The Meaning Behind Priyanka Chopra Jonas's Wrist Tattoo

Priyanka Chopra Jonas Lied to Her Dad in Order to Get Her Incredibly Meaningful Wrist Tattoo

If you've ever seen photos of Priyanka Chopra Jonas on a red carpet, you've likely spotted her handwritten wrist tattoo.

The tattoo, which reads "Daddy's Lil Girl..." is in honour of Chopra Jonas's father, Ashok Chopra, who sadly died in 2013. During a Zoom interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to chat all about her new memoir, Unfinished, Chopra Jonas revealed why she decided on the tattoo and how she actually had to lie to her dad to make the ink a reality.

"I was very close to my father, he was my greatest champion, my biggest cheerleader, the loudest guy in the room, and when he died, it was just quiet in that corner, you know?" Chopra Jonas said when Fallon asked about the tattoo. "If I'd win an award, he'd be like 'Ahhh!', and I had to tell him 'Dad, you've got to play it cool now', but dad didn't know how to, he was just so excited about everything I did," she added.

"I got this tattoo about a year or two before my dad passed, and I lied to him, and I told him I needed to write [his name] down because I wanted it for artwork for my album," Chopra Jonas admitted. "He wrote it in his handwriting, and now I have it here with me."
