Popsugar Beauty Simone Ashley See Simone Ashley's Tattoos, Including One She Gave Herself Simone Ashley: "Bridgerton" Star and, Apparently, Self-Taught Tattoo Artist 29 March 2022 by Victoria Messina Image Source: Getty / Arturo Holmes Once baking banana bread and tie-dyeing shirts wore thin, Simone Ashley moved onto a slightly edgier pandemic hobby in 2020: tattooing herself. The "Bridgerton" star discussed becoming an at-home ink connoisseur during a "Jimmy Kimmel Live" appearance on March 28, revealing that she's not only tatted herself but also a few of her former castmates. After purchasing a rotary tattoo pen online, a process she described as "surprisingly easy," she went down a Google rabbit hole for tutorials and landed on a rather unexpected source. "I found this video, and it was like, 'Oh, you can use this deodourant stick, it has a chemical reaction on the transfer paper,'" she said. "I was like, 'Oh, this guy is using some really interesting stuff.' Then I looked at the username, and it was called prisontattoo.com . . . there's an inmate making videos in prison." Still thinking it was a "fab idea," Ashley followed his instructions and tattooed an Egyptian sphinx just above her left inner ankle. The results are quite impressive, if we do say so ourselves. In additional to the mythical creature, Ashley also has another tattoo on her opposite ankle — a horned animal skull — although she didn't address whether that one was self-given or professionally done. The British actor has no other tattoos that we know of, but we've caught glimpses of both of her ankle tats a few times when she stepped out for public appearances. Take a zoomed-in look at Ashley's artistic handiwork ahead, and then read up on everything you need to know about the hair and makeup moments in "Bridgerton" season two.
