Versed Mood Lighting Luminizing Glow Drops Review

I Tried Versed's New Luminizing Drops, and They Made My Skin Glow Without Makeup

On a scale of one to disco ball, I always prefer my skin to glisten and glow — especially in the summer. I try to achieve this not just with makeup and pretty highlighters (because let's be real, some days I just don't want to get glammed up), but with dewy skin-care products, too. That's why my favourite types of products are multitasking hybrids of the two like the new Versed Mood Lighting Luminizing Glow Drops.

Superfans of the brand will know this is its first venture into anything makeup-adjacent. As a skin-care first brand, you can bet it's infused with skin-loving ingredients. Peptides, which help improve your skin's natural barrier, and blackberry extract, which provides your skin with a dose of free-radical fighting antioxidants, make the glow drops apply and feel like a serum, while light-reflecting pigments make it dazzle like your best highlighter.

Every part of this product, from the adorable pink packaging to the glow-enhancing formula inside, radiates light. It comes in two shades: Sheer Bronzed with deeper brown tones and Sheer Golden with lighter gold tones. Both shades, because of the product's liquid formula, blend into the skin easily. It has a few intended uses but as with any makeup product, there are no rules — wear it alone with no makeup (like I did), under foundation for an extra boost of dewiness, mix it with your complexion products, dab it on to the high points of your face over makeup, or use it on your body.

Unlike some bronzing drops that are heavily pigmented, the Versed Mood Lighting Luminizing Glow Drops (£15) are less about adding colour to your face and more about boosting radiance, meaning you don't have to be afraid the finish will look too drastic. I decided to apply one drop to my entire face after my morning skin-care routine and instantly was impressed with how smooth it blended over my sunscreen. The immediate result was a soft-focus, all-over glow that didn't look sweaty or oily — just luminous.

I had plans to apply some conceal with this to finish off my no-makeup makeup look for the day but ultimately decided against it because my skin looked so good without it. As you can see, it doesn't give you coverage so if your goal is to reduce the appearance of blemishes this won't do that but it is great for enhancing your skin. It's safe to say this will become a staple in my daily summer makeup routine.
