Yara Shahidi [1] arrived at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards looking like a dream in an emerald green Dior dress [2], but our eyes immediately went to a tiny detail on her fingernails. The Grown-ish star was wearing abstract nail art [3] that was easy to miss if you didn't know to look for it, because the negative space design [4] was barely visible on the red carpet.
Luckily, though, celebrity manicurist Tracy Clemens [5] who often works with Shahidi shared a video that gave us a closer look at the nail art she created. The manicure, which was done on a clear base, looked to feature a variety of circles and dots in silver and black nail polish. The simple yet eye-catching design was done on Shahidi's natural nails and complemented her gold jewellery. It's proof you don't need to go all out with an over-the-top design to get in on the nail art trend.
