenario. Once applied to the area you want to highlight, personally I like the top of the cheekbones and the middle of the cupid's bow, then gently buff in with a small makeup brush.

Garnier Vitamin C Daily UV Brightening Fluid Glow (£13)
"I'm a big fan of Garnier's UV facial protection range. In the summer I keep the spray in my handbag at all times, whether its to give myself a quick spritz or quickly apply a top up to my children on the go. The protection is superior, it doesn't leave a white mask, and doesn't sting as you sweat (my greatest bug bear with facial SPFs.)
This is a lovely extension to the range, still providing the UVA 50+ protection, but now with the added glow - much needed throughout the winter months.
