At times, there's nothing more overwhelming than choosing a nail colour or design idea ahead of your nail appointment. You can scroll through TikTok or Pinterest to find inspiration of course, but oftentimes, it's tough to get ahead of the trends. Fear not, we've listed the spring nail colours that are due to be on everyone's minds, according to three nail experts.
To start, TikTok BIAB babe and nail artist Nailed By Belles, who has over 56.6k followers on the social media app, believes chrome tips will reign in spring, but with a bright coloured twist. She tells us: "I think the spring nail trend will be pastel chrome tips! Everyone's obsessed with chrome at the minute and pastels are a staple for spring."
Charlotte Knight, nail technician, CEO and founder of Ciaté London, agrees but points out that pale, pastel pinks will be the most popular colours for spring, thanks to the recent coquette trend. "The season's safe choice is a pale ballet pink, part of the coquette trend that dominated the tail end of 2023. The milkier the shade, the better," she adds.
"In the salon, try a pink acrylic for a colour that has more dimension than a flat paint shade. At home, make sure you're utilising a glossy topcoat," Knight advises, before noting that red was a key colour at London Fashion Week and can be a great way to brighten up your nail look.
"A pillar box red, bright red is the tone everyone is opting for; however you can customise the shade to best suit your skin tone," she says. Surprisingly, black nails could have their moment during spring, with the harsh contrast commanding attention.
Knight tells us: "Black nails are also back on the scene too thanks to the Tumblr revival trends that have been over arching many industries including fashion."
Meanwhile, Mylee ambassador and A-List manicurist Tinu Belo, who's worked with the likes of Killing Eve's Sandra Oh, TV presenter Holly Willoughby, and popstar Anne-Marie, can't get over green nails. She's certain any shade of the tropical colour will have its moment this season. "Green is especially trendy in the run up to spring and summer, as it coincides with nature; green grass, lush trees, and blossoming flowers – so we can definitely expect to see an increase in green manis over the coming months."
