Selena Gomez [2] may not be in the upcoming "Barbie" movie [3], but she's showing her support for the cultural Barbiecore phenomenon with her latest manicure. The singer shared a look at her pink Barbie nails [4] on her Instagram Stories on July 16 and her manicurist Tom Bachik [5] gave the scoop on the exact polish he used.
In the photo, Gomez can be seen clutching a Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm [6] ($20) against her baby pink floral dress. Tagging Bachik, her long-time go-to manicurist, he later shared the full rundown of what went into creating the look, divulging all the details.
To start, Bachik shaped the nails using the Tweezerman x Tom Bachik Nail Travel Set [7] ($60). Then, to give Gomez a little extra length, he used the Aprés Maisie Stiletto Gel X Tips [8] ($15) and filed them into a soft "ballerina" shape. According to the pro, Aprés Nail Gel Polish in Sweet Cheeks [9] ($14) is the colour the duo went with. Rather than Barbie's quintessential hot pink, it's a brighter dark pink but still on-theme nevertheless. It's unclear exactly what the occasion was of the all-pink look, but we wouldn't be surprised if the star was just feeling inspired by Margot Robbie's recent press tour [10].
