Former Bachelor [1] competitor Bekah Martinez [2] has some exciting news: she's pregnant with her first child! After opting to pass on competing in Bachelor in Paradise [3], she finally revealed the big news in an interview with PureWow [4]. She recalled the initial shock she and her boyfriend, Grayston Leonard, had when they found out they were going to be parents. "I was in disbelief and thought, 'Is this really happening?'" Bekah said. "I immediately called Grayston and then went across the street to the Dollar Tree and bought two more pregnancy tests. They, of course, were both positive."
Although it was a surprise, Bekah said it was "a dream come true." In regards to becoming a mother, she said, "It's the one thing that I've known with certainty for so long. I've gone back and forth on the idea of marriage and relationships, but I've always felt sure that I want to be a mom."
Bekah competed on Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s season of The Bachelor [5]. After many speculated about Bekah's appearance on Bachelor in Paradise, she shut down any conjectures in July by posting a photo with Grayston [6], captioning it, "my own private paradise."

Now that her pregnancy news is out, she has expanded on her decision to remain off screen. "I think pregnancy is better than Bachelor in Paradise," she told PureWow. "Although I'm probably equally as sweaty, exhausted, nauseous, stressed out and emotional, at least I don't have to worry about finding a man. I already have that one covered." Bekah and Grayston have been dating for seven months and found out they were having a baby three months into the relationship, but they decided to remain mum about it until the time was right. "I wanted time to process it between Gray and I and our family without all of the exterior noise chiming in," Bekah said.
Bekah and Grayston will be expecting their bundle of joy sometime in January 2019.
