Anna Kendrick Recalls the Time She Jokingly Called Barack Obama an "Assh*le" to His Face
Not many people get to meet the President of the United States, and even fewer would dare to use colourful language right to his face. Well, Anna Kendrick's done both and lived to tell the (hilarious) tale. When she stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert recently, she recounted the embarrassing story of how her introduction to former President Barack Obama went, and why her cursing made him laugh out loud.
The 33-year-old actress had the opportunity to meet the 44th president back in 2012 during a campaign event. She, along with an intimate group, listened to the president speak in Los Angeles, where he used Anna as an example since her recent film Up in the Air dealt with economy. Afterwards, he apologised to Anna for calling her out, and said "I hope I didn't embarrass you," to which she jokingly replied "Yeah, you're such an assh*ole."
Her dry humour extended when she explained to Barack that she was the first person to show up for the event, and he asked "Are people from Maine usually punctual?" Anna replied by teasing, "You didn't know that? You're the president!" While her introduction to the former president was unconventional, Barack seemed to enjoy her comments as photos were captured of him doubled over laughing.
